Metal Vocalist First Time Reaction - The Pearl Fishers’ Duet - Placido & Dimash 

I cannot imagine being Dimash, at 29 years old, having been “discovered” only 7 years ago, being invited by operatic legend Placido Domingo to sing a duet with him!!! Not perform another song at the event, but a DUET!! Dimash’s heart must be so full of gratitude and admiration!!

John, in your reaction you forgot to mention that Dimash is singing with Maestro Placido Domingo! Dimash would never dream of anyone reacting to this and only mentioning him and not the legendary Maestro Domingo!

it is a wonderful treat to see the legendary placido domingo -- opera singer, conductor, arts administrator -- still perform in his 80s. although he is singing more as a baritone in this duet due to his age, the qualities that has made mr domingo a megastar of the opera world is still there. a true maestro! people sometimes forget that dimash qudaibergen is himself a trained opera singer, and that he was once offered a job at his country's main opera house. so it must have been a thrill for him to be able to perform this classic duet with the maestro!

I got the feeling that you don’t know who Plácido Domingo is. Plácido Domingo is a world-renowned, multifaceted artist. Recognized as one of the finest and most influential singing actors in the history of opera, he is also a conductor and a major force as an opera administrator. His repertoire now encompasses more than 150 roles, with over 4000 career performances. I grew up with the legend Plácido Domingo and now to see him singing a duet with Dimash is… I’m lost of words. Also a childhood dream of Dimash came true to share the stage with this legend. 2 legends on stage with one of the most difficult pieces for a tenor opera singer, that’s a duet which will go down in the annals of music history.

Thank you so much!!! It was one of Dimash's dreams to meet and work with Maestro Domingo. Dimash shared that, as a 5 year old, he had a VHS of a concert by Maestro Domingo and he dreamed from that day to have the opportunity to meet him. We Dears waited about a month for this release and we are all so happy. I am sure Dimash appreciated the opportunity to support young artists at the invitation of Maestro Domingo.

I love how the legendary Maestro, Placido Domingo, fully embraces Dimash’s talent, and his ability to sing. Dimash is being publicly embraced by the elite opera/ classical virtuosos. So very touching.

I saw Dimash's lower teeth more than I can remember. And the two of them together was amazing! Beautiful!

You’re absolutely right about the structure of his mouth, the back of the mouth is very open, the soft palate is raised, the mouth is rounded and the tongue is lowered, yes that description sounds weird to anyone who doesn’t sing or hasn’t sung before, but ironically that’s exactly how I knew Dimash’s voice was real, I watched his mouth, yes I used to sing classically. It automatically deepens the tone or makes it fuller, I guess that’s how you’d describe it IDK 😂. I was So thrilled to see that you had watched this (and Okay), this is such a historic moment in Dimash’s life, and apparently it was Placido’s grandson who introduced Dimash’s voice to Placido from RU-vid, so this was all at Placido’s request, which is So Amazing! Dimash s-a întâlnit cu Maestrul Placido Domingo la Budapesta-Ungaria, unde el va avea concert solo pe 4 mai 2024. Întâlnirea a fost cu bucurie pentru ambii. Placido Domingo i-a spus că îl știe de pe RU-vid și este uimit că vocea lui Dimash cuprinde 6 octave. Desigur bucuria lui Dimash a fost imensă. Atunci Maestrul i-a propus să facă un duet, dar l-a rugat pe Dimash să fie de acord ca el, Maestrul să cânte în tonalitate de bas, spunandu-i lui Dimash că vocea lui de tenor nu mai este ca în tinerețe. Desigur că Dimash a acceptat cu mare bucurie. Maestrul Placido Domingo a împlinit ieri, pe 22 ianuarie, 83 de ani. Mai mare bucurie pentru Dimash nu cred că era decât aceasta, să cânte cu Maestrul. Tot atunci Placido Domingo i-a propus să facă parte din juriul concursului Virtuoso, ceea ce s-a și întâmplat. Dimash era atât de bucuros de întâlnirea neașteptată încât l-ar fi luat în brațe pe Maestru. A fost un moment atât de frumos, inclusiv reacția plină de încântare a lui Placido Domingo. Wanted to really point out: People don't realize how MUCH of an honor this was, not only because one of the most beautiful tenors in the world chose him to sing this song, but because he allowed him to take the higher tenor and he chose the lower tenor, because even though his voice is still spectacular even at his young age of 83, it's more difficult for him to sing the higher tenors. That he chose Dimash to share this spectacular operatic song is the HIGHEST of honors and Dimash must be over the MOON. It's exactly where he was fated to be since the day he was born and he's finally arrived. Also, did you notice the stare that Placido gave him towards the end, right after the moment that you mentioned Dimash clenched his fist? Almost like Placido, himself was in awe of the strength of his voice. This was almost too unbearable to watch in it's sheer beauty. I think I've watched it about 75 times since it's release on Friday!🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍

Maestro Domingo is 81 now and while his voice may not have the power it once did, it's still beautiful. Dimash did a superb job of blending with him. Dimash has obviously been training his voice in the lower registers and seems to be headed to the other end of the keyboard. I have no doubt he will make it.
