Not really, I think in that case the Ferrari would take the win, we need to keep in mind this is not a high downforce track and the V10 is the only car that doesn't need to charge its batteries. It can sustain that power throughout, and the light weight makes it a killer in the slower corners, of which the Nordschleife has plenty.

@@f1virtualfilms the F2004 should have had a higher top speed than the EVO here btw since its top speed on grooved tires was equal to that of the EVO. also would have helped to run them individually since whoever had the EVO was deliberately blocking F2004 thus making it apparent that the F2004 was faster. Lewis car was Also definitely faster than the EVO given the EVO didnt beat its time at Spa. also given your EVO run was actually faster than the offical run tells me you did some tuning to the car pre run to make it look better

@@protege1717 I actually made some adjustments to the EVO to balance the race more, but the driver who holds the real lap record himself assumed he could go a little faster.

Somehow feeling the same, but keep in mind it's by FAR the lightest car. EVO is 850. 800kg for F1 2024, 750 for 2020, 600 for 2004. Rounded up. Also (not sure if this is the case by ingame rules) for the whole Nordschleife it would be impossible to keep deploying at full chat all lap long for everything except the F2004?

​​@@Jejkingyeah this exactly....all the hybrids , can't be pushing all the way till the end of the lap, energy management would take a massive hit on a 20 km lap..... but the NA V10 has full power all the way, it can push all out, only a bit of heat and tyre management would suffice. And on slicks...yup sure winner

That's what I managed to tune so the car was good in the curves and had a good final speed on the straights. And rest assured, the F2004's AI is at 100%.

No way F2004 WITH slicks is overperforming, there are the most savage race cars in history in acceleration, AND they have a much higher range than the 2 heavy draggy hybrids, now with slicks they can also hold its own in the corners against those 3 fastest circuit racing cars, it can hold its own or even exceed the Evo's straightline performance and as quick as the drippiest F1 cars in the corner, so the only reason here it didn't win coz it couldn't overtake, even in China high downforce spec they reach over 350kph, and reach 0-340kph in about 11secs, for something that's 20 years old its no joke.

Yeah it just looked like the AI was struggling to overtake! It reminded me of GT4 or 5 where the cars just backed off instead. The 2004 would have been long gone

As I already mentioned here in response to some comments, the 919 has an exclusive setup for this track with DRS opening in several sectors. Unfortunately, F1 mods don't have this setup and I don't have the knowledge to do it either.

In the AI of this game, the 919 EVO has a specific DRS setting for the Nordschleife and the F1 unfortunately does not.

old f1 cars are much lighter and compact.

AI is generally slower than a good human pilot. And there is the issue that here it is not a fast lap with just one car, but rather a race where the lap time is much slower.

This starting grid was the best way I found to balance things

I appreciate the suggestion, but I believe most people prefer a wheel-to-wheel race, which is more exciting, rather than comparing the times of each car individually.

The races are great :) but it’s a shame the AI just backs off instead of going to make an overtake! Surely there’s an aggressiveness option you can turn up? I know the 2004 would have won quite easily if so, also maybe not great for viewing but it was frustrating hearing it just back off all the time.

The 919 EVO is already programmed in this game to open the DRS on this track on any straight and unfortunately the F1 Hybrids don't have it, they only open the DRS on the long straight.

I believe that the difference in time is because the AI is bolder and faster in sections of dangerous curves than the real-life driver.

The real life driver himself said the car could be way faster but he couldn’t handle the high amount of g forces.
