I have never seen anyone who plays guitar like James, I don't care what anyone says. I listen to a lot of Thrash Metal, Black Metal, Death Metal, and Grindcore and his down picking is mind blowing. All of them sounded great. Incredible performance.

I’m self taught for 2 years now on guitar and always do down picking I found it easier to play songs in general that way James is probably the same way

Great they can still perform like this and they need to do whatever it takes to preserve themselves, but it is a shame they didn’t play the actual best part of blackened. The tremendous riffing and melody after the solo before the final verse.

@@midenking9651 No, the playing is fine. It's the tone they started using around Hardwired. If you listen to their tone 2015/2016 is was great, but with Hardwired, they started using a much more muddy tone. I agree that it doesn't sound as good.
