My son and I are super interested in perhaps getting temp/perm residency via amnesty. We are moving to Mexico for various economic and health reasons and have no desire to return to the U.S. under any circumstances...
This is the most useful video I've ever watched on RU-vid about Mexico. And I've watched lots of videos. Congratulations to both . That was very helpful. I will contact this awesome and charismatic attorney
That is awesome! Glad it was so helpful! I recently did an updated video with him you should check it out! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dEq6p4LULkA.html
Watching this Vid today 8/3/2024, and I think I be coming soon to Merida. It’s Awesome to see you guys doing this type of work & Charity to Help the Poor. Once I’m settled, I’ll be looking forward to help you guys doing this Also. Cuidesen y Dios Quiera Que nos Veamos Pronto. 👍🏻
You are right . I was in mexico for 2 months traveling between states taking ADO everywhere i pass by police officers asked for directions. I was never asked to present my paper. Of course i always had my passport with me.
I must say, this has been one of the more informative youtubes I’ve seen regarding the legalities of Mexican Immigration , especially for those of us who are moving to Mexico and trying to obtain Dual citizenship . Thanks to both of you, I for one really appreciate this content.
Hi Gerry. Are you in the process of obtaining dual citizenship? I would like to hear about it. I've just started...would like to know if you can offer any advice. I'll give you my email address, if you're willing.
@@JoseArteagaTravels I really like Jose the lawyer. He is very helpful, and so generous with his advice. I'm going to definitely be wanting to retain him from his services when I relocate to Mexico. I'm not a rich man, I'm a 60 year old man living on social security disability income. It has become increasingly impossible to live in America on $1500 .00 a month. I get the whole immigration of our southern neighbors wanting to immigrate to America to earn a much better living. For younger people wanting to make good money. Jobs are paying real good money these days. But you can thank the Gop Republican party for putting up immigrant road blocks for youngsters and families wanting a shot at a better life. They seem to hate all people with brown or dark colored skin! It is un-American and total Bullshit! It is flat out discrimination, and because of these people, America is suffering! No one can find employees to fill the jobs... the republican party doesn't want our brothers and sisters from the south to come here and live the American dream... or even to fill the vacancy of the millions of jobs that employers cannot ever seem to fill!!! Wages are at an all time high, but yet businesses and employers cannot find anyone to work! Go figure! The GOP (Grand old party) has spent the last decade and a half running all the immigrants out of America... No lie! It isn't the Democrats. We welcome everyone from everywhere. However... The GOP also has a hand in making sure the wealthiest Americans pay NO, or LITTLE is any Taxes... insuring that the rich keep getting richer and that the middle class which is pretty much non existent these days, and the poor, or low income citizens can no longer afford basic necessities like RENT! inflation has gone off the charts, and for a pensioner like myself, can no longer afford to live here. I myself have been living in a 33 year old motorhome in an RV park paying $500.00 a month to park and live here. It includes electric and sewer, and garbage, and a mailbox, I've been trying to find a place to reside for over 3 years. There isn't much to be had, and when something comes available... they take applications where 40 or 50 applicants for an average of $40.00 non refundable application fee... $40. × 50 applicants = $2000.00 (it's a racquet)... will apply for the same rental. Who do you think always gets it? A guy like me living on social security? Or, the person making $6k or $7K a month as a traveling nurse, or maybe a construction contractor here to build someone's new custom home... or maybe just a family that makes $175,000.00 a year and is trying to find a home to purchase! All I know is, it's never me, or any other person that is on a limited SS income. Landlords are afforded the luxury to be able to pick and choose, and they always cherry pick the people with the highest credit scores, and highest incomes. Leaving myself, and others like myself on the outs! It has become impossible to find housing unless you're wealthy. I'm not. I'm poor. And I live in a rural area that used to be cheap compared to bigger cities. But no more. I just want to live where I can rent an apartment, or preferably a small house like, a one or two bedroom cottage, or bungalow, or a mother in law quarters with privacy and completely self contained... meaning, a kitchen, fridge and private living quarters... preferably somewhere you can flush toilet paper down the toilet without any major issues like the sewer backing up ~ haha, not trying to bring American standards with me, or saying it would be a deal breaker, I said preferably... the rest would kind of depend on how nice the rest of the residence is. I could adjust and still embrace Mexican culture and the lifestyle no matter what. I am looking forward to making a new life in Mexico. My only hope is that the native people of where ever it is, can accept me as a neighbor and friend. Here in the US I've had the pleasure of knowing and working with many Mexicanos in my life. Many became good and close friends over the years. About 10 years ago, I left Reno, Nv. Where almost all my Mexican friends lived, and moved to a rural part of Oregon. But I've met a few Mexican friends here too.thanks guys ~ ✌
Excellent show Jose. You might want to let your guest complete his sentences and thoughts. Great information but I found your frequent interruptions very confusing. Thanks for the content.
In mexico city I was detained in a van for hours by immigration with a bunch of haitian refugees or migrants last winter, after getting off of a bus at autobuses del norte bus station. My two german friends and I didn't have our passports or tousit cards with us. I didn't bring them with me because it was just a relagively short bus ride. Just a day trip, and I didn't reslize I needed it. I thought my drivers license would be good enough. Im from canada, and here people are not getting detained by immigration commonly like that. But eventually my friend pleaded with them to help us out and they let us go. But they said they were going to check out names in the system, but they never did. They were just bullshitting about that and waiting around to round up more hatians. Obviously they realized we were just tourist and not illegal immigrants. But the point is at least in mexico city, at that time, immigration was cracking down on foriegners there, looking for people who are in the country illegally. Im not exagerating at all.
Thank you for sharing! And yes I believe you! In fact what most would say is that next time if you are in a hurry offer them money and they will let you go immediately but i would advise to do what you did because eventually they knew all they could do was give you a hard time and nothing else. Not all people are nice some are not and well at the very least they let you go and nothing more happened than a long conversation with these officers. Again as you said all they had to do was look you up and they can verify your legal status, but the fact that they did not and held you for a bit says that they were just looking for a few pesos. Thanks again for sharing!
Very, very helpful. Your right Americans/Canadians are soooo afraid. We have been indoctrinated to be fearful. The beauty of living in Mexico is low stress. I hope you can do more vids on the "how to do" type vids. Thanks.
@@JoseArteagaTravels How to handle money/check from Social Security. If the US finds out you are living in Mexico or anywhere outside the US they will cut your money off. Many retirees "park" their money in a US banking Institution like Charles Schwab and withdraw funds from that US based bank. Your Attorney friend Jose Novelo could provide the details on how to do that and provide any tips or what pit falls to avoid. There could be many other types of money matters that would help many folks making the transition. The details matter for sure. You could ask your subs what questions regarding money that they might have too. Thanks in advance. Oh...love your vids.
The saddest thing is how the United States lie so much about every thing and about everywhere.and Joe Biden is the root cause of other countries being in a up roar over oil.and that's why there's so much of the cases crossing into Mexico and heading to the United states.that old man is disgusting and is unfit for office as Obama was and bush...they all have been after oil and to shoot that oil stock threw the roof....so that is breaking people's wallets down and there life savings.and one thing is keep people in the United States and keep robbing them.that keeps them in Washington living the life while everyone else struggles.thats why the scare tactic is always used on every mother f***ING thing in America. Go to prison in the United States anywhere and you will quickly find out what they do in prisons is exactly what they do on the streets of the United states.lock downs, scare tactics, let drugs flow into prisons write them up,cause them to stay longer in prison.and these police are always causing big problems in the streets in the United States always.always.always...political prisoners this is here in the United States it happens all the time.
I will definitely be getting a hold of Jose for not only immigrating to Mexic, but also my other legal needs like housing contracts and lease agreements. Jose seems like a great guy... which is something I would not say about the blood ducking attorneys in the USA. In Americ I hold lawyers in the same category as a used car salesmen. You can only trust most Americsn lawyers, as far as you can throw them! They usually are not on your side unless you can ffird top dollar attorney's... even then, you can't totally trust them. In America, it's all about the Benjamin's when it comes to attorney's. They are always there to take you for a ride.... to the cleaners! But Jise seems very humble and earnest. I'll get a hold of him for sure for my visa and housing legal needs. Glad you put this video up Jose. Thanks.
Bro you were moving so fast you out talked you interviewee. My husband is Mexican he was cracking up😂! He said you should have been a comedy. Relax and let you interviewee get some play time 😂😂😂
Awesome! Yeah that is why I dont do many interviews. Glad you could sit through it long enough to at least message him directly and get your situation in order. Good Luck!
How do you show financials if all your funds are in Crypto currency? There are no bank statements, there are no banks. I could only show screen shots of my wallets.
No worries! There are other ways to qualify for residency! Check out this video for more information ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XH9lxrAehSU.html
I left Mex by plane on my Temp Res Visa but I did not stop at Inmigration because the airline said i did not need to have my passport stamped because i was going to USA......I went to the Mx Consulate in Miami and they did not know. Some people say that I have lost my Mx temp res. I am still out of Mex. My temp res expires Nov 2023.
I would like a permanent residency so I could come and go as I wish to stay and visit. Is this possible? I would love the ability to travel between Mississippi and anywhere in Mexico 🇲🇽 during my retirement years. P.S. I loved the information put out on here today!!!
Yes, absolutely doable! You should check out this video for even more up to date information on Residency ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XH9lxrAehSU.html
Your videos are pretty good :D I didnt know about the Special Visa option.... just wondering how hard it would be for me to organise if I came back there without organising Visa first.
Let s petend i buy a vehicle in the us and bring it to mexico using the plates and papers of the pre owner? Do i have to pay tax for importing the vehicle at ghe border, is it even possible to cross the border if the title and plates are not in my name?
You can watch this video I made for more information My Experience Buying a Used Car in Mexico 🇲🇽 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XsVUywD4ePE.html
So basically you can renew your 180 day visa indefinitely but leaving n coming back. But if you have the funds you can get permanent residency by depositing enough money in a Mexican bank? How much is that?
@@JoseArteagaTravels I would think a Mexican bank should be better than American banks. The US dollar has just lost 1/2"its value just since Convid 1984 came out. I'm thinking about watching the house of horrors burn from a safer spot.
Really great and interesting video covering many different topics. You didnt go in depth into real estate here, but there are some sources floating around saying you need an RFC to buy property in mexico. True or false? Im looking into buying property there in perhaps a year, and I want to kno exactly what I need.
You do need an RFC but if you really really want to purchase without providing one, you can also do so legally. We will discuss this and more in a future video only covering real estate.
You always spin it to be positive and easy but its not that simple. I have sent an email to the lawyer you interviewed. On $2800 AUD SS and Australian pension I have been told I don't qualify. Here in Australia our financial requirements are $4685 AUD for temporary residency visa.
I agree it's not that easy. Most people need to come out to Mexico and live on an FMM tourist visa and just keep doing Visa runs until they qualify through other means like everyone else. There are many ways to legally live in Mexico. Getting a Visa by proving financial solvency is not a solution for everyone. Unfortunately we have no control over the bureaucracy but at the very least the rules are not as strict here as they are in other Countries. The process is not for everyone.
@@JoseArteagaTravels I will see what your attorney says, I have a man friend who lives there in Mexico on a Temporary residency visa, if I visit him to see if we are going to make it permanent, then we would very likely qualify as a couple. I guess I was looking for a way to qualify on my own just incase it doesn't work out. If I sell everything here in Australia and come on a visitor visa it puts me in a vulnerable situation at 69 years old, I would not be able to come back here, I couldn't afford or qualify for another rental Australia has become so expensive. Certainly between a rock and a hard place.
Got a good question... Does tax refund money count towards income in Mexico? Not money I paid and get back, but I get around 3000 a year for the unearned income credit and child tax credit every year as extra because I make less than 50k.
@@JoseArteagaTravels No, I mean for the economic solvency to show I make enough for temporary residency. They said that money can come from anywhere, not just Mexico as long as I can show it. IOW, that extra 3000 is additional money I get every year no matter where I live because I'm still paying taxes on the US as a citizen.
I’m trying to listen but trust it’s much harder for anything there they give you the run around for every single little thing , come tomorrow you need this you need that omg 😆
Trust me thats most government operations out here. I made like 5 trips to the DMV alone just trying to get every single piece of paperwork they are asking for. Small price to pay to live in paradise
The having to go back and forth is a real thing. It is the same for us Mexicans very annoying sorry. When I was getting my passport I had to go back home and get a pen because they didn't accept blue pens. Plus all the other stuff I was missing its annoying. A good tip from a Mexican go to the office and ask but bring everything you were told to bring. Just be okay with it not being enough. Most of the time they have a little paper they hand out to people that go to ask. It's nice to have a little paper and most Mexicans we are nice so if we don't have one we will write it down for you.
Yeah at this point when I go to any of these government offices for anything i just bring my desk and a small filing cabinet with all of my files lol just in case LOL small price to pay if you ask me but yeah it can get very annoying lol
A temp visa you have to show up in Mexico before the year expires, pay your fee to get it renewed another year, for four years then you get ur Permanent Res
Many people have done this exact same thing. Make sure to watch this video for more current info on Immigration ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dEq6p4LULkA.html
I would just start the process of Temporary Resident before you leave your home country, because you'll have to go back and start it there anyway. Can't hurt. It's done, out the way. That's if you plan on staying.
Again there is nothing to fear with immigration in Mexico. If you want 180 days simply ask for and they will give it to you. Also YES you can enter with a 1 way ticket. THE ONLY ONES demanding you get a return flight would be the airlines. So if they try to force you to get one kindly decline. The airline can not force you to buy a ticket you are not going to use. Also it is ridiculous that some airlines do this. Many travelers only buy 1 way tickets as they are cheaper and allows more flexibility when traveling.

I think I need to find an immigration attorney in Puebla City... I went there with my documents to Immigration and was told that even though I am a "senior on SS and married to a Mexican also on Social Security, that I have to become a Temp resident and show all my money documents?? Seems WRONG... Any chance you can point me to an imm attorney in Puebla?
You should watch this updated video for more information ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dEq6p4LULkA.html You might have to apply at a Consulate if you are getting it through retirement.
Don't forget as an American, any money you earn in other countries has to be reported to the IRS so it can be taxed. Just one of the benefits of being an American!
LOL yeah I think it has to be OVER a hundred thousand at this point if you are LIVING in a foreign country... but yes the USA is a very entitled place! Besides over taxing their own citizens the place import taxes and tariffs on everything coming into the country! UGH!
Asking for a friend is there a Perito Traductor you recommend in merida? needs to have 🇺🇲apostilled documents translated to Spanish. Thanks Is the info on your website by any chance?
As far as i know you can enter Mexico through the land border by car and in many cases wont ask for a passport or ID worse case scenario they reject you and you try again another day. But as I have eluded in the past, if you do not have a passport you will find it very difficult to rent a place, or receive money, or a bunch of other things. And you can not get any migratory procedure done without one either. So if you come to Mexico without one do so at your own risk. I know there are many Americans which have had the ability to get a passport taken away from them and it is horrible, but outside of having documentation to prove your case to receive asylum there is nothing that can be done without a passport, here or in any country.

Sorry but us law has it, i can not even register it in the us to my name. Had to pay the former owner to do me a favour and reregister again and give me a day befor reporting plates lost to recieve insurance back.
Registering a vehicle in texas as a non european requiers a speciffic type of insurence that has to be be payed befor being able to get it registert on your name at a .in of 6 month out front. To be more precize, the insurence card that is requiered at registration would have been 5100 and then some. Just to get me on a harley from south huston to the border. Which i woulden't have to be allowed to cross in this configuration anyway.
Pro tip: if ever confronted with this, try my way. Offered the previous owner 10ü0$ to reregister on his name reuse his old plates and finaly rent it to me for a week which is absolute according to any law on both sides doesn't even affect insurence coverage.
