This was a great college football game, the kind of game you do not see in college anymore, physical smash mouth tough football. This game was just as exciting and intense as any 45-40 game that you see today in major college football. Just my opinion God Bless
This was a very, very hard fought game by two of the all time greatest football programs in college football history. Michael Taylor definitely hurt Michigan's chance to win. The ND played great but you can see the Wolverines offensive line start to begin to impose its will on the Irish defense. Vitale, Dingman, and Skrepenak were definitely powerful and dominant in this game. However with no pass offense for Michigan it was an uphill battle.
@@christophernash1846 I have to say I don't think Taylor was a solid Division 1 QB. I don't think he did much to threaten defense's. He was an erratic passer with an average arm and he wasn't particularly good at running the option. The wolverines offense during Bo's final few seasons was Hoard, Bunch and Boles. The offensive line was so big and talented they beat most teams but if they had a guy like Grbac or Collins during those years I don't know if they would have been stopped.
@@coachjmiii5228 the main reason for 1988 was special teams . Missed 2 easy kicks and Miami . At Notre Dame , the special teams gave up a touchdown Actually the same could be said about 1989 .
@@christophernash1846 Reggie Ho beats the Wolverines in 88, along with a tremendous punt return from Ricky Watters. Rocket in the Big House took 2 kickoff returns to the house in 89. Uncharacteristic of Schembechler teams but the returns were given up to 2 great players. I think if Michigan could have thrown the ball in either game they would have beaten ND
