Hi 55 year-old male from Toronto Canada here. I just want to say how much I enjoy your show. I grew up at a time where you lined up for tickets, went down at midnight for the new album by a favourite band. I honestly thought the generations after me that music had just become background noise. I myself have taken so much form music over the years. it has helped me through so many situations and definitely influenced my opinions. it’s heartwarming to see that there are still young people out there still have that drive. As far as your musical tastes developing beyond progressive rock. The haters out there that are going to walk away because of that don’t seem to understand what music is about. Music should always lead you to the next thing. It’s awesome that a person, at such a young age as yourself, has already figured that out. Thanks, you’re show rocks! I look forward to more content.

As a prog fan I really like your show. But I am also a metal fan, had the opportunity to see Meshuggah the last time they played here in Stockholm, great concert. (I am 62 years old and have a daughter that is 21 and plays bass. :). ) Good show, keep it up!
It’s interesting the Metal albums you picked up are all stuff I’d avoid for me they’re Metal Hammer fair a magazine I avoid like the plague as a Metalhead, my recommendation’s for you are Blood Incantation & Dream Unending two of the best bands currently on the scene making groundbreaking music
Great album show Niamh! Haven’t been able to buy any albums lately but I’m going to this week. Colored vinyl is awesome. Mine have always played fine. Funny how people seemed to abandon you when you started to post about other genres, kinda close minded I feel. I’ve been going back through my collection year by year and relistening to it. I’m on 1983 right now and there’s a lot in there that’s not prog, hard rock, or metal. Just great music! Have a great week!
Thanks for saying that of you love the albums, you can never have enough copies of them. It justifies me having 4 vinyl copies of Stormbringer by Deep Purple; a fully autographed copy, an original, original Japanese with Obi, and a remix on purple vinyl. Ah, you ease my mind...

Hey Niamh. OT but wanted to say i am very glad your channel is going strong. Hope all is well. I know life can often be crazy . . . Anyway just thought it would be interesting if you did one of those "favorite songs/albums of the year" series. I know other channels do this but it would be interesting to get your choices - in addition to those of your community. On a personal level, it would give me a chance to update my own lists and fill in gaps i have for some years - particularly for the 2010's . . . Maybe you could please consider this . . . Perhaps go in REVERSE order from a "starting" year to make things a bit different. Or pick years randomly and give us a week's notice each time so we can work on our own lists. as much as I do like that lorna shore ep to me their masterpiece is their last album pain remains. the final trilogy is one of the most emotionally crushing and stunning pieces of music that I have listened to in the last years.20 minutes of pure perfection. So happy i'm gonna see them live in about a month in milan , italy

You should try the last Tomb mold record. If you like prog this probably will get you into more extreme metal. Atheist, Gorguts or Cynic are good gateway bands for the genre
My favorite Gojira album is Magma but I don't think I can recommend getting it. Maybe I just got a dud because the the transfer was terrible. It's mildly distorted and really low. Maybe you'll have better luck than me.
