Thank you very much for the video. You make unique videos. I would love to see long day and night driving with the S500 in the German Autobahn at a good pace. Congratulations!
You are welcome bro! Let's see what I can do, but first I will upload a very special video tomorrow. You should definitely check it out! :) And thanks for your kind words, this means a lot to me!
it the computer consumptoin value same as the real consuption (real consumption you can check by tanking full, drive 100 kilometer and again full tank)
Nice car, want one too, but it wont do 12l in the city. Your average speed was 39km/h. In city, during rush hours max you can get is around 18-20km/h. So it will take some ~15-16 for sure. Cheers, thanks for vid!
Great video! Interesting to see at 200 kph the benefit of diesel goes away. Also, better than newer turbo v8 power at those speed as well. The beauty of 5.5l all motor power.
Thanks this helped me alot. Im about to buy s500 and i was worried about consumption but i see when its over 120kmh its spend less fuel then my bmw f10 530d
Help me out with something, I have the same car and I can't figure out what's the point of the two dashes that appear at 0:26, I don't even know how to google it :)).
Thats just indicating that the radar sensors are active for the parking sensors. At low speeds it activates and goes off at higher speeds. I hope you meant the yellow things which dissapeared the dashboard. C216 has the same dashboard
Hey, well honestly I think that the calculation system of the new 7 series is more accurate than in the W221. But as it shows in the video of the 7 series, the consumption drops under 14l at the end. But to sum up you can say that both cars have a similar consumption at 200 km/h.
Hey everybody, this one useless test. I did 2 long trips with my 2008 s500 each trip was 5000 km, and the consumptuon was 10.4 while used in the villages as well, not just highways, and on the autobhan where I could, I drive over on 200 km/h, the fastest (not the cars top speed) was 245 km/h, but can tell long kms runing with 200-230 where the traffic allowed it. The constant speed the key, less slow down, and accelerates make much longer distances. If I use my car on maximum 130km/h, the car use less then 9l/km! Which is amazing from a 5.5 v8 engine.
@@Saad-yk8qpi think that’s incorrect, 390km is abysmal and is barely 244 miles. They should give at least 500km depending on how and where you drive of course. Around town, this car will consume fuel much much more than if its doing 130kmh constantly for 200km. Still, don’t buy a 5.5 V8 for its fuel economy, and don’t expect the yearly maintenance of this car to be cheap either, and you should ALWAYS put premium fuel when you can for better performance, engine health and economy. This car remains to be one of the most luxurious cars ever made, even in 2023 (having extra gadgets and technology in a car I don’t consider luxury). If you can afford a good example, or are willing to fix one of up and maintain it like it needs to be, then get this car and it will be the greatest car you own
@@dwoolwichpoly9086 city: 375-450 km / 235-280 miles highway (up to 87 mph / 140 km/h): 720-865 km / 445-535 miles average combined: 589 km / 365 miles Those are the factory numbers He is either driving it hard or it needs alot of maintenance
@@avalon6607 True, I mean there are some things missing like music via Bluetooth and things like that, but honestly I rather want to hear the beautiful V8 sound 🔊
@@JocarShorts have you tried 4-matic version of 5.5L ? I have this model, don't really understand what are the true/real fuel consumption it shows average ~13-14l/100km, sometime depending on the drive style, it goes down to 11-12
