Times changed. In my W124 I could remove door handle panel in about 30 seconds, without removing any trim, just one screw. I could fix a broken odometer at the side of the road or swap headlights in -10C at night in 15 minutes. Now I have W204, I need to replace rear shelf (trim? cover?) and I've been mentally preparing myself to do it for a year.
I'm not over the finish line yet but, your video and advice was spot on. I read online that some people were quoted £400 for the part plus labour. MB replace the inner card completely as this part is not officially serviceable!!!!
Great Video Mikeyz thanks for posting, saved me £100s. The kit to fix this fault is on Ama**on £15 ! I did use a large hss drill bit very carefully to remove plastic welds to separate panels, found it more productive. Thankyou once again Mikey
Ya these suck bad, have an 08 c300 never broken one, my 14 c250 came from Nevada with high heat and now in colder climate there breaking, not cool how they design em, and I'm a master tech btw
if ur handles are the same.e yes ...even if not same it will be similar with cutting tabs ..u just need to figure out which tabs allow the trim with the door handle to come out
Hi on your w204 door lock actuator video, can you fit the generic actuator to the drivers side door lock in the same way as passenger side ?? My 2010 c180 driver side is playing up ! Thanks Brad
Hi , its possible to remove that chrome trim above the carbon trim? (...and without removing that whole part with doorhandle?) And would by great wrap that carbon/piano blk/wood... door trim to Alcantara.
great video Mikey 👍 but I started to have a different problem with my 204 . For some reason my parking lights stopped working I checked bulbs and they are ok, Fuses look to be ok too and instead right indicator Is flashing right front foglamp.on dashboard shows ther is no bulb. What problem it might be?
Hello, sorry, i bought repair pack for mercedes w204, and un this pack include black square pieze, could you explain me qhere I have put it please? Regards and thanks
Hi I'm going to have to do this myself. On the same door' the door doesn't unlock without me pulling the handle witch is why I think it's broke over time with me pulling the handle to unlock the passenger side door from the inside. When I change the handle with the panel being of is it possible to get to the lock? Thanks any help would be great.
@@jdogg2789 it is abit involved but it is not that hard ... uve seen the video ... u can get an understanding of what's involved..if u aren't handy with tools might take abit longer but better then raking it to mercedes
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ hello buddy iv been putting of my fix due to work but now I have the parts I need to replace the door handle. My only concern is my door is shut and can't open it will I be unable to do it?
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ just want to show you this if I may. Part of the trim isn't sitting right. Not sure if I need to re-hang the door card again? flic.kr/p/2nfuT9B
All sitting back where it should. I did however, manage to push the centre part of the H clip into the inner part of the door. I really hope I don't hear this rattle when driving lol.
@@andyw3152 lol how did u do that..u must of got so annoyed and just pushed like he'll and bam it fell in ... if u remove door panel u might be able to reach it right at the bottom or unless that only if u drill all the rivets out
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ When I fitted the panel back, I had pushed the inner part of the H clip too far, made it impossible to pull out. So I thought, maybe if I push it further in I would be able to pull out the main H clip, then it dropped in. Did a test drive, could hear the small clip moving around, I think I will have to leave it now. Thanks Mikey.
PLEASE HELP! I finally got everything replaced and the door panel put back on the vehicle. When I went to test it by pulling on the newly installed handle....nothing. I hear the cable being pulled, but the door does not open. Tried locking and unlocking (both electronically with the panel buttons and by manually pushing down the lock pin and pulling at back up), still nothing. Pulling on the door handle will pop up the lock (which I believe indicates that the handle/cable are working properly?) but the door does not open. Door opens fine from the outside, so the un-latching mechanism works. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED, THIS WAS A MJAOR PAIN AND I WOULD HATE FOR IT ALL TO BE FOR NOTHING :(
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ hello sir. Mine wasnt a replacement as such. I manually unlocked the drivers door and the hanndle has since been loose. Its locking and unlocking ok, Outside handle fine Thanks
@@patrickramasia6769 make sure the cable is sitting in its dedicated holder. When I first made the replacement, I did not put it in the hold I just attached it to the handle. This also tightened up my door handle because the cable was more stretched out after being set in the holder.
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ Many thanks. Got it out in the end, couldn't remove the electrical connection, but it was fine. Now waiting for the replacement handle to arrive now. If MB fixed this would they replace the whole door card?
u mean you broke the plastic piece that the led shines through? I broke mine too I used some super glue that was transparent and just stuck it back together ... it doesn't shine as bright as it once did but the led is still there
