She covered herself in her friends blood, took the risk of going to get her dead teachers phone, called 911… and police took a lifetime to save her. I’m absolutely sick about what she and other children endured. In every interview where a brave child speaks out, there is a light gone from their eyes. It’s been replaced with fear, anxiety, PTSD, and shock. Unarmed teachers tried their hardest to protect the children… armed, trained police officers allowed these innocent children to suffer in terror. There is no excuse for this!!!!!!
The anxiety this girl is facing is heart wrenching. I hope she and the rest of the victims families receive the help and justice they deserve ! Praying for you baby girl 🥺❤️
I am 60 and could never ever show this stength..putting the blood on herself,going to a dead teacher to find phone, and staying quiet..and calling 911-this is beyond stength...this is super human...this monster totally took her childhood and innocence...that interviwer saying why do you not feel safe in school...oh my lord buddy..get a different career your a idiot -big time..prayers to the family on their journey to recovery..

Anderson Cooper should do the interviewing. He's very sensitive. I saw him interviewing a father and he was letting the man talk, occasionally asking a question. When the man became overcome, Anderson touched his arm like, 'I'm here, I got you.' He also cried. You have to be sensitive and empathetic to talk to these poor people.
Completely agree! And sadly now there will be a generation of kids who don’t trust in law enforcement or feel safe anymore in their presence. I was in Uvalde a few days ago eating at a Mexican restaurant there. A group of armed police officers walked in and the room just went silent. It was an eery feeling.

Now the cowards (police) are making all sorts of excuses as to why they didn’t enter the classroom sooner. They can’t even stick to one story. They all need to have their badges taken away. They just proved how useless they are. Don’t know about you, but I’ve already briefed my 7 year old daughter and I told her that police can’t be trusted, and if God forbid there is ever an active shooter at her school (since it’s so common now) to NOT call the cops because they won’t help. Poor little girl. It is unfathomable that she had to endure something like this. Law enforcement there let her and all of those kids down by leaving them in there for over an hour.
Not really. Seeing as it was still a good guy with a gun(off duty border patrol) who ultimately ended the mess. It was left to the state, and the state sat for an hour, encouraging even more killing of the defenseless. Imagine if we were all as helpless as those kids.
What I do not understand is that one of the responding officers daughter was killed but he didn’t know that was his daughters classroom when he was standing outside of it? I’m not blaming anyone for anything, only the shooter as of now. But I’m genuinely curious why he hasn’t said what his role was that day because he has spoken out several time and even said he was a Uvalde cop but fails to mention he was one of the responding officers!!??? 🤷🏼♀️

She is incredibly intelligent and fast thinking. What she did to save her own life, it’s not something you can even imagine. And the police inside the building let her suffer in fear. 😰

I am disturbed to see these children interviewed, frankly. Most of us can not remotely understand the trauma they've been through... what they've seen. They have not been able to process it and likely will not be able to for years. They need support - not cameras in their faces.
This is reality for kids their age. It is important to hear what they experienced so other kids don’t go through this. This all is being done for a greater purpose if those who survived mass shootings didn’t speak out then it would be no push for law makers to make changes. I’m sure these kids are surrounded by support and just want their side out about what happened. Talking about trauma is a form of therapy as well. Some of the kids wanted to talk to the press themselves too.

What are you talking about she probably already is tryna get with her parents, just because she’s speaking out doesn’t mean she’s not tryna get help. She has the right to say no and her parents do too but they both obviously agreed to it and she wants to let the world to know the truth instead of the pigs speaking on it and tryna hide what the truth is . No one knows why really happened but them.
? What makes you think she isnt in therapy? And I daresay speaking out on this subject so other kids dont get hurt could be a very therapeutic experience

Kind of wish her privacy could have been preserved and have someone speak on her behalf. I can see why though they are sharing this, they want you to know this is our reality and it’s affecting everyone.. Great testimony on the fathers part. His daughter and himself had a lot of strength to come out and speak up.
We're are on the same cycle, we hear testimonies for weeks and then nothing is ever done! There has to be a solution!!!! Other countries do not go through this madness!

The people are saying “they don’t even cry they are so strong” no it’s not that they don’t cry is that they’re so little to process all that they seen at such a young age if us as adults get traumatized over smaller and non life threatening situations now them that are just 10yrs old and witnessing what they witness. I pray that god heals their little hearts and they are able to live in peace.
Guns aren't the problem. People who abuse them are...research gun restricted zones/cities in every state and you will quickly see that those are the highest-ranking gun violence areas. You can't legislate morality.

It should be public record. I feel any elected congressman or Senator who has accepted campaign contributions for our failed gun policy on assault weapons should be held both criminally and financially liable to the families of victims for they are complicit in aiding in a conspiracy to provide the weapons to commit murder. Also it should be put to a nation public referendum vote for the senate and congress should not be self governing on such an issue.
No child , teacher or parent should go through this pain.. why do we live in US if it is considered nbr 1 country in the world and we can ‘t even protect our kids in schools? We need a change !
I'm confused why anyone would have traumatized children like this publicly re-traumatized? You'd think their identities would be private while they were undergoing therapy for the trauma they experienced... not paraded around the news talking to a camera only days after the event

I am sure he spoke with her and her parents before he told the camera guy to start filming. Based on what she told him, he was asking her questions to get her to repeat what she had said to him earlier. That is how tv interviews usually go, especially with children. Evan adults will forget what they want to say in front of the camera. Some of the parents have said that their kids want to talk publicly about what they experienced, saying that it helps them feel better.

We were just watching a movie when she (the teacher) got an email, she went to lock the door and made eye contact with [the shooter] who was in the hallway; the teacher retuned and told us to hide; we hid behind the teachers desk and behind backpacks. He shot the small window then went into the other classroom; he entered our classroom through a different door which connected the other classroom and ours. He shot the teacher, saying "goodnight then shot her in the head. He shot some of my classmates then shot the whiteboard. When I went to the backpacks he shot my friend who was next to me to my left. I thought hed come back so I grabbed blood and put it all over me. - Interviewer: What did you do next? I just stayed quiet, grabbed my teachers phone and called 911. - Interviewer: What did you tell 911? I told them we needed help, to send the police to our classroom..
So her classroom door was locked by her teacher but the gunman went through the other classroom door which is unlocked? I don't understand why didn't the other teacher lock the door after hearing gunshots.
@@jamisonz3365 not sure if this is true or not but I read somewhere the classrooms could only be locked from the outside hallway and not from inside the class. The school in the area I grew up near Dallas were like this. A fatal flaw but I remember we would have “code blue” drills in elementary school which was basically an active shooter drill, they told as it was in case there’s ever an unknown person on campus. They would shut the lights off get away from the view of the windows and hide, but one thing I remembered it they would have a teachers in the hall volunteer to quickly run around to all the rooms and lock them from the outside.
Children who are now traumatized and we are experiencing vicarious victimization. Elected officials are hired for a job. If they are not making laws to protect us they need to find other work.
Beautiful sweet angel these politicians have failed you. We now know she is one of the ones that was calling for the worthless police to come in and save them. I pray that she heals but unless these spineless politicians make important changes she will forever be living a life of fear.

The police were there with guns and vest as well as being trained and still didnt do anything. How do you expect an underpaid and undertrained teacher would react? You also know what would have prevent this? Gun laws that prevent 18year olds from being able to purchase these types of weapons.

Besides this solution isn't preventing/stopping shootings, it's just a possible reaction to shootings, it's not going to solve anything. Her mother says she can’t sleep, reacts negatively to the sounds of cellphones ringing and even was “set off” by a vacuum at a car wash. Oh, and she’s also losing hair. This is what you would figuratively call breaking a human being, and it takes a long time for them to repair from it. No child should ever suffer like this for the rest of their life.
I wish i didn’t have to see that stare on this poor child’s face, the recalling of things one should never go through. I pray she has good therapists and can live a full life.
They have every right not to feel safe at school besides home that's one place they are supposed to feel safe at and be safe at and their not safe their especially after this. They can rebuild that school and even put it in a different place but it's not going to erase what happened me as a parent of 3 children I don't see them ever feeling safe at school again not after what they just went through everyone of y'all are in my thoughts and prayers and I'm so very sorry and heartbroken over what has happened to you and your families and your children and the whole community no one should have to go through this I do think it's wonderful that their going to build them a new school in a different location tho
