I personally knew David. I even rented practice space to Reverend. After I split up with my ex, David and I dated for a short time. His memorial website has photos I took of him. I saw MC in Seattle with Ronnie singing...it made me cry. Ronnie does a great job.
Suzanne Marie , A 5 year old comment like that and nobody says nothing. Well I will. Your story makes me cry. Metal Church is my favorite band ever. I saw them perform in 1985 with David Wayne. In a small bar on Long Island called Sundance. It was the best metal show I ever saw. Then and still today! Hands down. I got to shake David's hand while he sang Gods of Wrath. I'll never forget that night in 85! Btw, I WILL check out those pictures. Definitely! And yeah, Ronnie is awesome. But it's Kurdt's band. Why he ever parted ways with David and the 1st drummer Kurt Arrington is beyond me! But i still respect Kurdt Vanderhoof and Metal Church for keeping the band alive. We all miss David Wayne. I feel your pain. Even tho I didn't know him personally like you did.
I saw MC in Boston in 85 or 86, I was about 4 feet from David, awesome show, I still have the tshirt and the original album. I just saw MC last Saturday in New Bedford, MA. Lots of great stuff from that band.
I saw them with David Wayne who was awesome and Ronnie does him such justice. He’s the only Metal singer who’s performing can make me cry cause it’s just that damn good.
The true fourth member of the Big Four, they earn it on album pedigree as first one was released in 1984 and unlike Joey of Anthrax, all Church singers could sing
Growing up with a father who was raised on big band swing music and gave me my first drum lessons, Kirk was always one of my favorite & influential drummers in how he could drive such fast and heavy songs with steady straight tempo on the hi-hat (or ride) while swinging the bass, snare, and accents just tastefully ever so slightly off that driving tempo beat!
I was just telling my sons about him! Dude had that beat, technic, everything! His playing on the first album “metal church” is insane, the start of “my favorite” nightmare is on fire!
you can see the faces. bewildered they realize that the first Metal Church album and THAT band started it all and they dont know how to react. and the kid upfront knows.....he knows...R.I.P David Wayne, Mike Howe, we love and miss the Church.. !!!!
1986 Paradise in Boston Ma. Antrhax and Metal Church David Wayne blew the doors off the place with this song. This guy does a good job though, I would go see them.
When I was a little kid about 7 years old about 1980 my sister took me to a house in Everett Washington and hung out with one of guitarists and had a gold les paul,, nice guy
Mike Howe was still good back then like he was now but he will be missed R.I.P buddy you a legend we miss you dearly God bless you I miss you and my wife does too you are the one of the best singers of middle Church God bless you buddy R.I.P I'm glad I got to see you at the beaches see in Birmingham Alabama I have met you shook your hand gave you a hug when I was in my teens God bless you man you are the best singer about a church rest in peace may I see you in heaven
I was introduced to the band through a late friend back in the early 90's, at the time i couldn't understand what and how i missed these guys. Essential records to own for any metal head!
@motleydrue666 "Twang" vocal mode. This particular singer trained under the same person that trained Geoff Tate, Ann Wilson, Layne Staley, and Chris Cornell.
