Nah, Jason suxxx as a singer. James just had him do backup cuz everyone else in the band is shit at singing. There is a reason Jason only sang live and almost all the background vocals on their albums are SOLEY James's.
@@domublub That's good one. But it doesn't come even close to this one. James' voice is way more powerful in this one and closer to studio version than ever. Also bass is more apparent which serves this song well. Not to mention better the backup vocals. Lars' drumming is on point. And The Ripper did solid solo. (As he did at the Orion music festival.)
@kasperkankkunen8664 *James's. Lars's. Yu fucking dumbass. Even if a name ends in S you are still supposed to put an s after the apostrophe, fucking retard!
Nop, the drum kit is very simple, it have only one bass drum and Lars can't play the doble bass final part. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ASc50Plj4Gk.html
I don't want to talk shit about Trujillo he is an awesome bassist , and he kick ass at the live performances , talking about mexico's shows at 2009 and 2012 , but Jason Newsted have Metal player soul, huge voice , and he loves metallica, i hope to see metallica again with that crazy man!
I was thinking the exact same thing. There are some things going on beyond what they are doing live. Some planned sounds and syncing. Just not sure how much. Only they would know for sure.
It amazes me no one is pointing out Lars' perfect execution of this song here, he usually fucks up and rushes etc but not here no sir. God I miss Jason, that guy is pure metal.
That's cuz he wasn't on coke here. He had quit. His earlier performances were rushed cuz Lars and Kirk used to do coke. James and Jason never did drugs.
entersandman solo is very blues/Hendrix/wah sounding, if h slow it down bout a different best behind it it sounds very much like late 60’s wah shredding rather then metal
Jason put so much heart that you notice that after he left. After I started hearing Rob and SPECIALLY Kirk singing i couldn't watch Metallica live for years. They are still missing the space Jason left, even if Rob is a better bass player.
@@paul8028 Totally agree ! they made the wrong choice with Rob . He can't sing sing backup vocals , and doesn't bring anything to their live performances . And on top of it hasn't contributed anything like Cliff did in terms of instrumentals , even though people keep saying how great he is as a bassist . Jason brought so much energy to their shows , and his bass solo's were fun . Has never been the same since he left
@@Harrysound The more I think about that, the worst. On the other hand, I'm just glad they are out there still man, so many bands tear themselves apart way soon, the boys have been going all out since 1981. 39 years man. Long live Metallica
Some of the best live performances in Metallica's history have been on awards shows. Always out to conquer, firing on all cylinders. This is no exception. Undoubtedly the best performed version of I Disappear.
I'm so love Jason! He came to Metallica in a very difficult time for them! He passed all the adversity of fans! It is ideally joined the team! Why did they treat him so..?
kinglarrythefirst I wish, but his vocal chords have less wear and tear back then compared to today, so they're thicker and stronger, he sounds good today though
Miss Jason so much. Rob trujillo is a cool dude and good bassist, but I hate how he squats down and walks around in them basketball shorts. Jason was the man, and great fit for Metallica
Robert is clearly a far superior player of the instrument. He doesn't have the energy of Jason live, but he can play stuff that Jason just wasn't capable of doing. They can actually play Orion live now and it sounds how it's supposed to.
