I choked a bit at the end but I'm done with non TA. I never wallbanged anyway and mantles don't do THAT much for CB, outside of being able to facetank a bit. Next Alatreon run is going to be TA. Also, my cat was useless.

The two best things in this hunt: 1. He never used wallbang. Every other fight I've seen starts with one, this guy just opts to slide down Alatreon's face and keep going. 2. Everyone else runs away and preps their jerky or max potions for the EJ, Aki just had faith that he'd weakened it enough and kept on swinging. Madman.

Wall bang is useless in solo since it's better to make him enrage at the start of the fight since he takes 1.2x more damage for 90 seconds are better than wasting almost and entire minute to wall bang and then tenderizing and stuff

Damn you're a monster. You motivated me to get my HR Nergi times down to 2:20 (CB) back in the day and now I guess I'm gonna see if I can manage this one too (my current time is like 15 min lol with dragon dual blades). Not a speed runner but its fun to git gud

@@TheSh1v uh no I'm not a speedrunner but I eventually got him in 24 mins, eventually shortening it to 15 Shepard isn't a competitive monster speedrunner and he got it Stop underestimating yourselves and use the time to learn the matchup. Its not even that difficult once you learn it EDIT: BTW Shepard did a guide on Alatreon. Use it

Probably nothing for this fight. I've i-framed his nova without any Evade Windows, which is what you probably meant. Extender just makes you roll farther.

I really like this fight and think it’s a huge improvement over the old one. The difficulty seems really overblown-what do you think of all the outrage, and what do you think of it compared to old Alatreon?

Visually speaking is amazing The best in game apart From both zinogre and xeno and safi'jivaa About the mechanics is easy Just gotta figure it out This thing hits like a truck so this fight is tense And fun at the same time The soundtrack is amazing I'll give it a 10/10

Yeah if you get a triple element break, the nova only deals ~170 damage which is less than the 200 hp you have with a meal and hb3

Is it a "dps check" in the sense you have to be aggressive or is it a simple damage threshold you can beat in your own time?

you have to be really aggressive, but if you get the elemental stagger on him once before escaton you should be okay

it is a massive dps check. if you fail it you definitely die.

The DPS check is purely elemental. Even if you use raw heavy weapons, you can spam some of your faster moves, that have decent Elemental motion values and you are good to go. For Hammer it's the spin move for example. If you try hard enough, every weapon can break through the DPS check easily.

@@AkantoreX So does it work like a stagger limit/part break, or does alatreon have a "cooldown"? The way you describe it makes it sound like you just have to do a ton of damage in a short time frame, but if you did the same damage over the course of minutes, it would not cause the topple. Because obviously that's lower DPS in the true sense of DPS.

He elemental dmg checked twice before Alatreon did the attack so it was greatly weakened. You see you hit the dmg check when he falls down and you get a message from the handler

First question, not really sure about that Second, savage axe dealt consistent damage with elemental attack in this kind of monster. Sure SAED dealt more mathematically, but only if you can land all of em, where against alatreon, you almost get no opening / chance for that

I'm a terrible freestyle player. If I had wallbang, used my options to the utmost limit and had a useful Cat, this time would've been 1 minute faster. Reason I never use SAEDs is because openings are too short, raw and elemental damage is not big enough to warrant spamming it on Alatreon and Savage Axe is straight up better in this match up, due to the openings we get.

This is a day 1 run, when people still had no real idea how to fight him. CB Freestyle and SnS Freestyle are pretty close (around 5 minutes flat), while HBG has almost 3 minute solo atm.

@@AkantoreX I agree it was just a little Joke but I'd still love to see more players showing the SnS more respect or more like witnessing the potential. I believe the Frostcraft SnS build has the highest dmg potential out of all the melee weapons but right now there are only a few japanese runners picking this weapon. Anywas still an awesome run compared to my struggle day one solo its almost legendary doing this.

If you have Guard 5 you can block and then follow up with a counter.

You can augment your weapon to have health regen on hit

Adding to the above comment, the Safi armor drains your HP with each attack but after a certain number of successive hits it regents more than it takes. Elemental CB builds use both the health augment and Safi regent in concert to keep topped off.
