Bryan Vásquez Velasquez solo probs to hard for Kirk now adays with his arthritis plus it’s hard to sing for James getting the high notes in the fast section
Wow! Simply amazing. Am I evil? Doubt it, but whenever I am angry, depressed, sad, frustrated or otherwise in a bad mood, this will recharge me, what a song!
My all-time fav performance of Am I Evil. James vocals with that kind of phaser-ish feel to it fits it perfectly. And the bass line Jason riiiight when the main riff kicks in is 😚🤌
They rarely played the entire song because Kirk struggles with that solo (you can hear him fucking up mid solo before they cut away). Look at the old videos of how easily Mustaine played it. No comparison.
Literally just watched the boys with Dave play in 83 before this video, Dave plays the tapping part flawlessly and even added his own taste abit to it. It’s been said so many time before though, but I think it was best that Dave left the band. He wouldn’t admit it but we’ve seen two absolutely house rockers of a band play for 40+ years.
Kirk could of easily played this in the 80s and Kirk probably hasn’t played this solo for years because as said they rarely play this song live. Obviously you don’t play guitar.
Metallica at the New York Roseland Ballroom '98 was the last time Kirk played this flawlessly. It is NOT an easy solo, `and not many guitarists at an "older" age can play this without fault.
It's not a difficult solo. There's the same old licks and techniques that Hammett does all the time. I think the problem is that Kirk didn't take the time to relearn it properly, and he's not a great improviser. So when it gets to a section and he doesn't know well he wings it....and we all pay the price.
Jacob Nelson they recently played the full song on their 40th Anniversary. Which I just watched yesterday. And it was so fucking Sickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
