Whoever you are, woman DANCING to Beyond The Black in 2005, you made me smile for a moment almost 20 years later. I know that song for almost four decades and for the very first time...I'm gonna try this right now. 🖤
I remember hearing this for the first time in my room back in the 80s and being blown away by the heaviness, guitar solos and the screeching vocals of David Wayne. Its 2021 and I still jam out to this in my car
@@xxnycstruballaxx ripper and Wayne are the absolute best, imo. Halford.. I don't know man, I can't dig his shrill.. but Wayne and Ripper man... They leave me with my jaw hanging open.. their range, I think, is what knocks me on my ass Everytime they go up and down that scale. Halford can only go up. Lol.
One of the most underrated along with savatage armored saint sanctuary and a bunch of others. Vio lence for thrash even though they are known still underrated. Don't get enough recognition. Savatage got more known because of metal Christmas songs
Every band that has not sold out and made it big like Metallica is “underrated”. What makes a band not underrated in your book? Mainstream commercial success? With this kind of music? True fans do rate bands like Church, Saint, Savage, I am one of them. For me these bands are not underrated at all.
My god that was one of the best metal moments I’ve ever seen. Ronnie Munroe is a Metal God! I saw them during the first LP on tour in Palo Alto, California with David Wayne (who was incredible.)
80's was the best time for metal. JP, Maiden, Dio, Ozzy, slayer, Metallica. Testament, Metal Church, Savatage. Screaming vocals, blitzkrieg fast guitar riffs, screaming solos, devastating drums! Just don't get better!
@@SinewRending Ronnie Munroe Wayne passed in 2005 from injuries sustained from a auto accident It was good to see Ronnie revive the Wayne Era songs Ronnie had a good run with the band 2004-2014 put out some great music with the band
Such an awesome band! One of the first bands I got into when I discovered Metal in 2000, these guys, Priest, Maiden, are the reason metal is still the best! You got to appreciate screamers!
@@kennethferrari5232 howe did it at bloodstock I believe.....Arrington is my fav drummer from church but man stet Howland is the guy to finish it off......plate is good but doesn't do it for me.....Howland has the energy.....not sure who's gonna be the vocalist now the band is tight.......hard to replace howe after what happened.....solid frontman......I wouldn't rehire munroe even though I like him......I was thinking about someone yesterday to fill in....forgot who now....
@@xxnycstruballaxx Thanks for letting me know, I did not know Mike Howe had passed. This band is hard on lead singers with Wayne also passing years ago.
@@xxnycstruballaxx Plate is a Great Drummer from all his projects from Savatage Trans Siberian Alta Reign etc what I didn’t care for is He’s so technical and precise in his playing that it has no feel or swing Stet Howland is a old school skin Basher yes he is a technical tight player but he’s not “stiff” and mechanical he just plays has emotion feel and swing in his playing let’s the band breathe In my opinion Stet and Arrington are from that same old school of playing my analogy is taking your car to a mechanic Plate would be the Dealership Mechanic Stet/Arrington the dude down the street that works out the backyard mechanic…both are good at the craft
I bought the first Metal Church album when it first came out...because the album is so powerful. David Wayne killed it on vocals. Whoever likes brutal power metal needs to get the self titled Metal Church album. I like all MC albums...but the first one got me into this band. Now...Mike Howe is back in the band, and they sound great! Metal Church rules!
There were some songs that Ronny sang great. Mike Howe has the power vocally to shred your face off. I'm looking forward to the new album with Mike at the helm.
True metal church is way to difficult to replicate but this was a OK try shit I can't do it but props to the people that have tried love this old timeless metal it still bring power to me after all these years.
I always come back to these "Gods Of Wrath" & "Beyond The Black" clips from Wacken '05. Awesome footage. Mesmerizing performance by Ronnie Munroe. I did a guitar cover of Gods Of Wrath, and may try this one. Thanks for the post.
Marc Storace was a candidate and would have sounded best but Axle got the drawing card, even though many returned their tix, the corporation and idiot managers gotta make their money.
I’ve been saying that he sounds like Jon Oliva for years! I even told Ronny personally that I wish he’d record Savatage’s “Dungeons are Calling”. He’d be great to front Savatage.
I keep hearing Mike is the best. There's no fucking way! Ronnie knocks him out of the water! Wish he could have stayed with them! Everytime I watch this video I freak out on his vocals!
I love metal church, metal the way it should be.i saw them with metallica in1986,metallica were angry and drunk.it is understandable after the horrific tragedy of cliff burtons death.metal church came on before metallica and i must be honest, metal church blew them away.lou csanko
