I have been a subscriber of Odin Makes for a few years now, I like all things about crafting even if it is not metal. But when I was in one of Odin's Proton Pack build livestreams and I heard Odin was interested in some parts cast in Aluminium I just had to offer to make those for him.
Check out Odin Makes here:

I am impressed. 12 points go to the netherlands! I actually have nothing to do with such topics - except of some basic knowledge - but seeing something being created from the scratch, is simply awesome. Well done!

I was wondering what you were going to do about the undercuts 😂😂 Looks great! Do you periodically check the thickness of your crucible? It looks very thin with that large opening. I had one break on my because it got so thin.

Yes I keep an eye on them, I have a bunch of worn down ones that I now only use for lower melting point metals like pewter, bismuth and zinc. I use new crucibles for copper and bronzes, then demote them to brass and later to aluminium ansd so on, that way I still get a lot of uses out of them. When worn down to far I use them as molds for round ingots 😁👍

Unless the part uses heat exchange then zinc would be better for casting. I find because extruded is an engineering process where aluminum is heated up to the consistency of clay and forced through a die. This is not good casting aluminum. Awesome episode brother

I am aware of this, in this case the V hook will be part of a cosplay piece, so making it light weight was the main reason to go for Aluminium, otherwise I would use Zamak or Brass. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
