I'm not gonna lie, this is SO MUCH better done and spookier than in the Twin Snakes version. Just seeing the aftermath of Gray Fox's rampage is downright haunting.
Holy hell, this is my childhood. Some kids remember SpongeBob and other stuff, but this is my childhood right here. Must have played this a dozen times through.
I remember the first time playing this game as an 8 year old back in the 90s. I felt so sorry for that guy barely still alive. I knew this was about to be a boss and it was the first time I was kind of afraid to see what I was up against before walking through that door. Little did I know I was about to experience one of the most epic battles in gaming history!
i was litterally just remembering this. at 7 years old i tried to put that guy out of his missery. Who'd thought that 7-8 year old could come up with the concept of "mercy killing"
Made even better by the fact that he has already crossed paths with the ninja at this point, so he already knows there's a lunatic with a katana hanging around but is still like "uh. I wonder what happened to these guys."
I remember feeling scared as a kid entering that hall way. it gave me nightmares. I was 8 years old.....geeeez im 30 now. It still freaks me out. But i still play this game and it still instills the same fear. I love this game and ill play it until i die.
Ive played this game countless times.this fight is so iconic.when he sees all the dead guys and then who did it he realized shit just got real.lol best intro IMHO i this game brings back so many memories.gray fox was my favorite.

you can use thermal goggles to see the 2 guys he just killed to be warm, and the others are cold. and yes that 1 guy is still breathing barely. the game is full of details like these if you just pay attention. none of these kind of details after mgs2 btw.
If you have the mine detector, I believe he will appear on the Soliton Radar. Also, if you don't mind fighting dirty, you can completely disable him with Chaff Grenades. Aside from that you'll just have to keep a keen eye for his barely visible outline when he's in stealth mode.
At the time this game came out I had never beaten a game that was thing long…. I don’t really remember maybe some of you do, but I think if you played it through efficiently it was around four-six hours…..? I liked the second one on the oil rigs too…. Game really was incredible and gnarly/violent at times… Like a movie. Never got into the later ones…. “Hu, ……. What was that noise????” “Whose footrprints are these?” 😂

Definitely. It was almost too flashy, and the new controls made the game almost too easy. That's why I'm not sure if I'm for or against a MGS remake. Nostalgia vs difficulty...
