Great refresher. Hadn't done the front pads on the C320 for 10 years since it isn't driven more than 30 miles 5 days a week. It took me about an hour on each side but well worth the cost savings. Thanks very much!

Great video, does pushing back the piston with a screwdriver against the rotor not damage the rotor? It's easier this way but I avoid doing it if I'm not changing the rotors

yes, the screwdriver can scratch disc, probably not a big deal, I use a C clamp to compress once brakes are off, use an old pad on one side and turn the clamp until the piston is back in. I clean the piston with spray cleaner first then compress them, you want to protect the seals as much as possible. Last you need to make sure reservoir isn't full or it will overflow. Use a syringe to suck some out if full.

those are not caliper mounting bolts those are guide pin bolts only 25nm hand tighten is enough

I actually bought a new pair of sensors and replaced the old ones. So that was the issue.

The dashboard warning disappeared when I changed the old sensors with some new ones, so yes.

I smelt a rat when I noticed disc set up with the large nut that holds the rear drive shafts. Nothing rings true with this video because a Mercedes C180 (W203) is a rear wheel drive car, yet everything that is replaced is, as the heading says Front Pads Replacement. The rear pads DO NOT have pad wear sensors, yet we see a drive shaft coming in behind the hub. What gives? Anyone else here notice this video is not as good as you think it is. BTW, DO NOT push the old pads back with a screw drive because it can damage the rotors if you're not replacing them, which is also a good idea given MB discs are notorious for abnormal wear due to ultra soft material & the old pads can get stuck in behind the ridge at the front of each old disc. More work than this guy points out!
