thanks great sunday for you both! Great Episode! it occurs to me that maybe you should consider to divide bands in the listening part from region like europe nordic, central, us, uk, and revelation. to listen a lit a bit how the genre is translated across the world. have a great day you too!
@@MercilessGuitar151 I don't see what having a guitarist and designing a guitar have to do with one another. I think she'd perfectly capable of designing a guitar, and if Ola feels that is something he would like to do, it absolutely would be killer.

Definitely ask him about the grape tele tho, it's a cool guitar but it's nothing like his other guitars...the duet with Einar from Leprous was fairly epic, as well.
‘In the Nightside Eclipse’ is an absolute masterpiece. Still today, 27 years later, it’s just amazing. I remember hearing that in 1995/6 and it changed the musical path I was on. Ihsahn is a genius - he was 16 when he wrote and recorded that album!
Mgla, Groza (Solar artist), Uada... some newer bands worth checking out. If you ask around, the other two are probably seen as Mgla clones. But there are differences. Just have to listen.
Came here to mention mgła but I’m surprised he didn’t mention shining (swe) or any DSBM but I get it like they said early in the video they’ll miss some who others thing are the most important
Haha...it turned out that swedish people are not ready for the power of glorious polish plum. :D Greetings and thank you for throwin me in your episode!
@@OlaEnglund could you do a video on Euronymous's guitar tone cause I still can't get his tone even though I have a Boss HM2 pedal and a overdrive pedal
These Polish sweets evoked some warm feelings in me. I'm from Russia and I don't speak Polish, but I totally understand what is ptasie mleczko, sliwka and so on
Haha! Louise is such a sweetheart. I’d love to see you teach her more guitar on Metal Morning, Ola. Also, thank you so much for going a video on black metal. It makes me very happy. 🤘🏻😈🤘🏻
You can easily say that Poland is the new capital of black metal, lots of bands that are amazing, have their own sound, and some of them have a well balanced producttion - still raw, but you can clearly hear what is going on. I highly recommend listening to some newer BM bands from Poland :-) Had fun hearing you say polish candy names :-)
DIMMU BORGIR got me with ENTHRONE DARKNESS TRIUMPHANT album - VORTEX ghostly vocals made them sound amazing, with HellHammer (Mayhem) complimenting the whole bands sound. Love their new sound - but miss the lineup after Vortex and Mustis left. Daray on the drums is a great replacement for HellHammer and Nick Barker. Glad you mentioned them in the video this week. Louise looks great in the All Black clothes, and shoes. OLA... You look ok too
Well that’s it then now I expect to not only hear Louise sing, guitar, need more guitar. You guys are so fun together and I love to see the both of you having fun!!
People should check out the Enslaved - Heimvegen documentary series on RU-vid. It is about Enslaved but covers a lot about the Norske svart metal. It's really good, especially as an Enslaved fan.. :D
Whether it's SWOLA or this (I work Wednesdays all through Sundays) I always wind up watching these at the end of a busy week and your shows always act as a catharsis for whatever sucky ass things happened that week or if I had a an awesome week, it just amplifies the coolness of things. Thanks!! -Khris /m/ /m/
This one was my favorite so far ! Love the interaction between you and your wife and the editing with sound effects with the lights and other stuff you two make me smile and laugh!
I am LOVING this new series! Question for Louise: Seeing as she isn't as familiar/comfortable with speaking English as Ola is, does she still enjoy being on the show?
Love the new T-stye axes! The dark brown would look excellent with some kind of patinated or distressed brass, and the black is awesome with black on black, but that steel pickguard on the brown one would look great, also. My wife & I love your Sunday shows. Keep 'em coming!
Great show as always xD I have a cup of questions for te next episodes FAQ : I remember when you barely know about Megadeth and now seems you like it. I'm so glad to see that. Hope you dig and enjoy the rest of the dischography too. Did you become interested a llitle more in their albums ? wich is your favorite and why ? Ohh and I have a Question for the Metal Morning with Louis. - How was your first Date and, Did she see you playing live with your band any time before the first date ? Greetings from Argentina, We still waiting for the next The Haunted Tour !!!
The Puritanical album by DB was my first introduction to black metal, at 14 years old. It blew me awaaaay! Such a great production, man. I remember sometime in the mid-2000s, my local rock radio station played a Cradle of Filth song (It must've been requested) and not even a minute and a half in, the station canned it. Sounded too scary for Mississippi. Haha!
Used a Mark IV with a JCM 800 4x12 from the 80's loaded with the T75's at a gig 2 days ago, and it sounded absolutely freaking MASSIVE. Our lead player was using a Mini Rec with the matching 1x12 mixed up and it was awesome.
I love that a show featuring a black metal explainer, ended on that note. That is why I love this format. Color me impressed with the F barre chord… on a 7-string, no less!
Creepy legends and traditions abound everywhere, I was terrified by the Mari Llwyd as a child (think horse skull on a stick with a hinged jaw carried around by someone covered completely by a black hood and cloak)...
1983 I saw Venoms Black Metal album and I stole it. I’m guessing I was possessed by Satan, being 12 at the time I had never thought to steal anything ever before. Anyway to this day Venom is still my favourite band. And I have more than paid back my stealing the album by spending 1000’s on all their albums and merch. Great video Ola, thanks for the memories. LAY DOWN YOUR SOUL TO THE GODS ROCK AND ROLL!
No matter what time of day you watch this, it'll get you in a good mood! So, Metal Morning is my Metal Evening today. - Cradle of Filth! Name from my past! - Someone I used to know back when I lived in Sheffield (Martin Powell) was in their line-up around the same time as Adrian. Small world!

I came for the black metal and stayed for the lesson
Our best monster is La Llorona, a woman whose children drowned and so she forever haunts waterways searching for her children and stealing other children who get too close.
You were spot on with Black Metal fans only listening to Black Metal. Ive been obsessed for the past 8 years or so, still love it. Bands like Taake and Djevel, and Im sure a lot more, have stayed true to raw Satanic Black Metal but they've stepped up their production which I love. I personally dont believe poor production defines Black Metal. Even most of Burzum's later albums are good production. "From The Depths Of Darkness" was Burzum taking a handful of his old songs and remaking them with good production, better guitar playing, and better/ non-shrieking vocals. Another thing I'll point out is the best Black Metal comes out of Norway, theres no way around it. From the 2nd wave in the 90's to today, Norwegians just understand true Black Metal. Seeing as how America is going to shit I'd love to move to Norway and start or join a band. 🤘🏼🇳🇴
Ola, let's jam man. If you're ever in Florida, I have a musichouse set up for gettin' in the mix and proving what metal you're made of. Heavy metal brotherly battery. I mean brotherly love. Maybe I'll get Glenn Benton to come by, yes that dude! Shit's about to get real!!! Btw, really digging the newest Solar guitar in the lineup. I'm a drummer btw, and a guitarist for decades. Ola..truely a case of wrestling with my musical identity. A hearty dose of radical acceptance and staying behind the drum kit long enough to do the work... I now know why I could never find 'THE' drummer. The reality surfaced that I can't play guitar & drums at the sametime and the drummer I've been long searching for...is me.
Funeral Mist, Marduk, War(a.k.a. Total War), Infernal War, Thunderbolt, Beherit, Deus Mortem, Arkona(Poland), Iperyt(industrial black/death metal), Massemord(Norway), Hellhammer, Graveland, Angelcorpse(This is not pure black metal, I know, but they inspired a lot of BM bands ), Blasphemy, ...
@@MercilessGuitar151 that does not mean he isn't a wise man, and has wonderful insightfully knowledge that this man can provide even tips if anything.🤘
Dimmu Borgir when vortex sings in progenies of the great apocalypse was epic. Both them and cradle of filth were some bands I listened to quite a bit around 2006
27:05 from what I understand the Mare is basically a succubus and has other names in different countries based on ancient folklores but all depicts more or less the same entity.
Yeah, Litourgiya from Batushka is the real stuff, definitely worth the listen! Even though I don't really listen to black metal, the Batushka won it's stable place in my playlists :D Cool video!
I love this guitar! I looked up the one with the kind of rust color or brownish with the metal looking pick guard of course it's the most expensive. So then the one most in my price range is the green florescent. It still has very good parts. I guess we'll see?
Blerk Mertal 🤘🏻🔥 ⛪️ 🔥 Enslaved, Satyricon, Darkthrone, “Gahlgoroth”, Mayhem, Celtic Frost, Emperor, and dare I say Burzum. Staples in my regular listening. Darkthrone is some of the best crusty shit going! I’m also a sucker for some Dimmu Borgir or Old Man’s Child, and Isahn is an absolute virtuoso 🤘🏻
I remember that Tattoo the Planet show in Stockholm (2001), where Pantera cancelled. That was the first time I saw In Flames and Cradle of Filth live. Yes, apart from Slayer and CoF, the bands that played were In Flames and Amorphis. I specifically remember when Dani at some point gave his mic to Adrian, and Adrian said, in a very Gothenburg accent: “Kom igen nu, Stockholm, det är jag som är trött, ênte ni!” (Come on Stockholm, I’m the one who’s tired, not you).
