Mic’d up Exhaust | Triumph Bonneville | Rambling around Charleston, SC

Join me on a ride through the streets of Charleston, South Carolina on my Triumph Bonneville motorcycle. I mic’d up my British Customs Predator Exhaust with a Zoom H1N. It was filmed on a DJI Osmo Action in September 2022. Recording motorcycle audio is quite tricky, and I am always trying new methods to make my videos sound better. So put it on in the background, help your kid fall asleep, annoy your wife - whatever suits your fancy.
And yes, my mirror fell off during my trip and I taped a few blind spot mirrors and a tire-pressure gauge together to create a Macgyver’d mirror - which worked surprisingly well for 1,500 miles.

Well heck yeah. Love the video. Watched your amazing Last Ride and had to come see you ride thru my old college city. Wish I rode a motorcycle back then but plan on riding my new one that way soon. Thanks for the flash back. 🏍️💨

I took my bike to Charleston before covid. Stayed in an airbnb on Wadmala Island. Got some tme riding under the live oaks spanning across the very straight roads. Greaty city, I love the historic buidings.

Nice ride! The video from 6:09 depicts White Point Garden, which is where the pirate Stede Bonnett (the "Gentleman Pirate" was hanged in 1718). The road you're on was used in the movie "The Patriot," much to the protest of the yankee owners of the houses on the left who were utterly against the idea of "their" street being covered in sand to depict a 1775 Charles Town. Where you made a left at the end shows the harbor where Blackbeard held the town at ransom until he received medical supplies for his ailing, wayward sailors.

Is it still relevant to buy a used triumph bonneville 865 today? Or should I go for the new 900cc Bonneville range?

I have a 2011 Bonneville SE with the 865cc motor, and a 2021 speed twin 900. I much prefer the older air-cooled 865 Engine. The 900 to me sounds and feels more like a numb Japanese parallel twin without much character or soul, and the Radiator kinda ruins the clean look of the older bike. You really notice the difference when you ride them back to back.
