The RMT union's Mick Lynch joins Nick Ferrari to reflect on one year of rail strikes:
00:00 “I’ve been losing money in the strike, how much have you lost?”
00:47 “Are you losing the country’s support?”
02:53 “What’s the point doing anything with this government when they’re a lame duck government?”
04:18 “Do you think if all the unions got together you would have a better chance?”
06:08 “What about a national strike?”
07:11 “Are your members skivers?”
08:04 “Are you going to Glastonbury?”

@@JustinTimeEnglishClip well I don’t know maybe….. 1. unions can come together and form a new political party that at the core wants to bring structural changes to society so that all citizens are afforded the VERY BASICS of human survival for free. 2. Create the frameworks and social contract for the individual to contribute back into society knowing that they have a foundation that they will not starve, freeze or lose shelter. 3. Have a simpler progressive tax system. Right now all we have interest groups pushing for their own group and it goes nowhere addressing the issues on a societal level
@JustinTimeEnglishClip
@JustinTimeEnglishClip 11 месяцев назад
@@lilscottieme Thanks for replying. With respect, I understand your feeling. I really believe that you are describing the Labour Party with unions working together to overcome social injustice. That is the motive of both those groups. They have spent decades in this cause, they already have considerable power to change things for the better, A new party would detract from them both. If you look back in history, you will see that poorer people always managed better under Labour government and that unions have played a massive part in helping people avoid poverty.

@@johnowen1677 I completely agree. And what exactly are they trying to conserve and protect these days? Not the environment. Not quality of life. Not civil rights. Their own necks, and the interests of foreign capital from where I'm standing. They are conservative by name only. Neo-liberalism should be called out for exactly what it is. Neo-feudalism, and the conservation of a plutocratic system that doesn't represent the majority of this country.

The Great in Britain is merely a geographical term for the biggest island in the British Isles. It's Great Britain as opposed to Little Britain, which is the translation of Irish for Wales. And then there are all the other islands in the British Isles, including the island of Ireland or Éire. So when you say Great Britain, it's simply the name for the biggest (Great) island, comprising Scotland, Wales, and little post imperialist England.😂

@jamesarnold7253not strictly true it’s because Brittany , means little Britain so to differentiate the two the large island was given the moniker Great Britain . This historical meaning has been almost forgotten.

The reason he comes across so well is he not just knows about whats happening right now and backs it up with facts and figures, he also knows whats gone on before hand and the struggles people went through to get some of what we have now, proven by his rye smile about the Hungarian revolution, he knew exactly what that caller was on about. Can't imagine Cruella, Gullis or Mad Nads having a clue what she was on about.
