I wish this could be used for general support or work requests. That is something sorely missing in teams. The ability to request detailed requests to specific teams or people.
Thanks, Matt. I can already think of a few ways to use this in our team. I hope it gets a bit more sophisticated though; for example, recurrence options for "first Tuesday every month" or "second week in every month" or "first and third Wednesdays every month".
Hi Andrew, there're some new feature supported in the Updates app, including setting up more recurrence option for an update request. I think that will help in your use case.
Thanks Matt. Excellent as always. Interesting app which I have tried a couple of times. Your "first look" gave me some more input and ideas - thanks for that.
Thanks for the video. The big problem I'm having is if I try to complete an update sent to me on my mobile device (iPad in this case), it tells me the link is only supported by the desktop or web app. If this is built for front line employees, you'd think it would work on the mobile app.
Matt, could Updates be used to collaborate on a document? We build a lot of PowerPoint decks and end up with tons of versions all in Outlook. And we loose track of what and who is the current version
@collaboration coach -- HELP - has anyone in your community experienced a glitch in the Updates app that prevents you from adding more than one update template? After creating my first one, the option to manage/add templates was replaced by Request an Update option in the upper left-hand corner. Confusing. Any help to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Matt. That was a nice explanation of Updates. I’m not convinced that this is something that is needed in the format that Microsoft has given us. It seems like it’s going to be adding a lot of extraneous chaff if not thought out properly. I predict in 6 months from now this will be anther “Planner” or worse. I also feel that using the “Forms” templates Microsoft is telling us where Updates is meant to be considered in its family of mini-apps. It’s an add on to Forms.
@@CollaborationCoach that makes sense. As long as IT isn’t expected to be the curator’s. But I have my doubts and am wondering if something like this “generic” template-y app add on is a solution in search of a problem.
