The Shure MV88 external mic is compared to the internal mic on the iPhone 14 Pro. In this comparison, there are 30-second clips of four songs, and the microphone is indicated near the upper left. For the first three clips (0:00-1:30), the MV88 was attached to an iPhone 11 Pro so that both mics could record at the same time. For the fourth clip, the MV88 was attached to the iPhone 14 Pro. The video was shot on the iPhone 14 Pro, and the music was by HOT MESS.
NOTE: Currently, Shure is working out some bugs in its app when used with iOS 16. Shure warns that some functionality may be lost, and it is working on a fix. This app issue should not have affected this comparison because the microphone settings are saved on the mic, not on the app, and those settings were set with iOS 15.
