I have them and I simply love them. They have a flagship sound in a relatively portable closed-back. It’s a perfect balance between fun/audiophile sound and it’s very easy to drive. They have this kind of HiFiMan style highs but not sibilant or too harsh that maybe are not suitable for everyone (I think maybe the younger people, around their 20s or so, but to be honest, they can afford these headphones, so it’s not a big deal. XD XD XD it´s a joke), but the rest it´s simply magic. Bravo, Meze!
Hi! When you say the're easy to drive, could you give me some examples? Like straight from an Iphone or a 90s discman, how are they? I'd also love to know how they isolate exterior noise, I've been a 99 Classics user for years and have grown tired of being on a train or plane and having to raise the volume just to drown out outside noise.
Great set of cans, listened to them recently. Wondering how they compare to ZMF Bokeh and Atrium closed. Im from Norway, so no way to do a test as they are not sold localy. Both Meze and ZMF look beautiful though.
2:14 I'll be fucked if I go out shopping with $5k full-sized headphones on my head, ain't no way, lol. Even with just wired IEMs, I feel like a complete yobo.
I crank my liric 1. But I usually shelf down after 12k. Sometimes bass boost +5. And they sound good loud. I use them for the gym. The noise cancelation on the liric 1 is really good. I'd be interested to see how the 2 handles sound deadening with the removable pads. Which the pads are great so why are we removing them? But these are closed backs so... we want isolation for a reason right? Otherwise we would be buying open backs. Also. Why increase the 2k to 5k range with the new tuning. That range while coveted by some of the youtube/company reviewers a lot of us find that range glaring and abrasive. From the frequency response graphs the first liric wins. Idk I think Meze I'd trying to appease a lot of critical reviewers (treble whores) on RU-vid. Whereas most of their costumers buy Meze because they are warm and bassy.
Nice vid. My hifiman sundaras have recently been demolished by my 6 month old puppy sadly so I had to go back to my audio technica m50x, literally a pain to listen to video and music wise. The high end frequencies kill my ears, mids are muffled and lows are a catastrophe. Currently I'm looking into the hifiman edition xs refurbished directly from their website and I'm hoping its a decent upgrade in all aspects (low end, soundstage etc) considering the money.
@@ZReviews i think its a blessing in disguise in a sense. Going back to the m50x made me realise how much i have taken the sundaras for granted and going to the edition xs will be like being able to breathe again. Fun fact, i had to return my sundara 3 times because the left side driver failed 3 times randomly and this was the longest lasting set ive had 😂😂. Anyways 279usd ror a refurbished set of edition xs is a steal imo. The only problem is im in the UK so hopefully shipping etc wont destroy my wallet 😂
Here's the question of the day: When Z gets ahold of a Hiby R4 and has a chance to review it, how exactly is he going to ever, ever, *ever* recommend any other DAP, afterward? It's a quad-DAC monster with a $250 price tag and Hiby's proprietary OS and equalization. I'm thinking it's more-or-less going to end the discussion on the spot.
@@ZReviews It really does, doesn't it. Might be the least impressive thing about it that I've been able to find out so far -- can't *wait* for your review.
Nothing. Meze produces very mid to bad sounding headphones, especially for their price. They struggle with tuning mostly. Uneven trebles and upper mids and lack of detail makes them just bad. Every Meze headphone ive tried was very mediocre and unpleasant to listen to. This includes Lyrics 1. Thier build quality is dope tho.
@karolkedzierski5824 Yes, the 109pro or the Empyrean II, which has been named the best sounding headphones in its price category by almost every reviewer out there, are considered bad sounding headphones, sure :). Such is the power of the Internet, where you can talk shit without any proof or anything.
@@Mr1stcat AFAIK, all DCA headphones are cold and lifeless and dead sounding (I've only heard Noire and Aeon RT and that was my impression). DCA has no dynamics--that is their house sound. You either like it or you don't.
Does anyone know the price of well-preserved kidneys? I have one pair to sell, I still have them but we can make an agreement when you need them if the price is good or we can trade for these headphones 😂🎉❤❤
@@ZReviews sorry man I am trolling a little bit , but not because I hate you and your review, yes the price is bit spicy, but all in all thanks for review, good to know what 2K $ will get you 👍 ❤️
zeos, can you do a comparison of Meze Liric 2 and Kennerton Rognir. What would be the difference between these closed back sound and similar ranking open back Headphones, can we opt for closed backs instead of open backs? Thanks
