Metroid Prime Remastered Review - The Final Verdict 

"Make it run st 60fps" You'll be pleased/shocked to hear that Prime on Gamecube in 2002 ran at a solid 60fps. Seriously, that game was witchcraft

They turned everything up to 11 in what was already a masterpiece of a game! What a nice surprise, can't believe they dropped this out of nowhere.

A lot of games claim to be constant 60fps, but it often dips when things get hectic. But this game never dips. The smooth framerate is steady as a rock.

Already reserved the physical copy, I freaking love the metroid series.

Got into the franchise last summer with Dread and did not imagine that I would fall in love with it. Played through the 2D games (except the original I and II) and I cannot wait to receive my physical of this beauty ❤️❤️❤️

This is currently the bar as to how you remaster a game. Modernize it without losing the original artstyle and atmosphere. They upgraded things that do not change or take away from the experience and did not touch things like the music which should be left untouched.

This game was the main reason that I bought my Gamecube way back when. I was 23 years old in 2002 and fresh out of college. Was a huge fan of the original on the NES when I was a kid (still have my original cart). Saw this game previewed on a Gamepro DVD that came with an issue of the magazine. I was a little skeptical, at first, as I couldn't really fathom the idea of a 3D Metroid game. However, I was still was interested in trying it out. When it dropped, I finally picked up a used Gamecube from Funcoland and a new copy of this game and was immediately sucked into it. Aside from the 3DS title (don't own the system), I have pretty much every game in the series across multiple Nintendo platforms from the NES original thru Dread on the Switch. With that being said, the original Metroid Prime still ranks up there as one of the most engrossing and entertaining games that I've ever played. I'm damn near 44 years old now and this video really makes me want to dust off my old copy of the game. Definitely may pick up the remastered version.

I remember when this came out, right after GTA Vice City dropped. I loved Vice City as much as everyone else did at the time, but I remember Metroid Prime blowing me away at the time on every front. Graphics, gameplay and even more storytelling than we’d ever seen in a Metroid game. This was the Metroid game that we were waiting for since Super Metroid came out. I say this is one the best games ever made and I am so happy to see it treated with such care, and I hope it will be played by a whole new generation!

Good god gimme 2 and 3 now 😭 I absolutely ripped through this game and had a blast. At 27 I never thought I would ever again feel how I originally felt as a kid playing this, but this remaster just overwhelmed me in that regard. In the BEST way.

Metroid Prime to be is not only the best Metroid game but in my opinion one of top 10 greatest games ever made. It is a bona fida masterpiece and a timeless classic, that 20 years later still holds up. I cannot recall how many times I finished it, but it's definitely over 30 times and I return to it every year to reexperience this brilliant work of art.

I really wish they did this for Twilight Princess HD tbh

I really want the entire trilogy but damn this is a completely new game ! A true remaster not just an upscale

I really REALLY hope that they give us an Echoes Remaster, too. I love Metroid Prime, but its sequel is a damn MASTERPIECE.

Prime 4? I can't wait to see how they update Prime Corruption. This remaster is well above what I expected and it's still only 40$. I was expecting it to be at least 50$.

This will be my first Metroid game... I've wanted to play the originals for a while but never got around to them. This one looks absolutely amazing though

I've been playing it non stop and can't get over how AWESOME the new control options are. I use the dual sticks and was wondering why it had 2 trigger buttons for shooting was A and RL and OMG it's awesome for taking on bosses.... I just played Thardus and it allows for those moments when you can't lock on and want to shoot manually using the right dual stick to aim. OMG genius!

Best game of all time just got a whole lot better. We are in a simulation.

I recently played it through on my phone with a PS4 pad and it still looked great and played awesome.

When Prime 4 lands, I'm gonna do the same thing I did back in 02'. Buy a system just for one game, Metroid.

I’m going in blind, I’m new to the Metroid series.. I hope it lives up to the hype.

I loved this game when I was a kid. It was truly beyond anything else that was being done at the time. One of my favorite parts was the feeling of exploration it instilled. Going into a new area and turning on the scanning visor to record the flora and fauna and enemies. It made you feel like you were truly the first one to explore a unique alien world.

I only ever beat Prime 1 one time, and when I eventually reached the temple where you had to put all the artefacts I had missed every single one of them. I needed a guide to sniff out their location.

Prime 1 is a timeless classic. Truly one of the best games ever made. The attention to detail, music, graphics. All od that was amazing and pretty far ahead of its time.

By the way: Metroid Prime Remastered Physical edition is No. 1 in sales on Amazon US, as well as being sold out in Amazon Mexico and Amazon Spain.

Back when Metroid Prime first came out i couldn't believe how awesome it was in terms of graphics, atmosphere and sound all coming from a Nintendo GameCube. Suddenly the NGC had the best shooter bar none. the awesome Resident Evil remake and RE4 simply put, made the NGC a little powerhouse that pushed way, way beyond the hardware specs imo.

Masterpiece 10/10

Awesome video! I still am in a state of shock that Nintendo allowed this. I would have been happy getting prime in any form on the switch. I thought best case scenario was the lazy upres that Twilight Princess got (which I still loved). I though most likely it would be like the even lazier port that Mario 64 got. Nope! Prime Remaster is an absolute labor of love. They went above and beyond to give us the best possible Prime 1 experience. I've been over the moon playing this. I am doing a few in depth playthroughs before moving on to casual speed runs. What a lovely game! Cheers to Retro and co for doing this so well. Cheers to Nintendo for signing off on it

I'm honest: I like the normal metroidvania metroids more (Metroid dread and Metroid zero mission are one of my favourite games) and I was always scared that I wouldn't like Metroid prime. But I think with this remake and Metroid prime 4 (hopefully) on the way, I'll give it a try.

The game came out in late 2002. It's 20 years old as of early 2023.

Ok wow, i was waiting for this to come out someday, but comming out the day it was announced is insane and at low price tag. Good, good, GOOD. Now what happend to Echoes and Corruption ? Will they comme out suddenly like the first ?

Yanking the pro controller makes the morph ball jump. They did every possible improvement. The game is amazing.

For somebody that was too busy playing Melee and Windwaker on the GameCube, I cannot express how amazed I am with this game. I always heard good things, but did not expect this tbh. This game is incredible (though a bit frustrating at times.)

I hope they will bring Ocarina of Time Remaster as well.

Metroid Prime is on my Top 5 List of games of all time and I play though this (and most of the games in The MP Trilogy) at least once every other year. I been waiting for this for a long time and I'm so glad that it turned out so spectacular. Now I just need to get my hands on a Nintendo Switch.

Can't wait to see what retro cook up in their magic couldron for prime 4 in terms of game design and combat, especially combat.

Great review but people seems to forget that the original game for gamecube already run at 60fps 2:28 , thats not an improvement. gamecube was a beast.

As of currently beat the game on and now playing through on hard, I have not seen or obtained the Fusion Suit that was in the original, wii, and wii u versions nor do I know if they put it in the game.

I kept the trilogy disc for my Wii, and I haven't played it on my WiiU in a long time. Glad I still have it. But this remake blows me away.

Can't wait to grind out this game when the physical version drops! Gives me plenty of time to get through new game plus in deadspace remake.

The color blindness adjustment isn't new. The gamecube version was just that comprehensive

I'd like to see 2 and 3 get this treatment ahead of 4's release. Never played 3 because it was on Wii and I didn't own one, plus I didn't like the motion controls.

Loved the original prime, was the reason for me to buy a game cube, the game still holds as an addictive and atmospheric experience, still enjoy playing with classic control scheme, there is only one thing that could have improved the experience and that is fast travel but that maybe would be against the nature of the game so i can live without that.

I just ordered a Switch. I so want to relive this game! It held up as my favorite game until Destiny came along.

It's not upgraded "beyond recognition". The game looks, feels and plays same as before. Just with higher fidelity.

For them to shadow drop this at the price they did is a master class move. I was taking a little break from gaming and hadn’t owned a Nintendo system after the 64. PlayStation took my time up in gaming as I was in my 20s when this released and gaming wasn’t at the top of my priority list. Never played this and I’m pumped for this release to be sure.

I love this game so much i have bought it 3 times! When it came out.a few years ago cus i missed playing it and the day it came out on switch.

Why does my version look so dark!? You can clearly see well in this video, but when I play on my system it suffers from horrible black crush. I can't see some of the walls or the downed space pirates in the beginning for example. I haven't heard of anyone else with this issue and it's kinda ruining my favorite game

For the first time since GameCube you can play as fusion suit Samus?!?!(this was locked behind completing zero mission and connecting your gba to the GameCube, which the Wii was not capable of)

Never cared to own a switch and i hate myself for saying that now I want one but only for this game because this game was amazing and I need to relieve this again on a GameCube controller tho

How could the "best remaster of one of the best games of all time" not be a 10/10? With all of the complementary language here I was expecting an 11/10 not a 9. I've been playing it and no doubt it is very good.
