Late response but what's more creepy is when you play on higher difficulties and then the black shadow quickly marches into another ray, and another fact is how infinite those Ray's look
I remember my first run with this guy *beats the first ray* "ok thats one down, so this should get ea-" *another ray jumps in taking its place* "....fuck off"
People don't really give Raiden much credit but let's look at this, Snake fought one and only Rex with some boxes to take cover and even needed Grey Fox's help. Raiden, on the other hand, took on 20+ Rays with no cover nor any help from anyone. And yes the Rays by themselves may be much weaker than Rex, but this is incredible and bad ass for someone who's a rookie with a personality and image that no one likes. Funny how people both in game (like Snake and Otacon) and from our perspective (us fans) doesn't give him the much credit for what he deserves. If this was Snake fighting those Rays, his bad ass reputation wouldve hiked even more by both in game characters and us fans. But a random nobody like Raiden doing badass things like this pretty much gives him an almost unsung hero status, like he's forgotten. Just goes to show how image plays such a crucial role in warping people's minds. If anything, MGS2 was just ballsy with the way they treated us fans just to convey a point.
The thing is, Raiden’s “skillset” may have been the ONLY trait he had that was badass. Throughout his run, there’s a lot of whining, complaining, indulging in self-pity, letting himself get derailed in pointless pointless petty couple arguments with Rose, etc. None of these behaviours are strong in regular life, let alone in a high-stakes mission where the soldier is supposed to be the top of the top of the elite of super-soldiers. When you start out with Snake’s laser-like focus, mental fortitude and no-nonsense stoic demeanour and then transition to Raiden’s whining and self-pitying and arguing with Rose over bullshit, not only does Raiden, seem pathetic as a supposed supersoldier but these behaviours are also unrealistic/incongruent with someone who is supposed to be an elite supersoldier. I think Kojima’s intention to subvert some expectations in MGS2 was super interesting and commendable. But I also think that it didn’t quite have the effect he was going for with this character.
@@MrSmoothSilver In short,Raiden is a badass in a way but he's every 17 years old on Twitter in MGS2. Even in MGR,I kinda think he's full with denial and often changes mind boss after boss
@@constantinethecataphract5949 snake destroyed the strongest metal gear. Metal gear REX. Metal gear RAYS were mass produced garbage made with weaker Armour.
Dude.. years later and I’m like “ok, just get them when they open their mouths”… no luck.. makes sense you hot them in the knees and then the mouth lol
This fight got a lot easier after realising that I can just walk under them, dodge the white ray, and shoot them on the head while the mouth is open to do the max damage. This took me many tries, but after figuring that out, it wasn't that bad. Overall it's a lot more intense fight that the one against REX in the first Solid game, but it's a bit anticlimactic seeing Metal Gears being taken down so fast.
Love this part, you are surrounded by a bunch of mechanical beasts and you have to fight 3 of them at the same time to survive. Also like how a new Ray runs from the background every time you take down of them. The atmosphere is so intense it's ridiculous.
i adored this boss fight the most out of any game.. it was challenging, fun and the robots are epic. my dad and my brother couldn't kill it and i was the only one who could. awesome times
I can't help but laugh with all the hate for Raiden. Sure, he was a bit of a...child...but i welcome him. He's just a character, people. Geez. But of course, every video game has to have that one hero everybody will hate.
Every time some one has a go at Raiden, I just think of this. The guy took down (depending on the difficulty) 5-25 metal gear rays, 3 at a time, with only a stinger missile. If that isnt the definition of bad ass, then just look at him now, as a cyborg ninja. Personally, I grew to like the guy, but he's still no snake.
Raiden as a human: *was able to destroy many normal rays* Raiden as a normal cyborg: *fought off multiple gekko units like they we’re absolutely nothing and are nothing and took out a genetically enhanced assassin and was able to yeet and absolutely shred an upgraded and modified ray* Raiden with his custom cyborg body: *Killed multiple AI’s, Cyborgs, Metal gears and a Nanotech advanced senator* What did we learn? Raiden throughout metal gear is kinda op
This boss is by far THE toughest out of all that I have faced, I've lost count how many times I have died on this battle...3 against 1 what a great idea!
Fight solidus on extreme, you're in for a treat. Honestly all the boss fights in this game are insane on extreme, even the harrier is ridiculously difficult.
If you shoot the gear in the knee and while its bent over shoot in the face it does extra damage on normal difficulty 3 in the face will destroy it! Found that out last night on accident!
i came here cuz i just got tired and wanted to see with my very two eyes if and actual end to this was designed or if this fight just keeped going and the game had no ending. now i know it actually ends at a point. good.
Idk.. If you're having a lot of trouble you can try using chaff grenades. It won't stop them from shooting but it'll prevent them from locking on. Meaning when they shoot, you can just walk to the side a couple steps and keep attacking. The key is to keep hitting the center one so it never has a chance to attack. Other than that you'll just have to endure until they stop. Also keep in mind; i'm playing on normal in this vid, so it may have been easier for me.
This fight feels creepy. Maybe it's cuz I'm more used to how the ray behaves in MGS4 and MGRR but something about these robots that I know are very fast and agile just, standing there like some kind of bone chilling horror staring at you while your frozen and can't move. The way they jump on the area, I'd be like if some titan standing in the void approached you.. it would be even worse if they tried to crush you.
You can also shoot them in the head while they're using the rail gun. Does the same amount of damage as shooting them in the head after you've shot them in the leg. You can easily bait the rail gun if you stand close in front of one and learn the timing.
Ahh, I remember this fight on extreme, you get one shot by anything if you don't wear the ballistic vest and you literally have to destroy all 25 of the rays that arsenal gear carries. Then after that I got the pleasure of fighting Solidus with no rations and only 1 tick left on the health bar, so I had to beat him without getting hit.
Ethan Lin I can confirm that it is HELL. I completed it today after at least 20 or so deaths. Took we about an hour total. Once you get a feel for the Rays attacks the fight is actually really quite easy.
Grey fox gets crushed by metal gear ray. Here raiden takes on several metal gear rays. Raiden cut off his own fucking arm to get out from under some boulders. THEN he manages to push back a ship. AND THEN comes back with no fucking arms and still reks bitches. Gray fox is shit compared to raiden. People need to stop viewing him through nostalgia goggles. He really isn't that great.
Oh man I put Ray instead of Rex my bad. But I mean come one guys. Gray fox was killed by a big robot with guns whereas raiden killed several big robots with guns.
Just beat 2, and I have so many questions. If the whole thing wasn’t a simulation, why does this fight look like it was fought in a VR room? Was this part fake?
Once, when I was 15, I decided to play the game on difficulty. Extreme and everything was plus or minus tolerably, up to this point. Here, my ass was torn as many times as they need to be destroyed on this difficulty, and I did it without a ration. But then she was with Solidus...
Well I can't beat it. I don't know what the fuck is up with this fight. They just keep FUCKING coming. I get through the rest of the game up to this with a breeze. Get here and I'm just stuck. Doesn't make any dam since.
I feel your pain. I'm no amazing player of this game and I got it recently but I'm at this part with 2 rations and no bandages do if I ever get hurt that bad I have to stop and heal but then those things fuck me up. I got up to the 4th robot and got killed.
SpazticzGamer I figured it out. When you fight each one. Run all the way to the side of them. They can shoot you then. Or its harder for them cause your more of taking charge of them in the fight. But still avoid getting to close and dodge rockets. I had to fight like 7 of them on my ps2 to pc emulator.
***** yea i got to this mission at night time and i was getting screwed over every time and then the next morning i tried again and i beat them in 4 tries and OMG i have never felt more satisfied in my life
I have to admit though, as much as I love both designs (especially the second one, although I still think the water jet is more creative and bada**)...I still can't get over those feet. They look so ridiculous that if someone had shown me the design in a blueprint I would have turned to the guy and said "Are you freaking SERIOUS!?" XD
I remember this boss fight pissing me off so much because it was so hard XD. I love how they make you think it's endless too, like they keep coming it really just starts to break you lol. Really though I'm glad this boss was tough af, when I beat it I was so happy but now it seems that games can be a little to easy on bosses.
wow i remember playing this shit back in the days during the summer. just grinding out the hardest difficulty. this fucking level took the life outta me. i remember my voice got instantly deeper the moment i beat this level.
As I've said, I have yet to play ANY of the games, but I read about it once when I tried to figure out what that machine was even called (I practically fell in love with it when I saw it in the background of Shadow Moses Island in Smash Bros. Brawl, because I'm a sucker for large mechs XD). It also sounds surprisingly like a laser in this video, and it IS replaced by a laser in the future of the series, judging from another video I saw before this one that showed Cyborg Raiden destroying one.
Its hard to see through other people's perspective, but I understand. The jump from Snake to Raiden was absurd to most people, but I say Kojima made a great decision. And people don't realize this. Wasn't Snake digitally engineered or something? Raiden's just a human. Some of you guys can be pretty judgeful, and stubborn I see!XD
my favorite part of this games was when a bunch of giant robots run a train on a defenceless twink but seriously though, man after this fight playing the intro of metal gear rising was so satisfying
It's an endless amount. You just have to kill a certain number of them (Not sure exactly how many). I read that if you use chaff grenades on in this fight it'll make it a bit easier. Also try not to stand too close to them or they will use that laser thingy. Other than that just blast it in the face a bunch of times. Keep in mind I did this on normal difficulty :P
if u want to be more safe and follow the rhythm.. first round just aim on head for each of three ray, dont forget to collect ration if appear bcoz second round its not easy to collect.. and for second round just attack after the ray release a light bom,if u have a seek time shoot also the other two. aim first its one foot then head (kill much) .. kill them until B04F appear.. when its appear means u must kill one more LAST
Now compare these metal gears to the one in rising that could hop around hundreds of feet, shoot dozens of missiles from its arm, turn the other arm into a sword, withstand being thrown hundreds of feet then getting its arm cut off, has a giant laser that melts buildings in an instant, and had several machine guns all over it In short: raiden would not have been the mc of mgr for over 10 minutes if it weren’t for all the cyborg upgrades
