Mi-8 - The Beautiful Eight 

Considering we got the regular Mi-8TV along with it in its seperate line, we can see a future Mi-8MTV variant, which had more options such as gunpods and flares, and maybe even some modernized Mi-8/17 variants that can carry Atakas. Is it worth really taking it over the dedicated attack helicopters? Not really, but it's cool and fun to fly.

@@thelaotianaviator agreed! I love my Mi-8 in DCS, no different in War Thunder! Such a cool and amazing aircraft, in the 70's I think it held the record (and probably still does) for most variants from VIP transport, Medi-vac and gunship/airborne-artillery, would be funny to get the Naval Mi-8 as a premium

Yeah that would be awesome! I was messing around in test drives to check it out, and I also discovered something else. If you set the time of day to night and the weather to storm, you can't see anything (unlike in regular night battles where visibility is still fair). In these conditions NVD is actually super good, and IR spotlights are quite useful too despite being a neglected mechanic. I can't wait for night battles to return to the game, and I hope that we could also see night battles at lower BRs because even without NVD seeing muzzle flashes and tracers flying would be sick. TL;DR: Weather is cool, so are night battles. Can't wait for them to come back new and improved.

I totally agree. The weather effects are nice but it seems like their only mode is severe weather which seems odd with clear blue skies. Further, that level of wind should have an effect on shell trajectories, especially at long ranges. 15 days without my F9F-8 Cougar!@@carsamba0055

Yes, the bolt head may stay where it is, but the bolt body will fly into the tank, this was a problem on ww1 tanks as well as inter-war tanks and the Cromwell being a ww2 example along side the Pz.38(t)

I hear you there I had many vehicles researched and ready to be bought but I was waiting for the new Sale for the trees but nope it all got messed up and now I have to research a couple vehicles to get the one that's already researched or have to research the one b4 it all of a sudden. They didn't give much of a warning on how the tree would be exactly when the update hit for the live server and only would know if you loaded the Dev server and all changes are not final on the dev server so how would we exactly know what's going where.

or the George V, Nelson and Rodney, Missouri, Mushasi, Nagato... Naval can still grow, greatly. Not even considering submarines or aircraft carriers.

I would like to see the USS Missouri as she was in 1945 and the USS Iowa as she was in 1985. Since paperwork designs often find their way into War Thunder, I would also like to see the USS Montana (designed as successor to the Iowa class)

Yeah could be like in naval or air battle with AI unit to destroy or a building to shell that could be an HQ needing a specific amout of TNT to be destroyed. HE rounds would be more usefull in this scenario.

@@ousou78 Ive been playing the game since 2015. Capturing the objectives kinda got old. Especially in top tier.. It would be a "natural evolution" for the game to update tank battles a bit.

It shouldn't spin but I don't doubt your observation of the animation. Smoothbore guns are used specifically for fin-stabilized shells because spin disrupts the armor-penetration qualities of the shell. Spin does in fact stabilize a shell for better accuracy at long distance but, with modern targeting computers, the accuracy can be calculated and spin is no longer necessary.

If you are referring to the horizontal stabilators at the tail, by diverging in seperate directions, they not only affect vertical but also enhance roll response. Older airplanes with direct linkages couldn't do that but modern flight control systems running through a computer can select and alter to make the airplane do as the pilot desires and even often permit safe control of a critically damaged airframe. An F-15 safely recovered after losing an entire wing, despite the wing commander ordering the pilot to bail out.

Can we have the Sherman tank in the game? The T-34 and the Messerschmitt Bf109 would also be great.😆

It serves a similar purpose as the M1A1's stowage rack on the back of the turret, it is better to have your crews personal stuff outside the interior of the hull as if you get a situation where a fire breaks out your items will not burn. Also the space inside the tank is already limited, no space to store non-combat items inside.

Dozer blades were actually rare on Shermans because, after testing and discovering their effectiveness, it was discovered that the hedge row cutters gave a 90% solution for 10% cost and no moving parts. Either way, I agree, it would be nice to have, perhaps as a researchable modification to add to any of the later Shermans.

Every year it is available since they started the yearly maus grind and all you need is a rank 5 vehicle researched and then you just need to put 1 point in the maus and it stays open to grind forever.

Yes its amazing against tanks at its BR you just need to ambush enemy tanks from the side or behind when they have no clue you are there and even when you are heads up you can do some pretty good damage to them once you get the final ammo type.

You can use GE to research the mods in the event vehicles but you can't research an actual event vehicle unless you mean squadron vehicles. What Gaijin has going on right now is event vehicles you get from building parts and need to play the game to get the parts there is no way to use convertible RP to get something you don't own and there are no research points in the event vehicle only mods to research once you get the event vehicle.
