In this video we check out a quick look at what Valor style is, one of the unique features of MHGU. **************** Support gaijinhunter: fundrazr.com/gaijinhunter_donate
when playing the charge blade is already like driving a car on manual transmission, looks like valor adds one more layer of mental move calculation over it D: I can't handle all this combo wombos.
@jhulen naw, I've no intention to make animations on MHGU unfortuantely. I already bought a PSQuad for world, not going to shell out for a switch. if It comes out for the 3DS too (unlikely) then I may consider.
Don't forget, the damage you take while doing the valor-dodge depends on the attack you evade. Evading an attack from a Super Deviant still takes 40% of your health into the red!
EmilyNyan that means that resentment/resuscitate combo may see use. activate frenzy fever or bubble evade for resuscitate atk boost then use brave sheath to make red health for resentment atk boost.
I meant when you hold Y to put away your weapon. If you "get hit" you automatically dodge, but still take red health damage. The amount of that is dependent on the attack/damage the monster would do to you if you didn't dodge. :p
EmilyNyan ok, good. I was about to ask the question concerning this. So the damage you take from a valor evade is relative to the attack. Good to know.
I purposely avoid as much MHW content as I am able to until I play the game myself once its out for PC so I wouldn't have known that. Welp, I guess I won't be making my usual amount of weapons for that game then
TheInmoralFlame Yeah don’t expect to be thrilled by a lot of the weapons designs in world, most of them aside from a VERY few. Just look like shameless Re-Skins of each other with no creativity or thought put into the designs. Seriously I know you may not want to be spoiled but just look up the list of weapons in world look at their designs and then compare them to this games designs.
Hey Gaijin, I noticed you didnt talk about this when you first reviewed brave charge blade, but the double slash is available to you in brave mode even without the brave stance. You can only do it after a shield thrust. It also charges by itself so you dont need to hold A. Even better, you can do a shield thrust immediately after the brave shield guardpoint dodge making it super quick. EVEN BETTER, shield thrust into double slash almost always fills the phials up to red. If brave mode wasnt already good enough, this is like an innate Focus added along.
Still learning Valor Style tbh. I've been using it in the start and just reached six star quests in low rank (I'm a wee baby with this game >.< still got a long way to go!) and I was using the Valor stance as more of an evasive maneuver type thing, which made the fight with Astalos really fun, but then I went up against Glavenus today and was using it to avoid his big hitter attacks and noticed that a) I was still on fire, and b) I was still missing massive amounts of health. I now realize that's because it mitigates most damage and it basically saved me from being one shot by his insane damage dealing moves thanks to your video ^-^ pluuuuus... I also kinda messed up with charging it, because I only sorta realized I could actually attack while in Valor Stance, but I only ever did that in Valor Mode, so I just assumed it was a thing you could only do in Valor Mode (idk why I didn't test to see if I could do it outside of it). So, definitely going to test this out and get more of a feel for this style with some lower monsters before I take on my good ol' buddy Gore Magala. Edit: just tested it out and uhh... yeah, fully charged my bar in about 6 uses of valour stance with a weapon attack, so 6 attacks. It used to take me two+ minutes for it to charge, so uhhh... yeah, this will be a pretty drastic change in my play style.
glad to find this video. its cool to see an explanation of a hunting style itself rather than just how it changes the moves for a particular weapons at the end of other videos
Man I can't wait to get into this once I cop a switch; after playing World my interest in MH has skyrocketed, plus I just love the style of the older games as far as I've seen.
The styles is a great addition they added to Generations and GU. It just adds more to the gameplay, which also make the same weapon feel a little different and unique.
where I live we are having bas times with economy so I can`t pay as much as I wanted for video games. But now I`ll realy try t get a Switch this year, it has enough games to justify it`s ourchase for me, I just hope to see and MHGU Switch bundle, that would make my day.
@Tidal Yacht he just said he wanted to play mhgu what are you on about dude, that literally has nothing to do with what the guy said. no reason to go all "people like you" on him, jeez
While I am excited for this to come to the west. (I'm glad I held off importing all those months.) I still want to see Zinogre and Mizutsune in World and see them have a turf war.
OneWingedHeron53 it would end in a draw. While zinogre is more physical built and capable of more damage, mizutsune is incredibly agile and fast, allowing him to harass the zinogre without putting itself in that much harm, but it also doesn’t do that much damage either. For an example of this the MH generations opening cinematic is a wonderful source. If only world had a fancy opening cinematic... And before anyone gets on my case for assuming the bubble-fox is male, it is a male mizutsune. Concept art of the monster shows the males having larger fins that are capable of changing color when he gets tired or angry, while the females have much smaller fins that lack this ability. Every mizutsune you fight in this game is capable of the fin-color change, thus signifying he, is in fact, male. The species in general is usually quite docile, but mating season gets the males all grumpy, so the guild sends hunters to take care of any males that are getting to close to any settlements.
OneWingedHeron53 sadly mizutsune isnt coming to world for a long time(maybe never). They had problems with the Leviathan class skeleton animations wich is why lagaicrus was scrapped.
It's not world graphically, but this game does look pretty nice. Also, Capcom needs to hire you lol. There really wouldn't be a better person for those monster hunter videos or live streams that they put out, no offense to the guys they've got now. You've got the enthusiasm and knowledge for sure.
You can also AED by pressing X+A during a Valor Stance in axemode. I don't know if it's weaker than the everyday AED, but it sends your character moving forward quite a bit, which can be useful.
heres the thing adept sucked for charge blade, it was unnecessary and forced with more defensive measures when you have guard point, while brave actually enhanced your offensive potential
True, but for someone like me who enjoys playing with the SnS mode more often, it wasn't bad, but I prefer the blue shield over the quick red shield that superglues me to SnS mode even more.
I love the mechanical complexity of the charge blade, and this sounds like a lot of fun, but I still don't know if I'll pick this up. I'm going to be moving to Japan for the foreseeable future soon (in large part to finish learning the language), and I don't want to feel like I'm just playing a year's worth of catch up (assuming I make some friends who play MH) because my japanese reading is my weakest point and I didn't want to require constant translation to read game text.
Hey gaijinhunter! I'm getting MHGU when it's coming out this August, and I'm still playing MHGen - now my favourite weapon of choice + style is the DB Aerial, and I've seen your video covers Brave/Valor style for DB. I just need your personal opinion between the 2 styles in terms of funness eg which of the 2 you'd go for in the long run. Cheers!
I played the junk out of MHG; pretty much mained charge blade exclusively. Didn't touch it in world because I was so sick of it. But now, Valor Style has me 9 kinds of excited to play it again
I would love to see a video showcasing the other weapons with this style! I've mainly been a fan of the aerial style, cause I tend to learn something and then get comfy and stick with it, but my play style is fairly aggressive...so I'd love to see how this works out with the glaive...since that's about all I use too. I only gunned against Malfestio because I kept getting caught in that dang inverted controls crap, so until I really got used to its hunts I stayed back and shot at it while letting my cats do all the close up work xD
Valor is definitely the best way to play Charge Blade imo Yeah Striker has that nice bonus to axe attacks but I just love the mobility that Valor adds Chainsaw is best CB Hunter Art because it fully charges your phials and then COMBOs into AED2 5 phials stocked, 5 from red sword charge, and then 5 more phials from Chainsaw equals 15 FUCKING AEDs with a big opening Ducking and dodging while smacking the monster with AED1, dodging RIGHT INTO ATTACKS in sword mode, and using SAED without losing shield charge Valor is so much fun for players who are confident enough to NEVER STOP ATTACKING
If I have punish draw does doing a valor sheath count as actually sheathing for the draw attack or not. It would be pretty sick to just need to press sheath to stat maxing my dmg
This may be a unpopular opinion but, I really miss the bright and colorful visuals of MH4/MHG rather than dull visuals of MHW. It remind me back when MH didn't take itself too seriously.
Valoe7 World doesn’t take itself too seriously, but it’s definitely a little more serious than previous entries. No cooking music, more grounded monster designs, and less outlandish weapons.
CompleteBS I like the more grounded and less outlandish designs, but I am new to the series so it's not like I can offer an opinion with the same weight as a long time fan.
Daddy they’re definitely not dull, but the older games were more colorful. Compare the Ancient Forest with something like the Ancestral Steppe or the Primal Forest. Coral Highlands looks beautiful, but overall World is definitely less vibrant.
I can never beat the valstrax, it's so hard, and even when I'm playing with my homies in multiplayer, still can't beat it. I really dig that music though. And the charge blade, I don't understand that weapon really, I transform my sword and shield into the giant axe, and when the charge blade says charge, I don't really know what that means. What do I charge? I need some help with that weapon.
Honestly, I was just excited to finally regain the mobility of my beloved aerial style, but depending on how valor affects other weapons, I can’t say I’m not thoroughly intrigued.
I'm on the fence when it comes to getting MHGU, since it also means getting a switch sooner than I had planned... But after seeing your past brave GL video...guuuuuuuh....Me...want...big Booms...
Wow looks like Valor Style is my answer to playing CB in MHGU when I'm a first time CB user in World. I still don't like the lack of the short cut shield bash into SAED though.
Umm Mr. Gaijin, when in brave mode u can get into quick full charge slash after Shield bash (X+A) amd after that press A, i found when i forgot that im not playing in striker style by pressing A, it faster rather than use brave mode full charge slash or u already knew about it
Eldon Hill Yeah I have those already. It's just the new/changed ones that I don't have yet XD. I know there's a book but apparently it's not accurate at all
Freesia Crieyer Lmao you could say that for a lot of the weapons designs in World honestly. Compared to MHGU and titles before it the weapons designs actually felt like there was genuine thought put into them and felt unique and not shameless re-skins of each other.
Jodoni. I like the idea behind the evolved weapon design based on monster parts they crafted on. But then, the end design of each path feel kinda empty & "lazy".... only some of them are good....
Let's hope G rank (when it hits) gives every weapon their unique design. A lot of weapons can still be rolled back from their 'final form,' which to my mind says they've got something planned.
Freesia Crieyer Yeah It’s honestly highly disappointing. The weapons design team for World clearly has the ability to conjure up some badass designs yet they choose to go the easy route and why? I honestly do not know, was it to appeal more to western gamers? To cut back on time? Either way Most the designs are just straight up shit. And it’s pretty sad because most newcomers to MH through world wouldn’t get to experience the benefit of making a badass looking weapon to call yours unless they go back to the older games. Which I don’t see all of them doing due to all the QOL changes world introduced.
I agree that world s weapons have a pour/similar design but diabolos CB is one of the rare that looks realy better than before.. Look at this, it looks like à turtle shell xd
to those of you who do not know the Brave/Valor mode it is crazy OP if you guys have the time check how the HBG works on Valor mode its a beast it's like your holding a minigun so op.
The only problem with Valour CB is that it's real awkward to hold Y then reach for the A button, other than that it's really good. The awkwardness of holding Y then pressing A did put it off for me and I'm sticking with Adept
Plus I don't want to buy switch only for mhgu (there are other goods games on switch, yes, but still I don't feel like buying a switch is worth). Beetwing buying a switch or buying a good computer, my choice is done.
@@HachiDenki i have played 200h of mhxx on 3ds, you could play the game without buying a switch tho. Also a did purchased a computer for nearly 700€ 2 weeks ago (ryzen 5 2600, geforce gtx 1060 6GB, 16 GB of RAM ddr4, motherboard is asus prime b450). Mhw runs perfectly, i only have few drops of fps when daora summons a lot of tornados.
Can you show the Hunter Arts introduces in MHXX? I’ve played MHGen but not MHXX since it was Japanese only, so I didn’t get to experience the new Hunter Arts.
