Microgo M5 Electric Scooter for Adults Demo and Review Long Range Fast Affordable
This is an excellent affordable electric scooter for adults with a really long range, dual braking system, bright headlights, Blue LED effect lights, pretty fast with a max speed of around 18 mph, great display, rubber tires, and really all the features you would want in an electric scooter. This video contains shots from every angle of the scooter and demo footage of me riding it around and folding it up. Definitely a scooter I would recommend.

Thanks for the detailed review! I understand if its late, but do you know if cruise control can be disabled? I heard it's a bit scary when it kicks-in because its tough to know when it does. This can take a beginner by surprise and cause a very serious accident.

I do not see that there is anyway to disable it. On the other hand, it doesn't seem to kick in easily. I also have a ninebot scooter and the cruise control on that kicks in quite frequently and it is true that especially in the beginning it can be a bit scary because you let off on the accelerator thinking it's going to slow down and it doesn't, but I have found on the Microgo it does not kick in very often (even when I want it to). On the other hand, it's really just about practicing to get used to it - once you get used to cruise control and are aware of it, it's not a big deal because any touch of the brake or acceleration immediately disengages it. Just have to practice with it and get comfortable before taking it out on the town or something.

I don't know - I would contact Aovostore directly - they should be able to sell a replacement charger.

Hi Cristian - that came with the scooter. I didn't add anything onto it myself - everything is exactly as it came in the box.

Great review, I see you put a lot of time and effort into it. I have a question though, is there a way to disable the lights on the side but keep the front and back lights on or do they just all go on or off together. Another question is whether you can make the handle bar go up and down according to your size. Thank you.

They go on/off together - no control to disable the side lights unless you are mechanical enough to disconnect them without breaking the circuit. And no the handle bar is a set height which seems to be the way most I've seen are, though it would make sense to make that adjustable - would be able to have a more comfortable ride for riders of different heights!

@@vicro124 Not that I could tell. However, after using it a lot more, it almost never triggers - you have to be going the same consistent speed with no variation for a good while. I have another scooter that it activates quite quick and in some cases can be annoying (even dangerous) so I do turn it off on that one. On the Microgo it hasn't really been an issue.

Hey, I just got mine in white. Unfortunately seller forgot to put in the Right handle bar 🤦‍♂️ therefore I need to wait a few days for him to send me it separately. I have a question though, I assembled it and turned it on at 1:45pm (when I received it) and it showed me 1 bar on the battery indicator. I plugged it in at 2:00pm and charger light was red now it’s green at 7:15pm yet battery indicator still no change still at 1 bar 🤷‍♂️ also when I press accelerator it doesn’t do anything! Still on 0:0 speed when pressed. Also the front LED lights up but the sides do not give light. Now my question : Is that because it hasn’t got the Right handle bar in it? Would that be the difference? And also I noticed that when charger is plugged in, the scooter shuts off (screen goes black and cannot turn on) when unplugged from charger it’s back to normal.

I have no idea if the right handle bar missing would cause an issue like that... But maybe. I guess wait and see what happens after you get the handle bar though that does all seem odd.

I got mine put it together and tried it out today...the opening and closing mechanism is a bit tricky the catch looks different from the video maybe I have a different model...I heard the weight limit is 220 not 260 and some reviews have said it stops and restarts after 20 minutes..someone suggested it overheats and someone said you could push the button 6 times to restart it

Maybe they improved the latch? That's the one complaint I have about mine - it's hard sometimes to get it to latch/unlatch. I haven't had any issues with starting/stopping after time.

I don't really have any suggestions on that. I mean, I tried it to make sure it worked on mine and it did, but it's not honestly a feature I need or have actually used that much myself.

I don't have any specific tips. Mine did once seem to do that - it's like it wouldn't start up. But then 3 days later I tried again and it started fine and has been fine ever since.

Mine didn't click all the way into place (like it did when folded), but it was enough over the edge to lock into place and it wasn't coming out with me wanting it to. Then as I road it it actually moved a little further into the groove.

Yeah! Once you do click it! DON'T EVER bring it down again!! Mine is the same way! I never half it up/bring it down! It took me about 12 tryes to get it back to the way I baught it. And I scratched up the bottom badly doing it! Never wear rings or gloves when riding this scooter! TRUST ME!!

It's on the front right side of the base/battery. It's small and not noticeable unless you're looking for it.

How to activate the lock, if I would like to leave the scoter in front of the store?

I don't think this has that kind of lock. Besides, even when I used a scooter that did, I didn't trust that - too easy for someone to just pick it up and carry it off if they wanted... I always have an actual chain/lock that I use if I am going to leave it outside to go into a store/restaurant.

So far as I know, there's no way to turn it on/off - it's just always on with mine. As soon as I turn it on, the Bluetooth symbol is flashing looking to connect to a phone.

What is the range if using at full speed the whole time? I assume 20 miles will be on the lowest speed setting.

Yes, the mileage claimed is always under "ideal circumstances" - mileage will also be affected by the weight of the rider and any inclines on the route. I have not used it at a full speed or measured in any way to really be able to give you a solid answer on this. I would guesstimate at max speed on a level surface you'd probably see a 25-30% drop in mileage - but that is a total guess.

Hi My M5 is turning off while im driving uphill, but my Battery is still fully charged. If you let the scooter rest for 30 minutes, it turns on again. what is the problem and how can iI fix it, have you any instruction? Best regards Michele

I have no idea - I haven't encountered that issue, but then where I live is mostly flat with only an occasional very low grade hill. If the hill is too steep and depending on total rider weight it may just be too much for the motor? But I don't know for sure - I'd reach out to their customer support for assistance.

I've only used it up moderate grade hills a couple of times and I weigh around 155 lbs, but it performed like a champ for me.

Yes, definitely.... unless you have an extra $300 or so, meaning if you have $700ish to spend on a Ninebot Model, then I'd go for that. But if you want to keep your total around $400, to me you can't beat this scooter for the price. It doesn't have some of the fancier features of the Ninebot, but for what you mainly want to do which is ride it around and have top speed and a reasonable battery, it's great in my opinion.

Oh, forgot to say, no, it does not have the security lock feature in the app, but in my opinion that is overrated. We also have a Ninebot scooter that has that feature, but when we go places, we don't trust that so we use a chain/padlock.

@@albertgein3082 Yeah, the max weight on this one being 260ish wouldn't do. The UrberScoot is definitely a more robust scooter. I don't have any personal experience with it or with a gas powered scooter so I can't really give an opinion, but it looks decent.

That's personal! JK I can't speak to range because I haven't pushed it that far. I've only ever gone 7-10 miles at a time so far and always charge it up. I weigh around 150 lbs.

After you maxed out 2 bars out of 4 bars= you have to go back unless you plan on charging your scooter at your destination! I went out about 10 miles before i lost my second bar so it = about 20 miles all together these scooters ARE AMAZING!!

Not really - only front. But overall it's a pretty good ride. I haven't found a scooter yet that you don't feel bumps at all - they are scooters after all! :-)

I don't think so... I haven't tried. BUT I will say that cruise control is not aggressive. Meaning on my ninebot e-scooter, it goes into cruise control WAY too easily and often when I don't want it to. With this one you have to be going the specific speed a good amount of time before it kicks in, so I find that it doesn't really kick in often for me because on sidewalks and stuff you're never going the same speed for that long.

The official rated top speed is 19mph. But my actual top speed is just under that at around 18.5mph.

Use a bike chain. It doesn't "lock" via the app and I never trust those anyway - always best to use a high quality chain.

Threw the back wheel!! Use a cromoly (U) shaped ten speed/mountain bike circle key LOCK Like mine!! 1 inch thick cromoly unpickable lock.

hmmm... you can try on/off. charging/unplugging. There's no real secret method - the bluetooth generally should work. I did have one time where it wouldn't connect like that but it seemed to be a glitch that fixed itself after another charging session.

Yes. That one has a max speed of about 12 MPH. On this one my max was around 18 MPH and that was with someone weighing around 150lbs AND someone closer to 235. This one also has a longer range, though I haven't pushed the range to the limits to be able to give a real world result.
