My God… so many memories. I remember discovering this song shortly after arriving to Barcelona, where I live now, twelve years ago. Memories of lonely days, sleepless nights walking through the city, watching the city lights at the distance Bittersweet memories, lots of bittersweet memories brought back by this song.
This is one of the best songs, musically speaking, that Gira ever wrote... I could keep listening to this in my unkempt room, in my unwashed, sweat soaked body lying naked and weeping and laughing and starve for days...
That's what happened to me after I accidentally watched a video here on you tube of a baby monkey tortured to death. But no laughing. Just rage and lots of crying. I couldn't eat or sleep for 2 days, it was that disturbing. And it's right here on you tube, profiting off of animal abuse/ad revenue, here for children and anyone to view. Shame on You Tube
@@stirhaven1981 been a really long time since I was in that head space. I liked the shades of light the popped up in their early 90s stuff. Love will save you is a great song. As far as the new stuff I've heard a little and its the pounding ostinato I expected but that didn't grab me. Thats ok, im happy people are enjoying it. Take care dude.
@@Crimsonphilosophy Cheers! Try the song "its coming its real" from their last album, its soothing and blissful ambient Folk. A stylistic shift you might like.
Now im a servent of god lay wasted on grease and meadow The blue skies rain of chlorine and amonia poured into my eyes with the sun And i travel through space without fear In a body thats now disappearing In (?) in early filthy sphere made by gasoline and rising through the sky See self hatered is a beautiful cancer And i encourage you to feed it And i like to watch you just suffer The love and punishments of god And i travel theough space without a sound My body is an infinite number Dissected by perceptions which are encrouching like oceans infecting under the system, the world 123 123 And our love is a thick red ocean Swollen w lust and fatigue And i encourage you to drink it like i encourage myself to breathe And i travel through space unconcious protected inside your mouth Like an acid vapor suspended above the dry mouth Dissolving like an injection Spilling through the crystal rivers of your veins
It looks like it was only on the 7" of 'Praise your name', which I never knew existed. It sounds familiar, maybe just cos it's Angels, but such a good one this is driving me a bit mad. It's on his 1st solo homemade CD and I'll check manana if it really is just solo. If so, this LP is the only place it seems to get it, unless you pay the creep at discogs £70 for the 45........hate when this shit happens.....
Yeah it seems to be the same version on Solo Home Recordings, but that doesn't go cheap so this Dog LP so far would be the best bet if transistor quality does not suffice. Phew, this Swans oral history book is amazin huh?
