The Virgin one-winged Mom`s Boy vs the Chad Voice of God Jokes aside, it would not surprise me if Sephiroth's theme was an inspiration for this boss theme
@@xelldincht4251 Metatron's theme utilizes a remixed version of the law theme from Shin Megami Tensei 1, which predates Final Fantasy 7 by 5 years. These two themes are similar in the sense that they portray twisted divinity, forcefully imposing their perceived order onto other beings.
The fact that Metatron really pulls up on you during the deepest parts of the Labyrinth of Amala, to announce that you're beyond the point of redemption, to having this theme playing at the start of the battle is so badass. He's one of my favorite Law angels that stands out so much, then his menacing laugh when doing fire of sinai, I always keep that move on him while using Metatron during any playthrough. THIS THEME IS SO DAMN AMAZING
given that we're told at the very beginning that the inhabitants of the Vortex World are fallen angels who became demons, it's safe to assume that Metatron is the only actual angel in this game.
@@samuelgarza2466 Chiaki has the only reason where they wouldn't be completely destroyed. Since they have a strict hierarchy and order to how they operate everything. Even though Hikawa is very Law, in his marxist style reason, since everything would be equal to god, they would be worthless and have no reason to exist. And Isamu would divide them all apart. They can only function as both a collection and a hierarchy. In Yosuga they could at least attempt to keep existing like that
Let me just say, when I heard this song, I felt HELLA intimidated. The way Metatron appears in front of you imposingly, then entering battle with this song playing, a very clear remix of Shin Megami Tensei I's Law Theme, it was intimidating as fuck. Plus, his threatening as fuck laugh whenever he used Fire of Sinai. It was a really difficult fight. I love this game so much.
@@haydencoleman6545 beelzebub was super difficult for me, metatron wasn't that bad tbf i had a maxed out magic titania and a maxed magic black frost with mabufudyne and ice boost
@@drawer29 Beelzebub wasn't as bad to me compared to metatron in my last playthrough. Death flies didn't do much since null/drain/void dark negates the threat, compared to fire of Sinai when the latter can hit twice, is almighty, and if you didn't hit him with debilitate or dekaja to negate his buffs, then you'd be in trouble if those hits did 300+ damage on the team and not have hp around 800 for everyone.
@@dylanattix2765 TBF, you technically won't be. You're only locked into that ending if you meet Lucifer and get Pierce. You can still beat Metatron then go back to the overworld.
@@ReverofEnola Yeah, but what's really the point? If you're going that far, why not go all the way, am I right? Unless you want to use Metatron in your neutral/reason ending for some reason.
In the base game, Metatron didn't live up to our expectation much. In Hardtype, he felt like an actual final boss. And hooo boy, this theme was made for that Hardtype fight, it actually makes Metatron much more intimidating than the base game itself.
I actually found Beelzebub to be harder. Beelz basically starts mass buff/debuff canceling later in the fight and he also can attack physically and one shotted Demifiend more than once. Still,Metatron I dreaded fighting due to his use of Almighty Spells.
only reason he would one shot you is if you dont have a death resistant magatama on, as death flies only one shots enemies with no death resistance. otherwise he was only dealing about 150 damage a turn which is manageable
@@manologamerss5801 Thats not the same. This battle theme is based on the theme of the law alignment from SMT1, which isnt a battle theme. Its an iconic and meaningful event theme. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LyNliJt4-f0.html
What do you mean? One winged angel makes itself sound like an edgy teenager, it's kinda the whole vibe lol it doesn't need anything else to make it sound like that, it helped raise a generation of edgy teens =p
Just beat this guy yesterday at level 76 on Hard for the first time, beat him second attempt, way easier than Beelzebub, but still a good challenge. I feel like if I was the same level I fought Beelzebub (70), I would’ve had a harder time. Either that or I was just smarter with my turns. Great boss fight. Intimidating af music.
I've seen some comments on videos with this theme saying it sounds like a Final Fantasy theme. However, I have a different view: to me it sounds like a Soul Calibur stage/character theme, like it sounds like it could be a theme fitting Cervantes!
In my own experience the metatron fight was shorter than the beelzebub fight because of 3 things I had most magatama’s, I was over leveled and I had a team that had raidou (unpopular opinion I prefer raidou more than Dante (btw the Dante we fight is the Dante we play in DMC 2)), daisoujou and red rider (I occasionally swapped this one with my Uber pixie it’s a good thing that the compendium exists because I wouldn’t have gotten back my red rider I used the same exact pixie we get at the beginning of the game to fuse him, btw in the 5th Kalpa the door to which we can get will open if we show an offspring demon (a demon that used THE pixie as a material) and because I spammed buffs and debuffs like there was no tomorrow
I actually had that exact same team lol (switching raidou for dante since im played the orignal us ps2 version). Metatron dekunda’d like once near the end and would hardly do damage while demi-fiends iron claws and dante’s rebellions just obliterated him
@@vanessalaplaige8806 i honestly fought him like an idiot and go destroyed the first time by death flies since i didnt know lol. After that i tried again but for some reason kept parvati who was useless. So i really only had demi fiend, daisoujou, and red rider which made it really slow but eventually beat him.
Um...so this bossfight was surprisingly easy...he barley used Dekunda and dekaja after the first part of his fight, so i could just keep nuking him with demi fiend
