What people today don't understand, what made the bulls so great, is the hunger of the other teams. The Knicks, the Sun's. the Pacers, the Blazers , the Sonics, and of course the Pistons etc... were like rabid dogs. Standing behind the fence growling and salivating for a shot at the title. Malone, Stockton, Miller, Barkley, Drexler, Payton, Ewing, etc. wanted to beat the MJ and the Bulls so bad that they were willing to physically hurt the Bulls to win.

That aura thing is 100% legit. I lived right next door to the Elmhurst College gym from 1992-1997, where MJ held his basketball camps every Summer. I met him multiple times over those years. Got to watch him play pickup games and hold Q&As every year. He had a glow. It's interesting hearing other speak of this as well, as I've been saying it for years. Cool story from the 1992 camp. Jaleel White, who played Steve Urkel on family matters was a camper. He came to the camp just to be a kid. I had heard stories of how he hated being called "Urkel" by people. So I am hanging out in one of the sessions, MJ is on one side of the gym and Jaleel is on the other side. All the sudden you hear MJ shout, "HEY URKEL!!! URKEL!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOIN' DOWN THERE!?!?!" and Jaleel just beamed the biggest smile. If any man was allowed to call him Urkel, it was MJ. Jaleel was super sweet and bought all the campers gifts.

I have to say the same thing as Iverson. I was 13 years old in 1991 and it was in October. The Bulls came to Knoxville, TN to play the Washington Bullets in a exhibition game during preseason. This was during my peak 5 years of sports in school and I worshipped MJ as most people did and still do. My step-dad got my mom the tickets to take me and my brother. I'm so very thankful for him but that's another story. He hustled up the tickets and we went and several kids in my school were going and if you weren't one of them then you were nothing but if you were then you were very popular. But when the Bulls came out on the court and I saw him and Scottie it was like he said they didn't look real and were glowing. I felt like I was in a dream. I did the same thing when I went to my first Braves game I felt like I was dreaming and when I went to my first Titans game I felt like I was dreaming. But nobody was glowing only MJ was glowing!!

My teammate in college, Shawnta “Nut” Rogers, grew up in the same neighborhood as Mugsy, west side of Baltimore. Mugsy used to ball with us and come to games. He’s impossible to post up. You can’t move him, same with Nut, leverage wise they never lose it. Nut is only 1 inch taller than Mugsy. Watching them play one on one was insane. They would do post moves only because facing up on each other they couldn’t get by one another, both strong as phuk and quick hands. Got to see MJ with the Bulls a bunch of times and a few times with the Wizards. AI in person is ridiculous too. Barely 6’1” on a good day, looooooong arms, his so fast with the ball and can jump 🤣🤣🤣🤣 his high school highlights are ridiculous, like Chris Jackson nka Mahmoud Abdul Rouf.
