This is the pinnacle...Rap at its finest...pushed to it's limit... this format of rap will never be replicated again... respect to the Golden Era...☝🏾😎💯🔥
I say the same thing man. This is like hip hop to the core. It's like a party song with battle rhymes...this is what we would be dancing to in the clubs if hip hop was ruled by the culture first instead of pop rap. There's not many hip hop songs that sound like this and the video was dope af! This whole album is a classic to me.
Y'all remember back around when this shit dropped, Meth was straight rockin' a toothbrush in his mouth on MTV, like it was fashion? Shit still cracking me up. Wu set the direction and velocity, forever.
So true, I woke with this song on my mind. This song is bananas. Also Damien Marley and Nas album Distant Relative also is super hot fire for these times were living.
When I first heard of Coronvirus I said to myself "Oh now what's this smell like fish. Also very powerful is when he says don't "Blame me, Blame Society" I imagine he was smoking a Fat Blunt when he wrote this and Fully Inspired. I recommend for those who seek truth to watch some videos of an 80 year old man by the name of Jordan Maxwell, a man who's been talking about the end time and secret societies since 1959. He's new videos are currently being Blocked on the youtube search but they are being posted on Raymond L Finch youtube channel. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KWDS25nAB_M.html. Love and Light yall!!
@@nyx6508 it's not Islam it's just wahabism or any other fundamentalist Muslim wing, for example the majority of the own wu tang clan, busta, ll cool j, nas or Rankin were muslims
You might be right. Mef evolved and advanced his lyricism as the years went on and became a monster with his style. He was always dope, but he just kept getting better and better. The complete rapper for sure. Some of the best one-liner punches ever too. Yes indeed. I'm iller than an std. Southpaw. Ring ya bell like it's quasi moto. I'll black that eye like peas. Now you sufferin like succotash. Dude is untouchable. I thought he kept up with black thought on their cypher personally. Flow is just flawless.
Was watching tv and Method Man made an appearance. So I started going back and listening to all his music. Man these guys need to come back and resurrect rap music. Its time to go back to the 90s way of doing things. I cant listen to this new shit coming out these days.
🔥~Ten, let the countdown begin Nine, I was born in the mind Eight, take the head of a snake Seven, behold Armageddon Six, ain't no love for the rich Five, only strong will survive Four, 'cause we live by the sword Three, plus sixty degrees Two, for the black and the blue One, for the sun, step into millennium~🔥
This was the song I listened to as 1999 turned to 2000. I had timed it so his countdown ended at new years. Great memory, great party. This song is part of my life soundtrack now.
+roycephantom4me no there isnt dont kid yourself this was a time in hiphop were the music meant something it gave you certain feeling that i rarely get now unless i listen to songs like this!
@@louvelazquez2373 Agreed brother. Wu-Tang, Redman, Busta Rhymes, DMX, Onyx, Mobb Deep, Nas, Cube, Dre, Snoop, Rakim, G Rap, Scarface, KRS-One, Slick Rick, A Tribe Called Quest, Del The Funky Homosapien, Black Moon, and different Emcees & Groups like that, threwout the 90's, just had this majestical, magical feeling, when you listened to them. I don't get that feeling at all with the new Emcees. Obviously Mumble Rap is complete fucking trash. Fuck em all. But even when I listen to Kendrick & Cole, and dudes like that, its just not the same. I'm not saying they can't rap, because they can rap very well. They just don't pack the same punch, and don't have the soul & heart, that these older Emcees had. They're music isn't as fascinating & exciting.
i don't understand why this classic still got only 7Millions vues. Everything is perfectly executed, the lyrics, the flow, the instrumental, and of course the quality of the image.... i don't get it ! method man is a king within the rap game.
Of course, it was rappresented him like an armageddon for the hip hop world and put finishing the fake playa. This was the message, the end of the music for the fake playa in this game and Wu-Tang is the weapon for humiliating this shit like a Trap's player. Fuck the new school

It's not Vevo who's edited the song, it's just the clean / radio version - edited by the artist himself. If you bought 12inch records - or even the CD singles back in the day, you'll find they'll be a dirty version and a radio version on virtually every hip hop song, they wouldn't have been able to get radio play otherwise - and Wu Tang's radio edits were actually renowned for their inventiveness.
I remember when this first came out. It would hype me up EVERYTIME. I was 22 when this came out. I'm now 37. They don't make music like this anymore. 99.99% is crap!! This is on my mixed cd. Late 80's and 90's was the best for rap. Busta Ryhmes was that boy too. They need to come back and show these nonsense talking rappers what it's all about.
That’s absolute facts. This is facts. Back during that era, this was considered too “experimental” or too “out there”. Like some others have said, this dude was really ahead of his time.
"Hip Hop" goes through these periods where,it doesn't have any "real" direction. As a person who appreciates "Hip•Hop",every once in a while you have to go back in history and "review" some of those old elements that intrigued you in the first place.Everyone is different,so each path is "different".That's what make this "Artform" unique. (Comming from an Emcee's point of veiw).
The beat, sound, lyrcis and even the video just gets you so hyped. My cuz and I used to do the countdown and one spit the lyrcis haha memories! Meth, had those boys looking like the Judgement Day Knights of the Round. lol. I miss this kind of rap and creativity in videos.
Rappers were going 3 to 4 times platinum back then just pure album sales. Record labels had NO problem shelling out major cash to make their video into masterpieces. Look at Busta Rhymes and Missy videos.
@@mentlinc it does not really sound like lets say mumble rap, or 80's rap, or current rap. the video is dated tho lol. you cant pin point the style of this song. no one else has a song that sounds like this that I know of. no one really tried to copy Meths style. where today, all rap sounds the same on mainstream radio.
Thankyou for this song Blaze I’ve always been a fan since I was 4 years old lol. Going on 21 now and still hearing your name and message. Don’t eva stop
Mad love Method and Wu-Tang Clan... You are apart of one of the East Coast most classic rap groups. Enjoyed you with them and your solo projects. Your acting is cool too. Knowing who you are and your music people are messing out,if they don't know who u r. Mad love, dope skills, and you are a fine man....ladies know...lol peace and the saga will always continue...
4th Disciple killed it with this track. I'm surprised people outside of Wu didn't request his production. Perhaps he was contractually obligated only to work with Wu Fam.
I'm still bumping this in 2018. Method Man is definitely my favorite performer from the era. I love that outfit in this video! Shit looks intense. I remember watching this as a kid and thinking the lasers on his face looks so cool as well
