When they released the audio-only version (first) I swear you could not tell when Scott switched to Matt and when Kirstin switched to Mitch. You just could not tell. This is not an accident -- they know exactly how to match each other tonality to you can't tell them apart. I think it's one of their "secret sauces".
Only way I could tell was each of them had a different sushi roll topper. Otherwise I couldn't tell between Kirstie and Mitch. Plus Kirstie had on tall heels. Mitch for once did not. LOL 😆 🤣
Ok, now you need to listen to their cover of Gold originally by Kiiara (and DO listen to that first). It will lay the groundwork to make it through Aha! at the Star Vista, Singapore later on, without your head exploding.😋
They are dressed as some of the characters in the Lion King...Matt & Scott are Pumba & Timon, Mitch is Zazu, Kevin is Simba & Kirstie is Nala...this is one of my fav songs that they do...I can listen to it over & over...it's the best...thank you for your reactions...I love to watch them!!!
As they say about many of PTX's covers, they are upgrades more than covers. When I first heard their version Of this, it was good. Second time extremely good. The third time was phenomenal. The voices, the harmonies, the arrangement, the beat-box and "everything else" are right in the cupboard. I'm wildly excited.
I love your reactions to them. I think we all have the same reaction..lol...I just wanted to congratulate Scott & His Husband Mark on their Marriage this weekend.
I can name 3 to 4 dozen more influential 'songs' that PTX has performed over the years... BUT IMHO, THIS SONG is vocally arranged and performed to attain the most magical harmonies that this, the very best a cappella group in the world, HAS EVER PERFECTED! This one is really special!
Awesome reaction dude!!! This is one of my all time faves by them. Hope you and the family are doing well. Thanks for your dedication in getting these videos out to us. I appreciate your sacrifices in enduring a hot sweaty attic. You are the man!!! LOL 😆 🤣 Anyway, I have a suggestion for you that I know you will love. Pentatonix did a collaboration with Todrick Hall. Todrick was on American Idol quite a few years back and has a very nice voice himself. He and Avi came together and worked on this play? Movie short? Well, whatever it's called. They do the entire Wizard of Oz movie in under 4 minutes!! It is so amazing! People tend to forget about this one. It is fantastic!! Pentatonix with Toddrick Hall "The Wizard of Ahhs" I guarantee you will love it! You.will laugh for sure when you see the costumes.. Sending you love from Texas!!! Peace my friend!
Kind of funny as I watched the Wizard of Oz with my kids… TODAY! Good timing! And the attic is still hot indeed but I have found a fan to help a bit in between recordings. I’m just glad you enjoy the vids :)
@@VikingReacts Oooh!! Now I can't wait to see your face!! Just pause it when you see the Munchkins...you will laugh so hard! Tears will flow down your cheeks...too funny 😁 😂 Oh Kirstie really stands out in this one. Her Broadway training shows. (Yes, she was on Broadway!) Peace ✌️
yes please, this is an awesome colaboration! Todrick is obsessed with Oz lore and took a long time finding all the right songs to tell the story, it is soo soo good! The dog in it is Todrick and it is named Toto as well lol
When they sing together and you can’t figure out who’s doing what, just think Mirstie and enjoy it. I’m so glad you finally got to this one. Great job.
Wow, thank you. I do still see myself as just another guy uploading effectively very basic videos but there are people enjoying them. That to me is still amazing! :)
One of my favs by PTX, It is like a heavenly choir breaking out. tears of joy for something so beautiful. Matt's bassline in this is S I C K!!!! Perfection.
The high note that everything body thanks Kristy is doing is actually Mitch. Their outfits are as follows Scott (Pumbaa), Matt (Timon), Kirsty (Nala), Kevin (Simba) and Mitch is (Zazu).
Kirsten is really the star of this one, even though everyone else is as fantastic as ever. She was doing so much vocal gymnastics it's unbelievable! 😁👍
I'd love to see you do their Sing Off performances! It was their first ever performance as a group in a live setting, they did 11 or so amazing songs that lead to their win. I recommend ones that have the judge's words, we Pentaholics have dubbed Shawn Stockmen from Boys to men and sing off Judeg the first ever Pentaholic. and Their cover of Dogs Days are over hold the first ever Mitch slap. It's so fun to back to see where they started, and know that they just keep getting better.
Their Greatest Show cover is a must hear. It is a lyrical video, but one of my favorites. Love The Lion King but got so sick of hearing the song on the radio over and over again. They brought such a new life to it and I listen to it in the car almost daily now. Love it! You are by far, one of my favorite reactors. Thanks for doing what you do and being you!
They also have a cover/mv of Nightmare Before Christmas's Making Christmas! I'd love to see you react to it! They also do Once Upon a December from Anastasia and Wish Upon a Star from Pinocchio, but alas no videos. However, they are still WELL worth a listen/reaction!
That last bit with the fireflies always gets me soppy. The combination of the harmony, the lights and the words of the song are magic. Thanks for the great reaction.
A ten out of ten? Yes, they did a stupendous job of this cover. I think Sir John would be happy with it. You're right that it's hard to distinguish between Mitch and Kirstie sometimes. I love how they often do a wall of sound...especially in well known songs...and it's always different in how they arrange it with the interweaving harmonies. That has to be a lot of work. FYI....Scott has an album coming up at the end of this month called Parallel. It'll be released on the 28th of July, but he's already released two of the songs on the album...Parallel and Four. Parallel he released two weeks ago and Four he released on Friday..his wedding day. Also Mitch has another solo, Oblivion coming out on the 14th of this month under his Messer persona.
They amaze me constantly. Every time I listen to them. My favorite live performance is "Joyful Joyful" Live from the evergreen experience. You will love it.
Popspring 2016 please if you haven’t done it yet. 3 originals and the Evolution of MJ. Also Light in the Hallway. Written by Scott for his nephew. Avi has the lead in 5-part harmony.
Yes, PTX takes us on an emotional roller coaster with this one! Such a great cover. And how the group constantly changes up the lead singer, and always delivers a little surprise, even after all these years, means they are never boring or predictable. Great reaction... genuine and fun!
Sooooo much ear candy here. Mitch Slapped too. I swear they’re from another planet. 😂 They truly enjoy what they do and I love it. Great reaction from you! It was a joy to watch! SO... I’d like to recommend the artist Corvyx. He’s gothic, strong vocals, emotive and his covers are a mix of whoa and breathtaking. I recommend his cover of My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion. Breathtaking. I prefer it over the original. Promise you won’t be disappointed!
Stunning as always!!! Also Scott just got married and released a new song on his wedding day called Four, let’s just say I keep having to touch up my makeup after I listen to it. Also Mitch, under the name Messer is releasing a new song called Oblivion on the 14th of this month.
Many people comment of course on Kirstin and Mitch's voices in combination -- I believe they deliberately imitate each other sometimes so you cannot distinguish between them when they do a unison or when one takes over for the other. But if they want to blend and keep distinct sounds they do that too of course.
Always great seeing someone who is in awe as much as I am watching these unbelievably talented human beings display a masterpiece. First time I heard this that " in perfect harmony " line summed up this video to a "T". Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
Thank you for the great reaction to this beautiful Pentatonix video. They are amazing. There is a Behind The Scenes video for this one that you may want to watch in your free time. It's great. Part of it shows them in a backstage dressing room working on this arrangement while on tour.
Scott, Mitch and Kirstin have known each other for probably 20 years now. They are pretty much triplets separated at birth.....The odds of three people that are that talented finding each other and remaining friends is just miniscule. Only the powers of the universe could make that happen. Pentaholics are fine with Christmas music any time of year. It's Christmas everyday....as long as PTX is getting played.
I love this song from the movie but this version always makes me feel so emotional. such a great job from them. Voiceplay are really good for their covers. They are an acapella group too. Geoff's bass is insane.
Loved your comments about Matt!! He gets overlooked a lot and he radiates joy at all times. Actually I sent scree shot of both things you said about him to him on Twitter. Paused the video to send you this right before Kirstin solo. Can't wait for the gianormous Mitch slap that's coming.
Lol, I can’t say the same thing every time :p. I might as well record some soundbites and use them in every video. But yes, she is and will ever be the pocket version Valkyrie ;)
If you are interested in seeing the band members as individuals, not just performers, please consider checking out World Tour 2019, episode #0. Also very important to react to "Recording of Evergreen" to see how they make the magic.
I absolutely love this arrangement, it's so beautiful. I really enjoyed your reaction and I'm really glad they did your favorite full justice! They were styled as the characters, like, of course, Kirstin in Nala, and Mitch is Zazu, lol. There is a Behind the Scenes video if you are interested.
I love it when music carries a special, personal meaning! I’m too old to hold The Lion King in any kind of reverential awe, but I understand the inclination. It’s the same place Mary Poppins holds in my heart. Lovely, lovely reaction by you once again, and always appreciated. (I also appreciate your restraint as applied to Kirstie’s wardrobe.) Peace …
It’s not so much the movie that holds the meaning. It is the music, the words, the emotion, the love within this very song. It has been a source of healing and hope at some point in my life. It prepared me for my current role as a husband and a father…
@@VikingReactsI can still say Supercalifragilicious backwards, thanks to the song. (No clue if that’s spelled right.) And I love Let’s Go Fly A Kite, in addition to the two you mentioned. If you have never seen it, the movie Victor, Victoria starring Julie Andrews is worth watching.
I really love your reaction. I noticed exactly when you started to tear up. Actually just right before it hit. Another song that's all Kristie is my eyes. She Really shows off her power in shallow. I don't know if you know Kevin plays the cello while he's Boxing. He calls it cello boxing.
Perfect reaction to perfect harmony from “Perfect”atonix!! Match made in heaven for sure 😊💜 Btw I love your rewinds and caption comments. I think you should do their live Joyful Joyful from the Evergreen Experience. It technically is not a Christmas song (it’s from one of the Sister Act movies) and it is AWESOME.
And I just love that you love that (no pun intended). My wife just send me a link for another group called Voctave doing 3 other disney songs of which at least 1 is very dear to me. Kirsten is part of that video as well ;). See you there?
Can’t believe I missed ANOTHER livestream! *DAMN!* I need more advance warning. Have missed you! Great reaction, welcome back! Love the one or two Mitch and Kirstie surprises! Can’t wait for your concert coverage. You may wanna rethink your holiday only Xmas reactions - with over 200 songs in their Christmas catalog you’ll be overwhelmed! Can’t wait for your next one…keep ‘em coming!
