It's the smallest most compact stabbing stick similar in function to the Benchmade SOCP dagger. A stabby thing for when you don't want to notice you have a stabby thing on you all the time.
As someone who has some very basic medical training, my best guess is that it's a punch for emergency tracheotomies. Someone chokes on something, has anaphylaxis, allergic reaction, or any other swelling of the throat, you can punch a hole for them to breathe through... Also it goes *poke poke poke*
as a medic its to large for an emergency cricothyroidotomy...I love the idea though props and way way to large to relieve tension pneumothorax...it would do a great job causing one its perfect for causing a pneumo/hemothorax tho
Microtech folders are fast and strong but often times people don't trust the lock on folders and they don't trust they can open a folder under stress so maybe this the Microtech's answer to this problem at the time making a statement that they are pro 2nd.
if the endcap is removable its might be meant as a quickly deployable chest decompression tool. When you get injured in the lung area it can fill with air causing tons of problems likely to result in death. In that scenario medics would take the biggest gauge syringe they have and jab it into you to allow that pressure out. its called needle chest decompression. Not sure if this is what thats for but its a thought that popped up for me.
you paid attention in cls class...but no this object would cause a pneumothorax or hemothorax....if it was in the right hands it could drain a hemothorax some but you really need to attach suction...from a medic I give props to the thought BC I considered your idea but a 14 gauge 3 and a quarter inch needle is the largest object you'd insert into a chest to help someone that and a chest tube with suction
Thanks for the video. If someone has to ask why they would buy this then you are not the intended audience for this. This exists because it is cool. Period. And people are buying it.
Looks like the most efficient stabby stick on the market. It's got at most a .3 second "peace to puncture" time. easy cleaning, and will last long enough to pass down to your children when they get old enough to get stabby. 🤷🏿♂️ Not sure why he's so confused.
@@Lemon_Sage9999 sure, but it's even more concealable in more places and even lighter (prob cheaper than some things too). Also, VERY multi-use with some of the wacky ideas that he and the comments present; coconut milk extractor, sap extractor, DNA sample holder, etc, etc. Some ideas I personally have are Tic-Tac container, small gel/liquid container container(think like a small ampule or gel pellets of poison/acid/explosive material), hell, a big enough one would make a decent foothandle(stab it into a tree or rocks to climb) or a better impact glassbreaker type thing. Two more points: the shape might be more durable in certain situations(just a guess, I'm not a ballistics scholar or whatever), but something I know for certain: it'd be pretty brutal. The scare factor is...pretty damn nice.
A guy tried getting crazy with me in a parking lot (he came off like he had some mental illness) and pulled a knife out, and I had this on me and pulled it out - he ran. My adrenaline was pumping and I was praying I wouldn’t have to use it. It’s scary enough to make a crazy person run away.
I’d say its to stab in and run off as a last ditch, the attacker would pretty screwed. Maybe a good tool for someone who isn’t knife trained, you could also conceal it pretty easy.
It can be used as an alternative breathing device if you insert it into the trachea right above the sternum. Then unscrew the butt end and voila, saved person. Rescue tool confirmed.
I’d bet it’s probably Tony’s or one of them at Microtech’s passion project, I’d be interested to hear their explanation. I’ve thought about getting one just because they’re so weird lol. The sheath looks pretty good. Would be great as an improvised weapon as a spear like you said, maybe it’s like an apocalypse type thing. I love the idea of taking a pipe and turning it into one of these. Might need to Heat treating depending on the pipe but that’s sick.
Good lightweight protection for runners! What a way to collapse an attacker's lung(s) 🫁. Think of the design of police tire spikes. Effective incapacitation!
I would say As an absolute last ditch effort to survive It would serve as a boot spike Because of how cylindrical it is, it would be easy to put in, It looks like a medical syringe, after you shove it in someone's side it draws the blood out
If you want to try/review another edged tool that is just absurdly brutal, go check out the Ikken Hissatsu from Variant One. It was designed by a cool guy type as a modern direction tool.
I thought it was for puncturing tires, lol You would really like the Cold Steel Urban Dart it would be much more effective for this this Microtech is really not that sharp for puncturing someone's skin is harder than you think I tried using a riding pin one time and I had to reach my arms around them and hug them and pull the pen with both hands to get it to poke through their kidney area the attack was over as soon as I did that twice! I heard it pop into their skin and I felt the skin give when it finally went in I was surprised how resilient the human skin is!
Blood channels are real, their job is to stop a vacuum being created when you remove a knife from a body. I remember being taught about during British Army bayonet training.
A Fuller has a purpose, it’s not to let more blood out as such but is to break hydraulic suction for easy removal, usually at which point it will be reinserted. It’s not urban legend, it’s just something you don’t understand.
It's an "oxymoron".. it'll poke the user as well as the target. True story.. this is just Microtech showing off their extraordinary milling capabilities.
I don’t think people knew this but the object likely is used for torture methods if you stab a person and leave it in their blood drips out very much through the one point allowing you to collect it but keeping them alive to die slowly
