I just started watching again today on 10/03/2024, US 7:33 PM here in Montana. I am now drinking a "Dump Truck" - from our local Missoula, MT, Bayern brewery. Bayern is a master German brewery. Dump Truck is an extra pale summer bock. I usually drink Bayern's "Dragon's Breath", a dark hef ale. But in the summer, the Dump Truck is nice. Its nice with a lemon as well. I am not into really hoppy beers, usually. I don't mind Sierra Nevada pale ale. I am not much of a British bitters man either, but I am sure, I am sure, if I was in England tasting about, I would find my favorites. I had an "Old Peculiar" and "Old Speckled Hen" at the Churchill’s Pub in Savannah, Georgia, and now I can't recall if I liked them or not. I like the Scotch Tennet, I had that in Windsor, Canada. I have had the Irish Crean's in Boston. I like that too. I am a man for the stouts and the porters. I like a Guinness also, of course, for those who also like it. Now especially, I like to pair my Guinness with a shot of Fernet-Branca. Jesus! I can see they are chem-trailing the hell out of your skies. Cheers! Now, back to your video. Ah, love the pup at the bar. Yes, I have heard of the many pubs closing down in England and in Ireland. The scamdemic fiasco and the lock downs really, really, hurt. But also perhaps, it's the cell phones and computers that the younger crowd have become less social. Maybe they have shun alcohol as well. So yeah, I have got to cross the pond before all the old beauties are gone. But you are right in your premise to document the pubs before they are gone. Nice music!
massive fan of cask ales-real ales. too bad i live about 5000 miles away. vicariously drinking ales. so thanks! could another definition of a micro pub be it’s emphasis on microbrews?
Yeah micropubs generally always get all their cask (and usually keg) beer from smaller local breweries, however that’s fortunately pretty common with a lot of freehouses now. As long as a pub isn’t tied to one of the big breweries or to a big pub co then there’s a high chance you’ll find good quality, local ales in abundance!
Ha ha, like u I only normally drink in Micros with cask on..defo 1st one was the best. So many boozers have shut in my lifetime..so sad but if doing this can make people go to the pub more it's worth doing...Nice one Paul 👍🍺
Yeah I’ll happily have a decent keg beer if that’s what’s on offer but I’m 99% a cask beer drinker! Cheers, but Paul is one of the good lads I’m with on this trip, I’m Ethan haha

Thanks a lot! I love Newcastle and it’s pubs scene. This definitely won’t be my last video there that’s for sure, I’d like to do another trip visiting the heritage pubs there like Crown Posada and Old George Inn
