This is one of the latest proshot version and got a decent quality but trust me when i say you're gonna enjoy the official MV live in Japan even more, this version lacks of the outro with the girls hyping the crowd when using this song as an ender making this even more epic, so do yourself a favor and enjoy that 2015 version. Excellent reaction.🤘🦊This concert was at the PIA MM Arena in Yokohama on 2nd April last year, the second of the two concerts they played there and the concerts where they revealed the songs from the album they had just released that had not already been released as singles. Over the course of the two nights they played all of the new songs plus some of their old favourite song - such as 'Road of Resistance'. This one was one their second album in 2016, but it was being played live from the end of 2014 (they debuted it in London in December 2014) and it was also a bonus track on the re-release of their first album in 2015. I guess you got your answer about the crowd opening up and getting ready for the multiple Walls of Death and the subsequent circle pits.🤘 About the song itself - 'Road of Resistance', as you thought, is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow. Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song (it is the only one they were involved in) and recorded the guitars for the album version. They have said they made this more technical and faster than most of their own songs thinking they would never have to play it live ... and that they had to practice hard when they did perform it with BABYMETAL at an awards show in London later in 2015.

The video you were watching was uploaded by a fan a month ago. But actually this concert was held in April of 2023. So still relatively new but not quite as new you thought. The song itself came out in 2014 so almost 10 years ago.

This performance was at Clear Night at PIA Arena MM in Yokohama on April 2nd 2023. It was part of the Babymetal Begins - The Other One: Black Night & Clear Night show, which was a two night performance that introduced Momometal as the new member of the group and officially began the new era of Babymetal. I was one of the lucky international kitsune that got to be there for both nights, and it was an incredible show.

Babymetal live, definitely one of the best live experiences.

Grinton300 gave you tons of solid info already in his comment, but one thing I would like to add: Su's speech to the audience was very heartfelt, it concisely embodied all the turmoil Babymetal has faced in the past 5 years, as she thanked the audience for their support through the difficulties, along with their "charting" of a new path. If you recall from other comments from past videos, Since 2018, Babymetal has essentially lost Mikio (guitarist), original 3rd member Yui left, then Covid-19, followed by Babymetal's hiatus, and even some uncertainty with Kami Band (East) as members moved on to their own projects. Now, just the night before this show, Momoko was announced as 3rd official member, Kami Band (West) is in full support, and Babymetal embarking on new world tours. Shortly after this show, they began their EU tour with Sabaton, followed by thier US tour with Dethklok, and wrapping up with headlining tour in EU. Truly goes with the message of this song, even if you fall, find your burning passion in your heart to move forward towards on the uncharted path to your goals and dreams. Just a wondeful moment all around for Babymetal and the fans!

When I watch these videos, especially Su addressing the crowd and their response, I can't help but feel that this is much more than just music. I can't describe it, but it touches me every time, and I'm very happy that I'm part of The One.

This is a different "Road of Resistance" that were all used to seeing from the one back in the day, but nonetheless still cool too see. But nothing beats the original imo, that crowd was legendary

This song is usually played at the end of the show, but on this occasion it was the second song. The scene where Su addresses the audience in a respectful tone makes me emotional.

Thanks for the reaction! Su always calls for moshing at the beginning of Road of Resistance, so it just became a thing to automatically prepare for and do. Clear Night was the first concert that Momo was officially a member, so it has some significance in the BM fandom. These last three concert Blu-rays are also the first Blu-rays they have allowed in years to be uploaded to RU-vid in full for reactions, so they are going to become a common one to request.

Great song. If you like metal you need to check out LOVEBITES. Especially if you like 80s metal - Big 4, Maiden, Priest, etc. Recommend Judgement Day live. They are phenomenal! 🤘

The pitch correction is brutal on this, I know they like to clean things up in post production but Koba needs to stop the overuse of it. It just makes Su sound like a robot 😢
