MG TF | Fixing a tonneau cover

I had a similar problem with my tonneau. I laid it out upside down on a flat surface and with a garden hose and a small scrubbing brush I pressure washed while gently rubbing with scrubbing brush , all of the broken down foam rubber just oozed though the netting cover , and when it dried it was perfect. Oh ..then I realised my car had chrome metal hoops so that was a useless exercise. I won’t use the excuse that I am into my eighties but I will use the fact that I have only had the car two months. I am not calling me an expert, but adding some devices to the machine to improve the rubbing during the washing might help as well. Typically these come free with the products used, otherwise a set of tennis balls might help as well.
