Extraordinary reaction. Glad you made it through. 😏 You haven't really heard this song until you've seen this version. I was privileged to see this concert live in Chicago that summer. A million watts of sound coming at you from spkrs 360° around the stadium. Words can't really do it justice. Think Moses parting the Red Sea, and you're getting close.
That must’ve been some experience. Like I said in the video I got all that from watching a 10 min performance on a little computer screen, hearing it with headphones. But to be there, that must’ve been something. Here’s hoping that artist keep making music and moments like this.
That’s a perfect way to describe it. I’ve had the privilege of seeing PF in concert twice and it was ethereal. Like an out of body experience. No other way to describe the vibes 🔥
@@anksreacts “David Gilmour can do more with one note than most other guitar players can do with the whole fretboard” ― Dave Mustaine (co-founder of Megadeth). And that is David Gilmour's special talent. He himself said it was never going to be about speed. He was never going to be a shredder. Instead, he has a unique ability to convey emotion through his guitar. His wife Polly once half-jokingly said that David speaks better with his guitar than he does with his words.
Great great job! Hits you like a ton of bricks doesn’t it!! Emotions rage from the body!! This is why we (ALL PINK FLOYD FANS) absolutely LOVE their music
Now THAT right there is genuinely feeling this masterpiece. You listened, and it touched you! I heard this for the first time when I was 11 years old in 1979 in El Salvador. I didn’t even speak English yet, but it didn’t matter, because I fell in love with the music of this eternal band. There are no words to describe it. You listen, you feel it, and it takes you to beautiful places.
Just about everybody has that reaction, I grew up with pink floyd music those where the days when you had real music and brilliant concerts but the pulse concert was the ultimate concert and still is to this day....
I’ve been getting chills for 50 yrs listening to them! Especially this song, it just makes you think and gives you some sort of peace or something!🤷🏼♀️ got too do some Led Zeppelin! You’ll love them!
I have to do Lee Zeppelin for sure. I know songs like Kashmir, Stairway and Levee. But I guess I’ll start with No Quarter. A lot of TOOL fans have been asking me to check out both the zipper and tool’s version of the song
Now THAT was a visceral reaction. Which is a good thing. If you're just falling down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole, i envy you, because there's a LOT of that still to come.
Just starting to listen to them now. They were like Star Wars to me. Something everyone always told me that I need to experience but I was nervous that maybe it wouldn’t live up to all the hype. Well, safe to say I was wrong about Pink Floyd, so far.
I was so honored to be at this concert in Clemson SC in 94. I was 19 and I will never experience anything like it again... I cant tell you how powerful, spiritual and soul grabbing this entire concert was!! ❤❤❤❤
Dude, your reaction looked genuine, either you really feel Pink Floyd, or you're a great actor! You should check out more of the Pulse Concert, every song is a performance. Songs like "Sorrow",... "High Hopes",... "Money" and many, many more. Also check out the studio version of "Time" from Pink Floyds iconic "Dark Side of the Moon" album from 1973.
I think either Brando or Deniro said that a great actor is really bad at acting. In order to be a good actor you have to connect to the material completely, believe it, and let it take you places. Most importantly you have to be honest and feel everything. That seems to be my issue, I just feel everything I can without fighting how it makes me feel. But, only great art can do that to me. And this was something special. Thanks for watching. And Dark Side of the Moon is for sure my list.
I saw this concert twice, on May 23 and 24, 1994, Montreal Olympic Stadium. My employer (Labatt Breweries of Canada) was the main sponsor for the three shows in Montreal, they were offering employees discounted tickets, in addition to a draw of a few dozen tickets. I bought mine for May 23 and I won those (a pair) for May 24. Some people have asked me, "Why are you going to see this show twice?" When they finally saw the DVD of this show a few years later, they understood why I was there twice.
" When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse Out of the corner of my eye I turned to look but it was gone I cannot put my finger on it now The child is grown The dream is gone ... "
You'll get the same thing from their 1989 live version of "On the Turning Away"! Also more songs during this 94 Pulse concert like the song "Sorrow" or "Run Like Hell" the song they close this concert with!
When I need a good cry I play this vid, no kidding. This version is longer than the studio I believe, his solo could have gone on another few good minutes and I would not complain!
Same here! I could’ve listened to that solo for a lot longer. I was completely mesmerized. And I don’t know how it is for you, I was crying but I couldn’t tell you why. It just came rushing out.
Good to share your first time witnessing this masterpiece and experiencing that magic ride that only they can send you on. A masterpiece and so much. They have given me untarnished pleasure for 50 years. I hope they give you as much joy as you explore them. 😄🙏👍
i was lucky to be there at this concert. never have i felt so emotion in mu entire life i am now 51 not even on my wedding day did i feel so much . 1994 earls court london back home were the boys are from . best solo ever period.
I totally agree with you! I was crying, not out of sorrow but because I just felt this awe inspiring art grab me and take me on a journey. Release seemed to be the only path! I appreciate you watching. Here’s hoping you guys take the World Cup this year!! I’m rooting for y’all
The Guitar GOD HIMSELF DAVID GILMOUR,KEEP KONPFLER BALIN HENDRIX ETC DAVID GILMOUR IS ON A TOTALLLY DIFFERENT LEVEL THIS MAN TRANSCENDS GREAT GUITAR PLAYING HE SPEAKS TO US CONVERSES WITH US THRU HIS MAGICAL GUITAR WORK, SHHHH, GENUIS AT WORK .AND THATS WHY I AM A LIFE LONG FLOYDIE
My 2nd time to watch you. The first time was to a Black sabbath video 15 minutes a go (In my time line). really enjoying your passion. I will check out more Brother. Question everything!
Ultimate reaction to the ultimate guitar solo..ever. I have experienced it multiple times over the years, and I can say without reservation that it induces a kind of warmth in the center of the chest that radiates into the abdomen and produces a sensation close to orgasm. This exhiliration is coupled with a feeling of sadness that the solo is coming to an end, when you wish it would go on forever.
Nice reaction. Being there is indescribable. I had nice floor seats, 40,000 fans just mesmerized. Echoes live in Pompeii is a must. It is broken down into two parts but the album version is 25 mins. The live is split in two about 12 and 12.
🥰 So glad you did Pulse Tour video! I saw this Tour in NJ Meadowlands and as with every PF show, 🤪 I couldn't see for 2 Days because of the Lasers! 🤯 And I was in the nosebleed section. 🤭 I admit the flying 🐖 pig startled me! 😒 But that's an entirely different Convo.... 🙄 Shouldn't have done mushrooms but..... 🤗 It's PF! Psychedelics for a Psychedelic Band! 🤩 Plus they came with a big Disco Ball! Who doesn't love a Disco Ball that turns in to 'Object de Art'! 😁🐰
My crying moment was when Gilmore was sitting at the Slide Guitar and in the middle of a well known song 🤯 he broke out the Dr Who Theme Song. 🤗 To this day, I don't know what brought the tears out but within 3 notes I was a blubbering mess. 😌 And no one looked at me weird or strange because they understood! PF & Gilmore just do that to people! We thank you for not trying to stop the emotion from coming or trying to tough it out as some other reactors do. 😒 Don't understand why folks feel the need to hide the fact some music just makes you lose it but in a good, cathartic way. 🥰🐰
David Gilmore is considered one of the greatest guitarist ever. Not because he shredded or went ridiculously crazy. Mostly because his melodies were f’ing perfection!
You will totally lose your mind if you watch "run like hell" from the same pulse concert It is the grand finale to the concert with nothing held back As they say all the bells and whistles
Great reaction! Check out Coming Back To Life, Sorrow, Wish You Were Here, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Run Like Hell, High Hopes...all from the same concert.
Gilmour is unimaginable in so many ways, I suggest you to do a live version of the song Sultans of Swing by Dire straits at Alchemy in 1983. Another great guitarist, Mark Knopfler
Have you ever listened to the prog band Porcupine Tree, great band! I would love to see you react to the live performance of the song 'Arriving Somewhere but Not Here', I think you would like this group. They are a bit like both Tool and Pink Floyd in that their live performances sound as good as the studio version. They have a fairly extensive catalogue of music and lots of really good songs.
Hey Sharilyn, I have never heard of that band but I will check them out for sure. I was never really into prog rock, because I thought the songs were too long. I guess I just wasn’t ready for them, but now I can’t seem to get enough. So thanks for suggesting them I’ll check them and that song out for sure
Now you need to watch Sorrow, from this same concert. I think you be remise not to watch the entire Pulse concert though. It is an incredible experience.
Good reaction. Now listen to the UNCUT version same song, same concert (Pulse). Over a minute was cut from the guitar finale because David Gilmour heard an 'iffy' note or two, so had to edit that much out. In my opinion, I would rather hear that iffy note, and then hear over a minute extra of David Gilmour playing guitar, thank you very much. But, up to you. And, live, Pink Floyd ALWAYS plays better, and usually longer, than on studio versions. And I hope by now somebody had told you that there are 4 Pink Floyd albums that are 'concept' albums, meaning that the whole album tells a story, and should be listened to all together (at least once) from first track right through to the last track. These albums are Dark Side of the Moon 1973, Wish You Were Here 1975, Animals 1977 and The Wall 1979.
Proper reaction to a down right proper version. As I'm sure you now know this is from The Wall. Do yourself a favor and listen or watch The Wall in it's entirety. The movie is only 9min longer than the album. Peace/JT
Haha 😂 But, here’s an alternative: You: Dude, who owns this song? Me: Pink Floyd You: And who sings this song? Me: Anyone who feels like it You: Then you should let THEM sing it Me: I agree, you should. Seriously though, thanks for watching.
Oh I’m sorry dude, but I was listening to the music simultaneously. Maybe I’ll try it your way and try to listen with my eyes open. I’m it’ll sound better then. Thank you for watching, with your eyes open, I hope 🤞🏾
