@@Thinks-First The fact to me that law enforcement is present as witnesses's is problematic in my opinion. They of course automatically process the evidence collected in their own mind and formulate an opinion long before the commencement of this trial. It is to the defense's detriment that as witnesses's they have already viewed the vast majority of evidence collected in this case. Any rational human will process these facts and formulate their own opinion and to say they won't is just not enough.
I KIND OF LAUGH WHEN THE DEFENSE ATTORNEY ASKS THE WOMAN IF SHE HAD SEEN THE SHOOTERS SHIRT WAS TORN IN THE FRONT, AND HER REPLY WAS NO I WAS LOOKING AT THE MAN ON THE FLOOR DYING, THE ATTORNEY JUST STARED AT HER FOR A WHILE AND CONTINUED.
Damn...so the man was fighting over a parking spot that wasn't even truly handicapped, after he himself isn't properly parked?! That's some bull! This is why you don't go around trying to pick fights with ppl bc even if you think you "won" the fight, you killing a human being is a permanent mistake you'll never rectify. He wanted to be a cop so bad he went around policing ppl and quick to draw his gun without assessing the situation to minimize injury. So irresponsible. And incredibly cruel to leave four children without a father, with one five yr old seeing his dad die in front of him. Nobody knows a strangers story. That's why we don't go around shooting ppl nor escalating the chance of bad things happening by picking fights.
Then you have the fact that before the trial started MD was named as a person who had threatened people with a gun 4 other times, 2 men, 2 women, 1 woman with kids in her car.
Did those people physically assault him , too? Then they should be thankful they are alive. People need to keep their hands to themselves or else you could end up dead.
@@tinawindham6958have you seen a video of the shooting of a man whose wife parked in someone else parking to drop him off. The man didn't even touch the shooter.
20:00 pro tip for trial lawyers. The prosecutor didn’t really get any juicy facts out of this witness. But defense counsel did, FOR THE STATE. He asked her open ended questions which resulted in her blurting out that the defendant was “intimidating”, and then defense counsel got into an argument with her about it. Perfect example of why when cross examining you only ask leading questions for which you can prove the answer of responses contrary to your expectation.
any man that hears his wife being yelled at is going to go and protect her. this guy drejka should be named mr. kravitz and he needs to get a life and leave people alone.
He needs to go to prison and not only be taken out of society for recklessly and with disregard completely for human life just creating situations so he can use his gd firearm.. but also as gd punishment for the life he took like it was nothing to him.
Agree, just watching his demeanor here you can see he's full of his own entitled self importance. He wants to be a big man and that gun gave him fake feelings of it gave him ability to do as he pleased. No normal thinking person that had a conceal carry would hand mentioned having a gun not used it as a threat or pull it to fire over something this ridiculous. I think drecka of however it's spelled was a geek all his life and was bullied and that's why he is the way he is now. Picking fights over minor details with women instead of a man and when a real man protected his woman and children he couldn't handle it. He couldn't be a real man and walk away and let it go. I know my husband would have reacted the same way the victim did and I find no fault in what he did.
Lol oh he's had the thought that conceal carry also handed him the ability to play cop, lawyer judge, jury and executioner. He learned quickly his self entitled card got shredded in less than a second. He's the dangerous kind people need be afraid of. Those that think they can do as they please because they are offended don't care of what others think, it'd all about them. He had to have been bullied as a child and had to go through steps to feel better than he really is. His behavior in court screams pompous and he's above the laws we are supposed to abide with. His behavior says he felt he would be found innocent , thinking he's a blue collar white man and the victim was a black thug . he belongs in jail for life.
Whenever the defense attorney was arguing with Vicki over what she meant by “babbling”, she should’ve said “yes babbling, like what you’re doing right now”
Witness: " I saw him on the ground and he looked like he was DYING............" - horrifying description, then she follows that up with an adjective of the shooter : " he was quiet ,almost PROUD of himself ." Two words only ,but wow , powerful.
I think the lesser charge had more to do with the fact that he wasn't the one that escalated it to a physical level and less to do with the legitimacy of the parking spot. You put him on trial for murder he might walk. Put him on there for manslaughter, get him in the Pen till he's in his 60s, and with his prior road raging and other incidents he'll likely be there for the full 20 years.
32:50 So a guy lost his life over a squabble over a handicapped space AND a space that wasn't even "'legal," no less.....
5 лет назад
He was still parking at a disabled place. Plus, I agree that this Drejka is a moron but I don't know what I would have done if I see a muscular black man trying to attack me.
Bence Illes well.. of course you would panic and overreact by shooting or stabbing him because they are just so much more dangerous than unemployed fat middle aged white guys with concealed weapons permits who run around looking for people breaking the rules so they can play cops and robbers like Barney fyffe. You should get in touch with George Zimmerman. He can help you out with “what to do”.
This was senseless, nothing short of a self entitled, pumped up egomaniac that thinks he can play cop, lawyer, judge, jury and executioner. Having a conceal carry congress with full understanding of its legal use not to be used as a tool to injure or kill because someone wasn't respecting your opinion. It's heart-wrenching to know this family, his child watched his life be taken over something as stupid as a parking lot infraction. If this man felt this was such a serious issue he should have called the cops of just gotten the tag and car model to turn in. It wouldn't have ever became a verbal altercation in any sense. What transpired after far outweighed both any moral of legal wrongs of this family parking in a handicap spot. It's senseless and tragic and I find a bit of a racial issue and I say this because I feel strongly had that victim been White of an elderly person or younger the physical push wouldn't have been taken as attack unfairly. I think this being a black man of a large stature played a huge part in his the other to his reaction of protecting his woman and his children. The victim in my mind did no wrong and acted as any father or husband would if he felt his family was being attacked or harassed. Shooting a man add he is walking away or putting distance is wrong. This was nothing but murder. the big deal the defense of trying to make over the victims car being moved is ridiculous. The victims have owned they parked illegally and moved the car and neither have any impact on the subject of the man being shot over the parking. To me that is a lot sad attempt, desperate tactics to draw minds away from the subject.
Markeis was unnecessarily aggressive in shoving Drejka to the ground. I think Drejka was terrified and I think he panicked and shot without consideration, but he’s too proud to admit that. In his mind he’s a law enforcer; he can’t admit to anyone (even himself) that he was just a scared little man sprawled on the ground.
Lets pray he is sentenced to a very ling time. The mother of these children Needs to take this to civil court and sue him to get college funds paid for all 4 of her children. If he ever gets out if jail every time he looks at his garnished paycheck, mothers inheritance, eyc he will remember the man's life he took over a parking spot.
@@BellaFleurElise ....there is never a reason to kill an unarmed man especially in board day light when you can see his hands! You can not start a fight, be the agreesor in this day and time by threatening a woman and her children and then on top of it kill her "man" just because he pushes you down! Her "man" was supposed to defend her and his babies. Marquis didn't punch the guy he pushed him down. A real man would have realized he was in the wrong and gotten up and back in his car and went home. The mother didn't turn him into a killer but his Igo did. When you are armed you have no business being the aggressor in any situation. He had no business accosting this woman over a parking space. Your excuses are what's wrong with the world today.
This poor lady was just trying to buy some wine and get home to Netflix and chilllllll. What do you guys think the chances are that when she got home....she downed the whole bottle 🤣🤷🏻♀️
The Kitty Channel it doesn’t look to me like she “ drinks” a lot...why do you think it’s looks like she drinks and eats a lot? She looks healthy, her skin looks healthy, she looks nicely put together, I don’t get your comment at all.
I know the attorney is just doing his job but I can't stand the badgering of a witness. She's an innocent bystander who's life got dragged into this not by her own choosing but because she was a good citizen who tried to help a dying man, frantic mother and screaming, terrified children!! Sheesh. Back off
These defense attorneys are asking really stupid questions. The jurors probably made their minds up on day one, because there's no excuse for what Drejka did.
Crazy enough there was one juror ( a gun owner) that actually wanted to acquit but change his mind when they clearly explained to him the law about self defense. There is a lot of ignorance about the law among gun owners. Probably cause they get their information from the most gun enthusiasts who also tend to be the craziest.
Lord, why are so many bad defense attorneys dickheads? Why don't they understand you can make the same points and ask the same questions without being a smartass, without being snarky, without acting smug and superior? How do they not know if they make the jury hate them it's easier for the jury to look at their clients with a jaundiced eye? This guy is despicable, and there is no reason for it.
They all do it, with their new suit and reading glasses even a new hair cut and his sh!tty beard is gone. There's a big difference when he goes back in after being found guilty in his Prison outfit and beard 😂
I see "Mr. Crime Novelist" is back at it. What the HELL was he always writing???.....Maybe "don't send me to prison"??? He appears very arrogant to me. Some lazy, out of work bum with a "gun temper" based on his history, who lets his wife support him while he plays traffic monitor at local stores. Ugh, what a stain.
30:06 What in the world is he writing is what I'd like to ask? sitting there in a suit acting as if he is an attorney or person of importance in that courtroom.
You can babble and still be clear, babbling isn’t an adjective describing quality of words. Someone can be babbling and be speaking clearly. Babbling means speaking randomly, continuously and repeatedly, and without a sense of direction.
46:08 I am surprised nobody asked the Deputy to remove his earpiece, in case he was being fed lines or information. You'd think at least the defence would have noticed.
I can’t stand the defense & the fact they have nothing so they have the audacity to do the best they can to make a deal about petty insignificant things like that’s it’s odd that she moved her car full of her children away from the man who just shot and killed the father her man and so she can see them. What does that prove? Nothing but her concern for her kids. It doesn’t change the fact that her man was shot or anything. I hate lawyers when they are defending someone obviously guilty who isn’t showing any remorse the whole time just sitting their writing in his note book. Maybe if he was sitting their in tears or showing some remorse I can at least see that his sorry but nothing.
the defense attorney with the crazy beard sucks...i really think a great attorney could have maybe gotten Drejka off or a lighter sentence... glad he didn't
This defense lawyer is being selfdefeating. Splitting hairs with an obviously great witness and trying to twist her words. Conveys desperation to the jury. He bad bois
As an elderly woman who is handicapped, I appreciate any help I can get to keep handicapped spaces open, even though the sign isn't perfectly worded. When it's raining every single spot is taken as if everyone suddenly became handicapped. I know handicapped window tags are often stolen because I've had mine stolen already. Most older people are in pain, why would someone steal a spot except that they feel intitled for some reason and make excuses for themselves though it's plain they have no empathy. "I'm just running in for a second" "I was going to move if the spot was needed". A big BS from this great grandma!
Drejka's scared. That's why he busily writing copious narratives/notes/etc. for his attorneys. It also keeps him from having to look up and make eye contact with anyone. He probably thinks he looks really smart and competent to the jury, but he just looks arrogant.
So far the defense is discrediting these eye witnesses. If they would just stick to the truth, what they originally said, it would serve justice. Instead almost without exception they change or "forget" their original statements. It seems they were coached or perhaps just don't want to say anything that might appear to be exculpatory for the defendant. They're trying too hard to help the prosecution not realizing that in doing so a good defense lawyer will expose them to the jury as witnesses who cannot be believed; who cannot be trusted to tell the whole truth.
This is ultimately what happens when people just seem to loose all sense of respect and they just live for the moment. Not Knowing this maybe their last moment alive. This incident didn't have to escalate! The defendant lost, but only because he had a weapon. The deceased threw the first punch, so the defendant pull out the gun. Better if he had just walked away. It could have gone the other way. After knocking him down, the deceased might have had a gun, and shot the defendant too. I would have thought the same thing too! If someone knocks you down, they already have the advantage. I hope people who saw this case will see it's a good lesson learn. To loose your life for nothing! So sad for both the families, a father who did not think enough his children are there watching him fight and get killed! And for what!
And Drejka will be in jail 20 years, get assaulted in jail, have to move jails because of being scared and no longer having his gun to defend himself, get put in 23 hour locked down in protective custody and mentally go crazy because he has no human interaction for 23 hours of the day lmao. Drejka is a coward just like u lmao.
I think he gets off with some minor conviction because the victim put his hands on him first. I believe this "stand your ground" shooter knew the rules and played by them.
That law bothers me. I was being filmed by someone who was harrassing me after I told him repeatedly to leave me alone. I had run into a post with a truck and he was heckling me like hell won't have it. I tried to ignore him, but he wouldn't leave me be. He followed me around harrassing and filming me. After 20 minutes, I finally knocked the phone out of his hand. He then poked me so hard in my eye that he broke my contact lens and I couldn't get to the emergency room for another 2 hours. I had half the lens stuck in my eye for another 6 hours. But I couldn't press charges for assault because I touched his phone even though I came close to being blinded. The only reason that he left was because the gas station attendant screamed at him and said she would call the police if he didn't leave.
If he had not pulled the gun the guy was getting ready to beat the crap out of him or either kill him. He only backed up when he saw the gun. If he had not pushed the guy to the ground he would probably be alive today.
So it is okay to kill unarmed people with your firearm while they back up? (You really should see the video footage of this incident) In the interrogation the defendant clearly stated he didn't felt any danger and entitled to "defend" himself from an unarmed person with a firearm. No remorse, only thinking he was right. I don't say it was right to be pushed to the ground (Danger from a yelling freak shouting at children is obviously not enough), but there IS such a thing as appropiate response. Even in the USA. He killed cause he field entitled to. Not because he was afraid. And he killed him AFTER he backed up and startet to face away from him. IF the victim would have gone after him after he pushed him he wouldn't have had a chance to pull his gun. He was shoved down and after that the victim stood still. Now the danger was over. Stand up and shout, call the police... All viable options. But the defendend reached for his Glock and killed someone for protecting his girlfriend and children. "He would be alive today, if..." Yeah... How about "If he haven't met a person whose only method of defense is shooting people moving away from him."
@@drc512 He threatened to shoot several other people who parked in handy cap spots. It was only a matter of time before he killed someone, weather he was shoved to the ground or not.
32:57 It didn't matter that the handicapped spot was not protected by law, Drejka wasn't trying to be a law enforcement officer as he has so often falsely been accused of being. What mattered is that it was the designated handicapped spot and that it was closest to the ramp. No spot on the lot was protected by law because it was a private lot. Interesting to note that both the prosecution and the judge stated to the jury that Drejka was "illegally" parked when he clearly wasn't.
He was being a fckn Karen. If he had an issue then notify the authorities. Don’t pretend to be just because you carry a firearm. He instigates then proceeds to escalate an argument with a stranger. Defend him all you’d like, but the video evidence is damning. He was shoved to the ground, drew his gun, saw the man stepping back and turn away from him, then discharged the gun anyways. He knew he was being taped. He knew he was just pushed to the ground. He knew there was a strong likelihood that were he to shoot this man he would be justified. What he didn’t do was fire because he felt his life was threatened.
Does either side explain why the victim came out of the store and pushed down the defendant? Did the victim hear the defendant yelling at his girlfriend?
People were walking in the store talking about this idiot in the parking lot and as he was at counter a guy came in and told him he better go take care of the problem he was having outside! And drejka executed a man after confronting his gf and kids .. he’s dangerous unpredictable and impulsive with a conceal carry permit.. should’ve been charged with second degree murder.. he didn’t get a long enough sentence!
22:58 Of course to her he was the louder of the two. He was outside the car facing the store and she was inside the car with her window mostly closed and facing the street.
I don’t agree he shot this guy. However the other guy shouldn’t have pushed him down. It’s such a sad situation... I guess the lesson learned here was “do not park where your not meant to” look how that escalated . Very sad no one wins here 😢
My husband would of done the same if a stranger is coming at my car with me n our kids alone getting yelled at by some strange man yah most men pro would of done the same
Jayleigh Groves wow.. that’s the lesson you learned? I learned that the defendant was a criminal and a murderer and should’ve been charged with second degree murder but was easily convicted of manslaughter! I learned that conceal carry permits are FAR too easy to get and the laws should be changed so idiots like him aren’t lethal to encounter!
