there might be no magic in our world but we actually have a magic called "no fall damage"

Imagine, in thw witcher game itself after you complete this special assignment, the pukei-pukei accidentally goes in one of the leshen's portal, after that you get a new contract to find a "strange beast" and slay it, after which you travel along and eventually find the pukei-pukei, both geralt and that pukei remember eachother and the pukei ends up becoming your partner.

Love how Capcom tried to make the gameplay as close as they could to TW3's gameplay with the SFX, dialogue options, and quest UI n stuff.

Geralt would love this world. Most of the books are him being conflicted as to whether or not he should fight and kill these monsters because they're going extinct. But in this case, there's way too many, and a lot of money can be made. Geralt was built for this world.

Being honest, the thing I loved the most is having the Pukei-Pukei as an ally, I wish this becomes a feature in the future

One of the things I enjoy about Geralt's character is that he seems to enjoy his role as a Witcher. It really says something about being content with a Job other people would go out of their way to avoid.

So he's in Soul Calibur 6 and MHW? He somehow fits *VERY* well in this game

Now Geralt can finally jump, back in the Great Kingdoms a mere fence feels like a fortress wall.

It's been almost a year... And I still have an existencial need of a full Witcher game set on the MH universe.

Witcher 3 is such a masterpiece, it still feel epic just having geralt and it's music in a different game.

I love how much this mission uses Witcher 3 mechanics while you're playing as Geralt, right down to how you select dialogue

Our hunter sounds like a god holding off literally every monster in the forest so the don't get in the way like damn did they just put him in the arena with like 50 of every kinda

Imagine if the Palico and the Pukei Pukei followed Geralt through the Leshen portal, imagine the adventures they’d have and the reaction they’d get from other people.

Pukie-pukie would be an amazing mount in Witcher

Saving Pukie-Pukie in this gameplay puts a really warms my heart especially the ending scene where Pukie-Pukie and this furry cat thanked Geralt for saving the island but Imagine having Rathalos or Great jagras teaming up with Geralt? That'll be cool

Man, i regret killing Pukei-Pukei's now. Wish you can summon a monster you help and have it as a team mate. To balance it out, you won't be able to call in players. Imagine having an Nergigante as a team mate :D

I feel that this quest, as good as it is (except for the frustrating timer and the difficulty of keeping the Pukei-Pukei alive), represents a missed opportunity in MHW overall. The fact that you can rescue a Pukei-Pukei, leading it to befriend you, is pretty heartwarming, along with the fact that this particular Pukei-Pukei is friends with the Bugtrapper Grimalkynes as shown in the last cutscene (while usually Pukei-Pukeis are pretty aggressive Monsters). This is the kind of stuff that would've made MHW even more awesome: some quests where you have to save Monsters as a change from all these quests where you must hunt them (which, lore-wise, is necessary or else the Guild wouldn't have made it a quest, but still), whether you kill them or capture them. Lore-wise, the Hunter's Guild is very far from being a bunch of poachers or people who like hunting for sports (that is the player's choice in their actions in non-canon expeditions or quest retrys), but they're rather actually regulators and protectors of the very fragile balance of the ecosystem at large. In that respect, again, it would've been very nice if the devs gave us this kind of monster rescue side quests like they did for this Witcher crossover quest. I for one was excited to learn from a friend that I'd get the opportunity to have my character save a Pukei-Pukei from another Monster, only to be disappointed to find out that this quest doesn't make you play as your own character with Geralt as an ally NPC, but instead forces you to play as Geralt while your own character is sidelined. And yes, I do know about Monster Hunter Stories: but I think it is possible to have this kind of nice scenes between hunter and monster without having to turn monsters into freaking Pokémon-like companions. Manifestations of peaceful coexistence that the Hunter's Guild has always fought to preserve in the MH games do not have to lead to domestication. That is not what I'm saying. And if you're about to answer something like "this is Monster HUNTER, what did you expect, go play Animal Crossing you snowflake lol", please reread my comment.

You'll receive 1 atk Jewel (Note: not repeatable, you'll receive a worn jewel thereafter).

0:13 - 0:22 oh so that's how he wound up in Soul Calibur 6 as well.

That cat at the end had more emotion in its voice than in the entire game.

So weird to see Geralt running like he have something between his legs, jump from one rope to other like Tarzan, survive the fall and prone through plants/trees.

This is arguably one of the coolest events I've ever seen in a game.

5:50 that fall would have killed Geralt 50 times over on lowest difficulty.

I remember doing this for the first time and i was emotionally invested in that pukei pukei and when he died i literally screamed at the top of lungs.

you just gave me a reason to re-fight the Leshen, to save one of my favourite monsters from the New World.

Pukei is legit one of my favorite monsters because of how derpy he looks and the idea of him nigarundayo all the time is funny. I dont even kill them and just capture. My first iceborne quest for pukei rewarded me with 2 fey gems on my first try so I love pukei.

Damned portals...

For noobs like me who took like 10 tries because I was struggling to keep Pukei alive I would suggest staying as far away from Pukei as possible during the fight and making the Leshen attack you, the biggest problem I found was Pukei taking major collateral damage as the Leshen was attacking me because it was too close. Grab the 3 EZ Lifepowders when from the camp, you probably won't need more than 6. Save your Igni for the Jagras because they die in one hit to it and will target the Pukei Pukei, and besides that just do everything you can to break the Leshen's head

i Love how they did a Witcher style quest in a completly different game

It must be soo strange for Geralt to come to a new world where no one fears him and everyone accepts him. I hope this turns out to be canon cause what he says in the end, that the hunter and geralt will meet again. Imagine a Gore magala going to the witcher's world and geralt calling onto the hunter for help, everyone in the witcher world shocked at the size of the weapons and armors. Though they may be more shocked at the food sizes.

Its actually pretty humorous how Witcher-looking my Hunter looked like when this came out. So my Hunter original had Fuschia colored hair and Orange eyes and no scars. However for a Halloween season in World i had him dress up as Dante from DMC so i turned his hair stark white like Dante and Geralt's and never got around to changing it back. And as a sorta character development/personal progress tracker, i had put scars on his face for every major milestone in the game (1 for beating Zorah Magdaros and going to high rank, and 1 for beating Nergigante and Xeno'jiiva.) So my character had apparently undergone the Trial of the Grasses and became a Witcher by the time this collab came around

Pukei: "We're just monsters, we're meant to be slayed and made bags out of" Geralt: "Not to me"

I've never played Monster Hunter but I play Witcher 3 and after watching this video makes me want to buy Monster Hunter.
