the thing i love most about the outfits at this met gala is how most people were clowning karl the whole time. dressing up like his cats, wearing things he would absolutely hate, its just amazing because of how horrible he was to models. and most outfits did just look really good.
@@Shewas-kathybates I mean, I don't think it was because of how he treated models, but because he had some pretty shitty opinions- being the racist, sexist, fatphobic, antisemite that he was- a lot of people purposefully wore things that he would despise. Everyone wearing pink was saying fu to Karl because the man absolutely hated pink, a couple of people wore sweatpants to the afterparty (something Karl said was a sign of defeat/that you've lost control of your life), Pedro Pascal wore socks that didn't reach his knees and shorts that showed off hair on his legs (both things that Karl hated) as well as wearing bright red Valentino (a big competitor) and painting Valentino logos on his middle fingers, and Lizzo wore a classic Chanel dress, black, adorned with pearls, three of Karl's favorite things except all on a person who represents everything he hates- a fat woc. Seems a bit too specific to be ONLY trying to stand out, y'know?
@@momoroxy I didn’t see anyone in pink on the carpet. And why would Lizzo even go in a Chanel dress, (whom Karl designed for) wearing his favorite things if she thought he hated big women of color? Yes, it's been a while since Dylan reviewed fashion, but this was THE met gala of the met galas, like 95% were on theme and slayed, basically Karl was Chanel, so think tweed, Camillia flower, beads and pearls, ribbons, masculine/feminine cuts and style, classic and of course the final bridal dress to close the runway
Doja's outfit was a homage to Karl's cat Choupette. and i LOVED that she was trolling everyone by meowing and Emma going along with it makes it even better.
Pedro wore a piece from Valentinto, had his nails painted with "V's," and of course, the vast amount of striking red is Valentino's color. Valentino was a huge competitor for Karl, who, as seen, favored black and white. I also want to believe that Nas' outfit was a statement of "I'll cover myself in diamonds, and paint over my race, because that's the only way Karl would be ok with a black man existing on an event carpet."
