"Ask your doctor if Valstrax is for you! (If you feel any thoughts of suicide, have chronic explosive diarrhea, and or urinate blood contact your local doctor immediately) Take Valstrax!"
At what point does a crustacean evolve a gun claw that fires air bubbles that collapse so quickly the temperature is (very very very very) briefly comparable to that of the sun. Of course I speak of the Pistol Shrimp irl. Maybe not as over the top as rocket dragon, but sill, nature is fucking crazy lol.
"Valstrax"? Are you serious?! ...They made it EVEN COOLER with this official English name!!! Also, dissecting the name, 'Val' = Valor, 'stra' = stratospheric, & 'X' = a "cross" between a rocket, comet, dragon & falcon (also its wings are a "cross" between rockets, claws, lances & cannons)...
I know this comment is a year old, but I've also started to appreciate Valstrax's name when I found out it has a literal translation. Val=old Norse for slaughter or carnage. Strax=Icelandic for sudden or instant. So basically, Valstrax literally translated means instant carnage or sudden slaughter.
@@thomasbaird5324 Nergigante, Vaal Hazaak, and Teostra/Lunastra. THOSE would be fantastic Turf Wars! Bazel... is fourth or fifth in line. Deviljho might look more awesome. ;p
@@thomasbaird5324 maybe (if valfalk comes into the game) you fight him in the elders recess and they put in the Valfalk quest Bazelgeuse as an invading Monster. But i think they would just put another elder dragon in the quest like every quest in the elders recess where you fight Nergi, Kush or Teo.
The Comet Crash is arguably the most fabulous move in Val's set. And the second most fabulous in the game. Atal-Ka's Metal Gear is obviously the best, though.
This is my absolute favorite monster in the series. I loved this thing ever since I first saw it in the trailer for double cross. Its badass design, its amazing weapons, its fantastic armor (will be my main armor in GU), and finally, its music. HOLY CRAP its music! The damn chorus just makes it. I would love to see this beast appear in world. That would be the most surreal thing in the game. Just imagine it scrap a fight with nergigante. Anyway, great video gaijin. :]
Valstrax Valstax ValSAX Valsax for subspecies. It's roar is just a saxophone jazz tune, and it's attacks all make saxophone sounds. Also, it's projectiles are music notes.
The divebomb is so awesome to me. It acts exactly how a sonicboom would be. Sound literally has to catch up when it lands. The attack is so powerful, valstrax has to rest for a few seconds. Just the small attentions to detail.
Great vid as usual, but u should try the g-rank version to show off more of its moveset. As rusty as u say u are im sure its not too hard for someone like you
matt matt I don't want to be spoiled from that, so I just watch until he gets to the monster. It'll ruin my fun if I know everything about it right from the bat.
SOCIO If I know how to fight it, I'll get bored faster. I prefer to be a noobie to new monsters. I've been that way for 9 whole years. If I want something to look forward to, I can watch the ecology for the 40th time today. I really like the ecology.
SOCIO And plus, I've been waiting 2 whole years to fight it. Imagine being a dog, but your treat is under a cage, and you can't get to it until your master lifts the cage.
Your weapon reminds me...It would be great if you showed just how unique and different the weapons look in MHGU (heck even MH4U). You mentioned in an older video how the weapons in MHW just don't feel as inspired (not quoted). I think showing the weapons from other games will give a better idea of what you meant, which I think is something Capcom totally missed out on with MHW.
Thank you for your uploads! I'm super stoked for MHGU and your vids have helped me freshen up since I haven't played Monster Hunter since I got burnt out on generations. You helped me choose and learn weapons on MH4U, Generations, and now thanks to you I'm refreshed and know what to expect on GU. Stay cool, Gaijin!
nadoll I genuinely don't recommend you do that unless you plan on getting other games as well. The game is okay but there is not nearly as much content as you think. The final boss monster pretty much trivalizes getting any other armor besides transmog. He also has probably the 3rd best weapons in the game.
Quentin I didn't word my comment well at all so my bad for that. I meant that MHGU is going to be what finally makes me go out and get a Switch. There are plenty of games on it that I've been wanting to play but MHGU finally coming overseas is definitely the selling point for me 😊
@Quentin What do you mean "not nearly as much content"? Aren't there like 80+ Monster in the game to hunt? Also it's got G-Rank. I honestly considerung buying a switch just for MH and maaaybe zelda. Besides World I have played the original PS2 game as well as FU. Can you specify why you wouldn't recommend it to buy a switch for it?
MHGU has Tons of content, around 100 monsters and plenty of quest. Not to mention that you'll have lots to grind so you can unlock cool things like Blood Bath diablos, you can only unlock him after doing the other deviants but it's worth it. And the final boss armor isn't terrible it actually makes it so that you have more flexibility when adding skills. You can create amazing sets using its armor since it increases the points you get from skills. Using the final boss's armor does become a meta, but people wont all have the same skills so it's still pretty diverse. And thanks to the transmog feature you can put a fashion armor set on so that you dont look like everyone else.
Maaaaan! I haven’t been to your channel in so long. I just graduated marine bootcamp. I’ve missed so much on Monster Hunter! So glad MHGU is coming out!
Thanks for showing Valstrax off! Ever since I saw footage of him from MHXX coverage I put him up there as one of my top 5 monsters of all time, and now that MHGU is announced for the Switch I can't wait to fight him finally and I will craft everything from him!
John Paul Keller i cant even know the differences between sarcasm or not anymore, because there's so many sarcasm and stupid comments everywhere, sorry for not getting the joke tho
Gaijinhunter, I'm really appreciating these videos and this coverage. I'm gonna miss the quality of life changes, but there are so many monsters I miss hunting, and so many that I never got the chance too. The only 3ds game I picked up was 4u, and I couldn't play it for very long because the 3ds would hurt my hands after like half an hour of playing. I don't have switch, but I mean, it will only be like the fourth time I've had to buy a gaming device/console for monster hunter, so I guess I'm used to it now.
I really hope Valstrax comes back for some of the other games. It's SUCH a cool concept for a monster, it's a really fun fight, and the music is incredible, it'd be a shame if it stays stuck in Generations...same kinda story with Seregios actually
I think the thing I liked most about Gen and GU is probably just... how appreciably 'just right' the monsters are. Like, I *really* don't like Frontier's monsters most of the time, because they try to be so cool that they don't really take any actual time to be... 'fantastic, but grounded' like basically all mainline monsters. Like, Valstrax here looks completely absurd for the first, like, hour you're looking at him. He's a fucking rocket dragon, how could that be reasonable? ... Because, I mean, when you think about it, he's just doing a Deviljho but through his wings. Like, effectively, literally all he's doing is breathing dragon energy really hard out of his wings, because he has that second respiratory system you can *see him using* when he needs to hyperventilate through his chest intake. You're basically kicking the guy while he's having an asthma attack because all the 'recharge' animation is, is him literally taking a breather after overextending because he wants you dead too badly. Gen/GU was really good at having monsters that are just crazy enough that we can have a rocket dragon that I can totally nod at and tell you it seems legit and I love that.
Cobalt Kirikizan Agreed, and don't forget about Ahtal Ka. He's a mantis that literally builds a mecha out of junk, and can *control it* to...but, there's some neat ecology lore behind WHY Ahtal Ka build these things.
Dang I love this monster. I'm so happy to see more out-of-the-ordinary monster designs! On a side note, am I the only one who likes the old 3DS graphics from 4U more? The sharp textures in this game just feel kind of weird to me, like it doesn't mesh together well or something. Of course, I haven't actually gotten to play the game so I can't say for sure, but so far from watching it feels weird for me.
Valstrax is a cool-ass name. Snappy, makes it sound powerful. Also gives it sort of an otherworldly feel, which I suppose is fitting considering the mystery surrounding it that there's supposed to be. Whereas Barufaruku may have worked for Japan, but just transliterating it as Valfalk makes it sound like... I dunno, a trumpet...
I'm seriously hyped! MHG is by no means my favorite MH ( not even close) but Ultimate may fix one of my biggest gripes with it. 1. MH4U 2. MHW 3. MH3U 4. MHG 5. MH3
i liked the new name, i like the changes that the localization team do to the monsters names... too bad that we will only get the switch version, while on the other side of the world, they got both ds and switch versions. #MHGUFOR3DS
the japanese have both, so why can't we? tbh, im tired of this "waiting for localization", "japanese exclusive content", etc... if mhw did something right, it was that launching everywhere at same time proved very successful. while mhxx proved that making us wait can crush the hype of the fans.
Neo noah yeah I'm with you bro. I have a switch so all is good for me. But my friend only has a 3ds so he can't play it. And I was really looking forward to playing with him. It honestly wouldn't even be that much work to do. They have it translated now they literally just have to apply the text to the 3ds version.
trxy jxzy, it isnt available here yet, that is, unless i pay 2x the actual price to get one from somewhere else, but honestly, i'd rather buy an ps4 rather than buy an overpriced switch.
Valstrax made me think of the line from Short-Round, in Temple of Doom, when fighting it. “Holy Smokes! Crash landing!” Loved the theme, even from the demo. It has that epic theme that makes you think you are squaring off with either Ganondorf or a Xenoblade final boss, for the last time.
Chimeng Thao Yeah i like Valfalk But Barufaruku now thats mouthfull And Amatsu still has the longest and mouthfull name XD(Amatsu is just its short name the real name which both used for Japan and English release is very long)
Reno Kyrielium I like Barufaruku because of the r’s, especially when you enunciate them. I pronounce it like “Bah - Rū - fa - Rū - kū”. And I also love Amatsu’s name, in fact it’s my favorite monster.
The problem with World is that there's so many roofed areas in the game that his supermove wouldn't really work, or at the least he would clip through walls and you wouldn't be able to see him in the sky. He might work in the Waste, and maybe Coral, and like 40% of Elder's Recess. He'd have to have very strict areas in which he could enter but maybe, just maybe.
Ik but lets not forget that rajang lost his triple spin move for a slam which was deadly but super easy to dodge and he doesn't throw boulders at you now(i heard he does but I've yet to see it in my 3 hunts).
Something I missed a lot from these games in world was the uniqueness of weapons. The bow you use looks like a damn sword. It's amazing and I want that style of design back in MH world
We've got some elitist jackass crowing on and patronising fans who came into the franchise by MHW and then we've got gaijinhunter hitting the "love" button that comment. It doesn't speak particularly well if the biggest Western-market content creator for the franchise is openly supporting derision of the new fans. He should be ashamed.
David Kemp I think the original comment that Gaijin liked was misunderstood by some people including yourself David. I don't try to necessarily speak for him, but the way I interpreted it was that it is slightly disappointing that having to explain certain mechanics and nuances of past games that the newer people have never had to experience. That is what I read it as. I feel like he might be getting a little too much hate for it though
Why should be "disappointing" to have to explain things to newcomers? I bet gaijinhunter has had an absolute load of new subscribers and views (and therefore more cash from his channel) as a result of MHW. No one is forced to watch the MHW content. I think people recognise the damage the release of this game on Switch could do, especially if people go into it thinking it will as honed and polished as MHW, it could cause some blowback, so it was a good idea for GH to make a video to tell those people exactly what this game is and is not. Irregardless, no one, no matter how long they've been with the franchise, should be looking down their nose at anyone else. It's worth remembering that the new people brought in by MHW have provided cash to Capcom that will secure future MH games.
Megabakufun2 Zinogre is a trash name. It’ll always be Jinouga! (I’m joking btw)
6 лет назад
Megabakufun2 In case you're replying to me, you're right but still. I actually STILL prefer "Jinouga" over "Zinogre" and I will still call this dragon of awesomeness "Valphalk". If you don't, you're still right anyway.
DamatteKudasai what's with the passive aggressiveness LMAO. I've already played the game I'm just saying it would be cool to see one of the best monsters in HD world style
Vel'Kozby The Master Baiter Turf wars are boring, it's behavior would be toned town, and it's attacks would also be toned down. The only advantage to Valtrax being in World would be better graphics.
Volroc Destinos Most people won't be hunting most monsters due to how to broken the last boss monster armor set is. So kinda be prepared to be dissapointed
I disagree. Valfalk sounds absolutely dreadful and awkward on my tongue, and I can't take it anywhere near seriously. In my opinion, it sounds like a five year old named it. Valstrax sounds so much better, and a lot smoother to say. If you like "Valfalk", all the power to you. But I personally can't stand how it sounds. lol
Have you seen the Switch's specs? It's a decent little hunk of plastic, but it'd probably explode if it tried to run World. Hell, my PS4 screams in agony every time it tries to load more than a few barrel bomb explosions at once.
As cool as Valstrax is to most of you guys, I don't believe he is ever gonna come to MHWorld because he is to much over the top with his anime meteor jet turbo engine powers.
I'd love that! Personally, I wouldn't get it, but it would be great since my friend still doesn't have a Switch (nor could he really get one currently) and there's crossplay, so we'd still be able to play together! I feel like Capcom will probably do it, but it's hard to say considering it took them a year to get the game overseas anyway...
This will be my 2nd monster hunter game I couldn’t wait for a eng demo so I got the Japanese demo and just fought him omg it’s a amazing fight I can’t wait for it to be released so I can actually read the menus and get stuck in
Man this takes me back. Wish I had a switch. The only thing that I wish mhw had was a portable version too... But that's only because of visiting hospitals so much....
