That brought me to tears. My 7 year old son is called Mickey. Whenever I wanna quit life, when things get tough, I'm gonna hear those words because he loves me, and I'm going to do better for him.
My grandfather passed away 2 years ago and I remember watching this scene with him when I was a kid and he told me that Mickey looked like his father. Every time I see this scene it brings tears to my eyes and remember the good memories I had with him. Miss him every day. He was the only father I ever had.
My grandfather passed away in 2020. He loved watching the Rocky movies with me. I understand how you feel. The memories keep him alive in my heart and the fact that I know I'll see him again.
I guess the message here is to let Rocky know that no matter how many fights he loses at the end of the day he needs to be a fighting champion who never gives up who always has the last fight in him
That pointing thumb mannerism reminds me so much of my late and beloved grandfather, and it tears me apart always, when I watch this truly masterpiece of acting. Very touching and so transparent.
Wow Burgess Meredith is a FANTASTIC actor he’s always good at playing your emotions this scene although yes I wasn’t alive when his career took off or even 1990 when he passed he’s always held a place in my heart for tackling life you gotta be strong and push on giving up never gets you anything or anywhere….. Sad scene probably of the whole franchise to me always makes me cry I’m a grown man and man this reminds me of good times with my Dad and Rocky wish he had more time to spend with myself and the rest of my family….. Always makes me sad in a way knowing it seems like he doesn’t want to 😢
This movie use to be my least fav growing up but rewatching this movie years later as an adult and former competitive athlete in wrestling and mma ,,, man this movie is my fav of the others
Of so many inspiring films, this scene has to be the best. Mickeys honesty is so powerful and accurate. " nature is smarter then people think" Thank you Burgess.
I only wish I had a Mickey in my life .When I was younger. My life would have been totally different! 😢..Gus D'Amato told this to Mike Tyson! Just before he passed away 😢 😢
With Wrestlemania in Philly this year where this movie took place, imagine with AI/modern technology that WWE could re-enact this scene with Cody and Dusty
RIP to the Rocky actors that passed away, Burgess Meredith, Burt Young, Stallone’s Son, Tony Burton, Tommy Morrison and finally last but not least, Carl Weathers😔
This scene was soo well written. We just don't see writing and acting at this level anymore. Quite sad really but always appreciated otherwise we would have nouthing to compare it too.
Grazie infinite per la gradita condivisione io sono solidale caratterialmente dalla parte della generazione che è cresciuta vedendo la saga fino a Rochy 5
My father and I were the first in line at the old and now abandoned Southbridge Mass theater when it opened. For a long time I thought this Rocky movie was not on par with the previous 4. But after having children of my own I have found a new appreciation for this movie. It’s actually good in a lot of ways.
This is why Mike loved cus d Amato like a dad because cus used to talk to mike like that ...father figure mentor and friend...if he woulda said "GET UP U SON OF A B@#!T CUZ DADDY LOVES YOU...i woulda been an emotional mess!!!!
@@char-lee212Everyone knows it’s taken from Cus D’Amato. Doesn’t make the scene worse because of that revelation, in fact it makes it better, it was an inspired choice on the part of Stallone to replicate it on film and it worked beautifully. Rocky V is a rocky journey that often teeters on the edge of being just bad, but great scenes like this make it still worth watching at least once.
@@horrorfanandy4647 No, I'm sure not "everyone" knows it. Basically the whole movie was inspired in a way by Mike Tyson. Even Stallone himself regrets making this film. I love the Rocky saga but it was kind of corny for him to steal from D'Amato and not be original being an amazing mind for movies. But, I enjoyed the film myself. No hard feelings
It’s sets each person to only be temporary in the grand scheme of life as a whole. In others words nothing or no one lasts forever and rocky essentially prolonged mickys life cause he gave Micky one last person worth living for just a little longer
What is this masterpiece of a scene doing in this movie? Well, it almost redeems the whole thing +++ So poignant The relationship between Rocky and Mickey is absolutely magical Goosebumps
I love this scene…by the time I got to this point of the movie it was my favorite in the series…then I finished the movie and it’s easily my least favorite
It's really hard for me to always watch this video and not cry, because it reminds me of my dad, he was and will be the only one who supported me in practicing martial arts while the rest of my family only made fun of my humble dream of being . a martial artist, I would have liked to hug him more and talk to him a lot more, he was my best friend, and I miss him a lot, how it hurts me to know that I will not see him again, it hurts a lot, I never thought it would hurt so much to lose a loved one, It is the most immense pain I have felt in my life...hug your parents a lot, it really hurts a lot, I hope you share a lot with them and have a long and healthy life, I would give my life for his, to see him new...
