Filippo, I disagree with you that Mexico will never play defensively or in a low block, bc that’s precisely what we can observe that they did against Panama. Mexico seemed to by design, concede possession and hit on the counter. Panama had more possession and out shot Mexico 18 shots to 6 and lost 3-0. This was definitely a tactical shift in how they typically approach games against Central American opposition. Note also that they played a counter attacking game against Germany and tied 2-2, almost beating them. The same Germany that beat the USMNT 3-1 and has superior individual talent. The real question is will they try a similar strategy in the final or revert back to trying to play out from the back? If they can compete against Germany and destroy Panama playing that way. I agree that this would give them a chance against this USMNT.

With Weah being subbed off early, and Dest being suspended, I think the fresh legs of our right side will be the key to the game. Weah struggled a bit with Scally as his partner, but we've seen how dynamic he and Dest can be. Attacking down that side with Mckennie shading to the right like he does at Juve and allowing Balo and Pulisic to make off the ball runs in behind should be the way in this match.

I know they didn't want to get into it, but i believe Tata threw that mexico vs argentina game on purpose. Even before the interviews came out. Only reason i believe that is because of dropping edson for the match. You also have argentina who just lost to saudi arabia and tata would be villain number one if mexico knocked them out in the group stage. I'm not saying he went for the loss, but i think he went into that game aiming for a tie. But that edson decision was weird. I mean Messi amazing goal, edson would've been in that space and messi probably would not have shot. Instead he put in two box to box midfielders with guardado and herrera. lol Plus the goal didn't occur until the 2nd half. Edson should've been subbed in around the 50 minute mark to kill the game more and mexico could play the counter. I mean i could go on and on about that game. lower your expectation on the players. lets be real if you watch fulham and compare robinson and willian combination to pulisic. there is a massive drop off and this is 35 years old willian. lower your expectation. the only good player us have is antonee robinson. marco silva knows how to utilize him, he is elite in overlapping, attacking with pace, now if you’re using him to keep the ball and play combination and crossing from deep then you reduce him to very average fullback. move pulisic centrally and create space for robinson to attack. lets be real pulisic cant create anything out wide anyway.
