i guess this room full of stinger is somewhat useful if you're playing on a difficulty with scarse ammo ? this gives you some spare stinger ammo for the rex boss fight.
No you didn't, you could go back to here just by using the 2nd disc, you didn't need to swap back to the 1st disc, they simply included this area on both discs.
You can actually go back to all disc 1 areas without swapping. Area, item and enemy data are on both discs for whatever reason. I remember as a kid I wanted to test how far you'll get without swapping back to disc 1 an I got back to the heliport.
Not useless, just disappointing. Earlier in the game doing some quick backtracking can earn you the night vision goggles before you leave the tank hanger. But here, being diligent and remembering that level 7 door only nets you ammo. It's useful, particularly if you're playing on hard, but it really should have rewarded the player with something more.
But you get the Level 7 card from Raven, and his arena respawns Stinger ammo whenever you leave and re-enter. You can stock up much quicker just walking in and out of his room rather than backtracking all the way back here
It's the only level 7 room in the whole game, and the first time you see it you don't have the right card. So it teases you to come back, and all you get is ammo that is already plentiful at that stage. Come on, you telling me you weren't a little disappointed?
I wouldn't call a room full of stinger missiles useless especially when you're about to go up against Rex by the time you get the level 7 card in the first place.
Eh, if you deem a room useless because there is ammo or other usefull items in there that means nearly every room is pointless, keycard requirement or not.
