One of the more chilling things I've heard/seen was when Ed had a conversation with SR and pointed out the human trafficking that takes place. He showed an image and said count how many teenage woman you see.
Man, Jonny Mitchell could learn a lot from Danny. Danny used to interrupt his guests all the time, but he listened to his audience and improved and now Konkrete is one of the best podcasts out there.

Johnny is a good interviewer by doing that sometimes, he was the only interviewer that repeatedly called bullshit into the Mickey gambler dudes story. Glad Luis pointed out the cartels control the illegal migration paths, I think it's one of the reasons the problem has gotten so bad in the past few years. Part of it is weak borders, but a lot of it is also cartels facilitating the migration of people from outside of Mexico too through established migrant routes. Also talking about the effect of music on the youth is super true and interesting. You can see it in the U.S. too to a degree. I think a lot of us want to believe it doesn't have an effect because in reality it doesn't for a lot of people, but it's easy to underestimate how easily stupid people can be deceived. It's a good point too regarding that it's not about money, or power, but it's about fame. I would make it more concise and say it's not about fame, but it's about attention. It's a commodity in the modern world with social media.

@@deatrhr0w I'm not a citizen, I'm from South America. I know damn well the culture of Hispanics. It is harder to have upward mobility in certain countries compared to the U.S., but woe is me. I have zero sympathy for people who CHOOSE to get involved in bad shit because they've deluded themselves into believing there is no alternative. I came to the U.S. and became an engineer. Everyone has choice, but if you subscribe to the belief you have no choice, you are not going to be successful in life because you already limit your own opportunities that you don't pursue. If your "dream" is coming a narco, you might be retarded. I came here and became an engineer. Mexico has engineers, despite it being plagued by violence. I know more than well enough that there are alternative paths because I've experienced it. Not everyone can be successful though, so if a victim mindset is what you want to retain throughout life, then enjoy being poor because that's what you will be. Just because you come from a place where things are harder to achieve doesn't innately make them impossible.. it just makes them harder. Also you are a terrible writer, stay in school and don't skip English class. And no shit cartels have controlled migrant smuggling for decades, I never said they didn't.. As a Mexican American I have a crazy ass story that happened here in DFW. My first cousin was in deep with the organization. He was pulled over with some WORK. Went to prison and within the same day I had people from Mexico calling my phone demanding their work or money in full. As you can imagine I was in shock. And yes, they sent two people within that week.

We know the Mexican cartels, now which are the US Cartels? Who is sending the guns? The money? Purchasing the drugs? Distributing the drugs in the US side??? That’s what I would LOVE to know!

The 2nd is definitely not the reason. The reason those cartels would not get a stronghold on the US is because the Millitary and Goverment in the US is not corrupt enough.
Hang in there bro. I have 13 years sober from heroin and opiate based medications. I still consume other plants meds and I think sobriety can look different for each person. I would try and encourage plant consumption over prescribed medications. If you are at a point where you may take Subs again, perhaps an organic option may help your healing process, which takes lots of time and patience. Keep at it bro 💪

One of the things you are forgetting is the difference between capitalism and anarchism. These two just do not go together considering that to make capitalism work, you need to be able to guarantee ownership rights and protect the market against monopolies/large corporations destroying the market and making it harder for smaller companies to succeed (which is the problem of our current system; "Corporate Socialism").

I want to know the backstory of why they were targeting Ovidio over the other Guzman brothers. Was it because he embarrassed the Mexican govt when they had to let him go? Or was he just sloppy and easy to track? Or was it a trade-off, like we have to arrest one of you, you pick which one?
I know for a fact in Tucson there’s lots of legitimate business’ who launder money for cartels, grew up with friends who’s families business do it. Taquerias, hot dog stands, barbershops, and corner markets. Big give away is family’s who have a small family business in a bad part of town but their entire family doesn’t work, but lives lifestyle like each of the adults make $300,000+ a year , and then you expect them to have tons of shops but it’s actually just a little corner store in the hood.
As a 36 year old lifelong Phoenix resident it’s not too difficult to identify possible cartel activity or who’s connected. One of my next door neighbors was a connected individual who was involved in the cocaine trade, he was about my parents age so his children were around my age young young adults at the time and their father ended up getting busted and connected to at least 1 stash house that was holding a couple million dollars in cash, by the time he got busted at one of the money houses the feds had already been following him for a while so he ended up going to prison for his involvement in a multi multi million dollar operation.
Neighborhood watch communities are also used to their advantage. They slowly take over owning several houses in the community whilst simultaneously scaring / annoying people out of their homes. Since neighborhood watch communities have meetings of how to better the community, they use unsuspecting scouts and informants to get information on who to try and remove or who to trust in the community.
You know what would be awesome? If we weren’t 5 minutes into one of Danny’s conversations and didn’t still know who the fuck Kiki Camarena was and didn’t have to Google it. Or who the guest is because Danny introduced him. In fact that would be awesome for all of Danny’s podcasts.
