I had the gas symptoms (mainly frequent burps and heartburn but occasionally the other) for the first week and a half I was taking it, but they seem to have gone away for now. 🤞I am on the ER (extended release) version and have been sure to take them with food. Excellent advice here!
If I recall correctly, Metformin extended release is causing some serious problems for some folks. My Mom was taken off of it. I take Metformin (500 mg x daily) myself and seem to tolerate it fairly well. The emphasis on taking it WITH food is much appreciated.
I have been taking 2x1000mgs of metformin daily for over 30 years. Keeps my A1C perfect...and allows me to eat a few things I probably wouldn't eat without the metformin. Never had any side effects except, I just turned 79 and maybe metformin really is a longevity drug? That's a side effect I can handle......
@@kathywestbrooks9488 - After 18 days of the most glorious regularity of my life, the party is over! Metformin turned on me, now my stomach is a rock, unyielding, uncomfortable and bloated beyond belief. So much for losing weight. I feel like the Michelin man with a UTI.
I remember I started it a few years back and my stomach was not feeling well however, I took pepto bismol it worked. After a few days the stomach was fine.
Okay so I take extended release 500 mg ALWAYS with meals and the only “carbs” I’ve eaten in weeks are 1/2 cup of bran and 1/2 of broccoli. Taking Metformin 18 days with no problems until three days ago when MASSIVE constipation, bloating and stomach pain hit me, making life miserable and exacerbating my chronic bladder condition. Since I’m only pre-diabetic, wondering if it’s worth it. Exercise daily. No alcohol. Tons of fiber. Took psillium. After 18 days of glorious regularity and weight loss, this is very disappointing.
I have a bad aerophagia and soda drinking habit. But the metformin, while it didn't look like it did anything, actually welcomed be back home so to speak when I had REALLY bad esophageal reflux symptoms. I don't know if it counteracts the nausia and Sucralfate medicines that only makes me more acidic, but going back on Metformin actually loosened my side a little. Still gonna see my swallow test tomorrow to see what's up.
Recently diagnosed with diabetis. Was put on that med. Dont think can tolerate it. Only took 4 days at 500mg and gave me severe stomach pains and diarhoea. It was so bad that felt like I had taken diuretics...I think will need different one..
Maybe I an just lucky, but I have been taking 2x1000mgs of metformin daily for over 30 years. Keeps my A1C perfect...and allows me to eat a few things I probably wouldn't eat without the metformin. Never had any side effects except, I just turned 79 and maybe metformin really is a longevity drug? That's a side effect I can handle......
I keep noticing that they like to talk about this drug as if it's perfectly safe, it is an extremely dangerous drug because of the main side effect that they all want to overlook, and that is this, it causes suicidal tendencies
Hello Sir. Can you please make a detailed video on the third wave of covid and let us know how do we keep ourselves and our 5 years old children totally safe from the clutches of the third wave. It's an earnest request to you from India. 🙏
Your people and country have been in my prayers. The most effective prevention of COVID still involves maintaining adequate distancing from others, wearing a mask and proper hand washing and getting vaccinated when possible. It's frustrating to see that we haven't been able to get vaccines out to everybody in the world and those in my country don't seem to care about it. Stay safe!!
@2000mgs daily of metformin for 35 years never made my B-12 level low. I had it checked a few weeks ago and B-12 was in the middle of the desired range. I do now take a B-12 supplement because it's not going to hurt anything. I also have my kidneys tested often and they are fine...no problems....Most people think I am much younger than the 80 I turned a few months ago..........maybe the longevity side effect of metformin is the only one I will have?
What happens when a kid that is 9-13 years old cant move some of there body parts and when they getting yelled/shouted/scold by there parents their hearts are so weak to take it? they felt pain to their chest and they dont know why and some kids are crying and some are not and if a kid that sleeps too much and always forgetting something is there a problem? is it bad for their health? (just a question, I wanna know some answers sorry if my english is bad✋🏻)
Metformin causes lactic acidosis and deficiency in Vitamin B12 and causes the body to suffer. Metformin causes you to lose weight and look aged. Your friends will notice the change in look and physique and question whether you are diabetic. I am very grateful to a female pharmacist who whispered to me that if I exercised and stayed away from sugar, I can throw the 3 month supply of metformin that I was holding in my hand into the dustbin and I did exactly that on 10 July 2010. I have been a diabetic for 26 yrs now and exercise daily. I stay away from the sugars sucrose and fructose. You can live without fruits and vegetables. The only vegetable that I consume is the herb celery which gets rid of heavy metals in the body. The fructose in fruits affect your mitochondria and causes inflammation in the body. I am virile and healthy at age 76 yrs. A diabetic must consume soaked fenugreek seeds (one tablespoon for 24 hrs) to be virile and healthy. Please do not touch any diabetic medicine. Exercise and avoiding sugar, MSG. caffeine, A1 cows milk, vegetable and seed oils is the key. Gluten free A2 cows milk and goats milk can be consumed.
Thanks, I however did not do that and have been taking metformin for 35 years with no negative side effects other than in last few years I am often constipated. That could be the metformin or just getting old.. I am 80 now (and healthy) and may be seeing the longevity side effect metformin is being tested for. If so, I can live with that one. Most people say I look much younger than 80........
