Hi Evan, we have managed to turn stainless blue through too much heat, it was only 1-2mm thick though. Absoulte nightmare, on the yachts we work on there's lots of thin aesthetic stainless steel items.

That is impressive. I have tried to turn it blue or burn it and haven't succeeded yet. I would love to know how you achieved it.

Yo, catching up with your videos, your channel looks good, professional, and informative, this particular vid was helpful, just to give you an example of your do-everything type viewers like me, what does it mean when you say “COLOR”. Or putting the “color coat” or whatever? Thanks! I’m looking for a vid that shows the cutting or polish of those drain holes in dump trucks too.

Evan, What do you think causes a white flannel buff to spit rouge. Running it at low speed probably 1500-2000 and it throws small specs of black that then don’t come off with the buff. Thanks!!!!

Evan…I have pits in my pontoons….can they be removed and how?..seems to be a question most avoid.!!!
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing Год назад
Yes they can be sanded. If they are deep you'll sand light and then just make them shiny pits. If they are light pits you can sand them out and shine it up. You might find this video helpful. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i9klCSlwCn0.html This isn't a pontoon specifically but the process is exactly the same. Thank you for watching and thank you for the great question. Appreciate you watching and commenting.

Hi Evan are the compounds you use on both stainless and aluminium the same compounds
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing 10 месяцев назад
I use different compounds on each. Green can be used on both metals but the brown should only be used on aluminum and the black should only be used on stainless. Will they work on the other metals sure. But will they work good or efficiently, no not really. Great question.

I accidentally put two different compounds on my wheel (didn’t label my wheels) would raking them out solve cross contamination?
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing 28 дней назад
Not really. You can always put a more abrasive over the top and still use it. Example if it was a green rouge you can use brown over it but it'll never go back to a green rouge buff. I hope that makes sense.

When would you use the Zephyr Orange Ruffy wheel? I accidentally bought one thinking it was a regular orange buff. Is it useful at all on aluminum?

It is very possible. You just need to match your pressure and your overlap with each other. If your overlap and pressure match then you will have no white lines or black lines.
