The White House Correspondents' Association even got mad at her and it was wonderful! Still the best dinner set by far.
In an age where this administration slandered, bullied and gaslit an entire nation and called them sensitive, they sure couldn’t take what they dished out. Not all jokes hit the mark, but plenty of them made me laugh out loud. She slaughtered everyone, left and right, literally. Great work! Her stand up is funny too!

Don’t underestimate the audience, I don’t think they’re stupid. Most fully understood what they were hearing and it was confronting to be called out so publicly. The laughter only peters out as each group is progressively addressed, the executive, their spokespeople & advisors & the media. Michelle took no prisoners here

I heard laughter when she made fun of of both sides maybe not completely evenly but as a mostly conservative I appreciated it. She was as great as you could be when the room was mostly split on politics

I'm watching this in 2021 and it's amazing to me how receiving jokes has changed. She is hilarious, and yet, alot of those people their don't know how to just let go and have a laugh. That takes SUCH BIG BALLS to be up there, so bravo!!
The savagery of a roast is directly proportional to how true the screwed up things the comedian jokes about are. If this sounded brutal, mean-spirited, or over the top, just remember she basically went up there for 20 minutes and just restated facts.
