Meta Quest 3 vs PICO 4 - Review, Comparison & Gameplay 

Going to be waiting until after Christmas when all the suburban moms sell theirs off on Marketplace

My take is this, I don't think there is any point upgrading from a Pico 4 if you only use the Pico 4 with a PC for PCVR. If you rely on the Meta ecosystem then it's definitely worth an upgrade to the Quest 3. Make sure you put SideQuest on your Quest 3 Chigz and play some Brutal Doom VR lol Cheers for the video.

How did you find the screen door effect on the Quest 3 and in comparison to the Pico 4?

I only want to see comparisons of the pcvr link which most don't mention.

We need a comparison with the quest pro controllers and the quest 3 controllers!

I'm not a big fan of the psvr2, but I absolutely love the head vibrations. Think meta messed up not doing it too. It's the weirdest thing to introduce but actually one of the best. I'd use psvr2 more, if more disks were for sale. Just a pain paying digital for same title I own. Longevity always pc and quest. I might not own psv2, 6 months down line. If I didn't love GT7 I wouldn't even buy one. Good headset if it's your only headset.

sad that my Pico had a bad display I had to return it and decided to wait for Quest 3. it is an amazing all rounder headset and you can't forget these controller remind me of the index controllers in how close you can get them. no rings allow me to have them so close to each other and my face while gaming

Thx for the review . I have a question about field of few . Somehow when i watch pico 4 lens it's so huge then i think field of view and immersion should be better than meta 3 . U have both how you compare FOV

IPD adjustment on Pico4 is not "digital". It's motorized. Digital IPD means it's done by software and it moves pixels - yep digital IPD is on Quest 2 due fixed screen, so it moved pixels with lenses in 3 positions. You told a lot about both headsets, so you did good review and compare. Note: i own Pico4 too.

RU-vid VR on the Quest 3 only maxes out at 1080p.. I hope this is fixed.

I was having major problems with meta quest 2 PCVR recognizing controllers, with all the accessories quest 3 needs you will end up paying 1000.00 and still have inability to recognize controllers on PC, gonna try PICO 4 400.00 and really dont need any accessories

Seems like pico 4 has wider both passthrough and in-game fov , correct me if i'm wrong

could you tell me about the quality and volume of the sound when they are on your head? They have different directions of the speakers, and it is not clear how you positioned the microphone. Pico 4 is noticeably louder in the test, but is it the same when it’s on your head?

Honestly, it more depends on person to person I guess. Some won't even use all the capibilities the Quest 3 has, so why bother? Pico 4 would be a good stop for a first experiece as well, and if you are just short on money but still want to feel the VR

Hello, What is the battery life? I don't believe 2 hours because i read the comments and some people say 40 minutes, some people say 1 hours.

Is the snapdragon only relevant to standalone (not pc) games?

Looks good and more a pico 4.5. I'm definitely cooling my interest right now. In my head I'm like wow new tech, when in reality it's really not much better right now. No need to rush. So I'll trade in my stuff at cex instead. When I've got enough trade I'll get one over a cash sale.

Minor gripe, some of the games compared were different and I think having something like a water mark would be nice just so we know it's less apples to apples.

Thanks for your review! I'm enjoying both headsets as well, but I have to say that the Q3 makes the Pico 4 feel a bit more dated now. The UI of the Pico 4 is functional, but it's just a simple no frills menu system, basically. The Q3's displays pop a bit more thanb that of the Pico 4, which now feels a bit dull in comparison. Anyway can't wait to see what the future holds for VR. The Pico 5 looks promising as well, but the most important thing Pico needs right now is awesome games and software, so they can catch up with Meta.

Good review, HOWEVER, some users will experience buyers regret when they discover the nausea which can affect some users. I was really sad when I had to return mine due to nausea symptoms when using for more than 10-15 minutes. Also, to play a AAA game such as Half-Life Alyx, you will need a PC with a high-end graphics card

Pico4 is king for PCVR when it comes to value for money. Standalone, Quest 3 wins hands down. Been using Pico4 through steamVR and not going back to Meta ever since. Bad thing about Pico4 is no direct display port. If it had that, no Quest model will ever beat it.

Is visual quality for PCVR similar to the Quest 3 from pico 4?

As a PS VR 2 owner would you still recommend the Quest 3 over a Pico 4 as an additional VR headset? I sold my Quest 2 to buy the PS VR 2 because it was just too heavy for me, and the PS VR 2 fixed this due to the lightness and had good content plus eye tracking. However, as you know, it is lacking the pancake lenses and MR. Considering I am already covered on content with PS VR 2, is the addition of MR worth choosing Quest 3 over a Pico 4? I can afford the Quest 3 and I already have prior purchased content so I can justify buying it despite the cost difference. I guess I am just most concerned about the weight and comfort. If less comfortable than the Pico 4 do you think adding a counter weight like the Bobo VR strap would make it similarly comfortable as the Pico 4? In other words, is the comfort improvement on the Quest 3 (compared to the Quest 2) great enough to potentially beat the Pico 4?

I like it, but it's too pricey, and not including the better strap in the box is just stupid.

Just know the pass-through does not look as clear as in the videos. It does have a grainy look. Oops If you want the Quest 3 to fit nicely you HAVE TO buy a new addon for the one it comes is all say its just awful very uncomfortable

The Quest 3 strap is awful! I hate it and even thought about it to return the Quest 3. The price for the headset is way too high with that cheap shitty strap that gives me headache after 5 mins. Waiting for BoboVR to release the M3 Pro Elite Strap. The Pico 4 headstrap was awesome. I was kinda disappointed coming from the Pico 4. But the software is so much better on the Quest. Pico software feels like a cheap aliexpress ripoff from meta 😂 The graphics in Red Matter 2 (optimized for the Q3) are INSANE. It feels like PCVR....unreal! Try it!

After watched ur video I decided to stick on my Pico 4

I had the Pico4 and switched to the Quest 3. But only because I play competitive sports games and I need the 120 hz and always fast updates). The Quest 3 is a bit better everywhere except for the price and the comfort (even with Elitestrap, because it's lighter and the weight is nicely distributed). There are 3 groups I recommend the Pico 4 to In PCVR they are almost on par (Quest 3 slightly better), but since the comfort and price is significantly better, I would go for the Pico 4 (+Virtual Desktop) for pure PCVR. Pure sports gamers (unless you play competitively) will also have more fun with the Pico 4, due to the better comfort and because the graphics are second rate And casual gamers who don't need a huge game library and have to watch their money when buying. Ultimately, the Quest 3 is the better, more sophisticated headset and if money is no object, I would always choose it over the Pico 4. If it does, I would recommend the Pico 4 to the groups mentioned above.

pcvr seems to be dead, besides ethusiast level hardware. its eighter stand alone (which is wasted money if you have a good pc) or 1600+ dollars pcvr sets. theres nothing like a "modern" valve index around anymore. iam in for a market, that doesnt get served atm

I waite for Pico 5 next year.

Pico 4 has less than 2 hours of gameplay in real world use. I think quest 3 would last longer due to optimization.

VR is a gimmick and dying, specially after the PS2VR failure
